--------------------

During some point in 1997, I believe, Shawn Michaels was in a funk when he was in the thick of his real life backstage feud with Bret Hart and I think caving to some pressure that he was the top guy and WCW was handily beating the WWF. Shawn, at the time, threatened to go to WCW a few times, reportedly, during this period of time (but couldn't contractually). For one of Shawn's promos, as he was showing frustration but beginning to figure out his DX gimmick, he flat out said "what's my motivation?" Not sure if it was meant to be edgy towards the new attitude his character was developing on television or if it was a legitimate shot at WWE management.

But for this day when the President of the United States is giving his "State of the Union" speech, I figure it's a good time for the State of the Tito speech. Better yet, like Shawn Michaels, I'll ask what's my motivation?

To be up front, I'm burned out. Not just from being the "Excellence in Column Writing" author known as Mr. Tito, but work related stuff is burning me out again. For those who know me outside of Tito, I'm somewhat of a workaholic and working long hours in the financial world combined with taking some work home, I'm struggling to find free time to be Mr. Tito. At the earliest anymore, I start writing stuff at 10:00pm once I've spent time with the family and have taken care of things around the house. 10:00pm is the earliest, as a few work related projects and other side projects are occupying my time. If you've observed lately, I've been posting "Tito Daily" around 12:00am to 2:30am. That's not healthy insomnia developed when you have to wake up the next morning at 6:30am...

Worse yet, I've jumped into helping out with the 2012 Elections. I'm not sure if I disclosed this or not before, but I was heavily invested in the 2010 Ohio Elections and my volunteer services at the time were enjoyed that the same contacts from 2010 have already contacted me for 2012. I've been working on multiple communication roles for a several candidates. Politics engage me, as it allows me to mix being opinionated with my Economics background and I do have interest in the political arena long-term. The 2012 Elections are going to be crazy around "Super Tuesday" on March 6th and then in November.

Meanwhile, we have Mr. Tito stuff... I contemplated this last year... Is it really worth my time to keep my "Tito FIX" going? Having the luxury of posting for LordsofPain.net that commands a big wrestling audience of 16-25 year olds, it certainly brings in extra attention should you dare to post something provocative. Yesterday, for my RAW is TITO entry, I had a bunch of aggressive wrestling fans telling me off because I boldly said that the WWE was giving the shaft to both CM Punk with his 4 losses to Dolph Ziggler (making him look weak before the Rumble) and Zack Ryder for his injury angle, a week after he suddenly dropped the U.S. Title with barely any hype.

Funny thing is that both comments were very pro-CM Punk and very pro-Zack Ryder, yet the "drive-by Internet Wrestling Community (IWC)" had the nerve to throw whatever slur they had in mind at me and even threaten me because on this day, they were pro-WWE. In reverse, if I dare criticize something of Punk or Ryder, I get flamed for being anti-Punk or anti-Ryder. In fact, it seems that anytime I even say a single word about Zack Ryder/CM Punk/Daniel Bryan, it's a lightning rod for what appears to be a raging segment of the 16-25 population of wrestling fans.

How on earth do some of you even talk to an employer professionally with that lousy attitude, let alone talk to any of your authority figures such as your parents, teachers, etc.? Holy cow, some of you are VERY nasty.

What drives me to keep going as Mr. Tito is my longtime base of loyal readers, who, despite the deck chairs being shuffled on my Titanic of a column (Blogs Forum should still exist) as well as the many readers from the 16-25 reader population that I've actually gained from my 2010-2011 comeback. Most of my readers, both older and newer, are great and I appreciate the feedback VERY much. I try to tell anyone who sends in positive feedback "thanks for reading" because I really do sincerely appreciate anyone who enjoys my work and "gets it" for what it actually is: entertainment.

I'm only here for the ENTERTAINMENT, folks. At the end of the day, I'm just some dumbass who calls himself "Tito" because of the Jackson Family Movie he saw on Vh1 in 1997 that posts his opinion on a form of entertainment called Pro Wrestling. That's it. There is NOTHING more to it and it's just a column that you could either read or ignore. But there's an element of the population who just don't have their head screwed on right.

I feel for the two NFL players who are getting blamed for their losses Sunday, Billy Cundiff and Kyle Williams of the 49ers. Both guys are getting harassed badly by fans for something they did in a GAME that is there for the fans' ENTERTAINMENT. Kyle Williams, who is open to using Social Networking sites, reported to receiving death threats on Twitter. Really? Last time I checked, the San Francisco 49ers were 6-10 the previous season with a weak 2000's decade after Jeff Garcia and Terrell Owens left the franchise. But 49er "fans" have the NERVE to reportedly threaten this kid and even his family for a GAME?

Granted, what I do as "Mr. Tito" isn't remotely close to NFL Football (that's an understatement), but the nerve of some highly immature teenagers and those in their early 20's to throw slurs at me for just writing a WRESTLING COLUMN is absurd. I'm only here for entertainment purposes, only, and it's not worth my time to deal with ignorance and idiots. I'm not sure if the idiots have disappointments with themselves personally, are jealous of someone else's success, or just weren't hugged much as kids... Something is seriously wrong with a segment of the younger population these days that they must take out their internal rage on something that really doesn't matter.

Overall, I enjoy being Mr. Tito... I enjoy the large audience that LordsofPain.net provides, and probably like a pro wrestler, I like the "character" of it. But the old Danny Glover phrase comes into play, I'm getting too old for this shit.

And here I am, busting my hump for MRTITO.com I'll admit it right now.... It's TOUGH to start your own internet brand. There's a serious reason why I NEVER left LordsofPain.net/WrestlingHeadlines.com and that was because LoP is a great site and it has an incredible built-in audience to speak to. In starting MRTITO.com, I was venturing on my own to see how well the "Tito" brand would do as a stand alone. It's been a tough road to rely on people to click the link or bookmark my website, but with time, the brand extension of LoP could grow. My biggest hope would be to grow the website with a non-wrestling audience for politics, economics, NFL, and entertainment posts.

BUT - I'm taking on too much and something has to give. As much as I enjoy the Mr. Tito gimmick, it's all performed with my shrinking free time and with charity. Thus, as I battle insomnia to remain acting as your humble host, Mr. Tito, I'm wearing thin from jumbling too many things at once and I'm about to break. That, and removing myself as Mr. Tito disallows the small % of my audience that takes pro wrestling columns TOO SERIOUSLY.

I'll see if I can micro-manage my time better... But I'm honestly struggling, as I'm burned out and some of the bullshit that comes with the territory just isn't worth it any longer.

Just a heads up, folks... Yes, I know... Another retirement threat. BUT - Thank you to anyone who has long supported me and continued to root me on. Thank you very much!
