--------------------

I hope that everyone out there in MRTITO.com reader-land had a GREAT Christmas this year. I had a great one myself, as Christmas is easily my favorite holiday. Sure, Fireworks are nice for 4th of July, as is the weather... I kinda get bored with the terrible served with Thanksgiving... But Christmas not only allows you to celebrate the "reason for the season" (Jesus), but I enjoy all of the Christmas songs, decorations, and the gift giving. That, and the food is much better than Thanksgiving.

Sorry, but eating dry turkey and whatever variations of vegetables you can create just doesn't excite me. That, and I see the same family/friends at Christmas that I do for Thanksgiving. Thus, as I see "Black Friday" eat into more and more of Thanksgiving's time and spotlight, I just laugh... Besides, I've always argued that if Thanksgiving's food selection went 100% Italian, it would be great again. Turkey and "all of the fixings" just bores me...

ANYWAY - Back into the swing of things... Tonight, we do have Monday Night RAW to enjoy and each RAW will be interesting to see as the WWE formulates the Royal Rumble Pay Per View. That, and I'm curious about the Wrestling Observer Newsletter report about the WWE blaming CM Punk for the recent low ratings and are thinking about moving the WWE Title to someone else. Honestly, we'll see how true that wrestling rumor is as the weeks unfold...

For those of you who are paranoid about CM Punk, just be cautious of who Punk wrestles on RAW for the title, and also who is shaping up to be his Royal Rumble opponent. If CM Punk survives Royal Rumble as WWE Champion, this was just 1 week of the WWE showing some panic of a champion not named John Cena or Alberto Del Rio, the McMahon darlings. If CM Punk does in fact begin feuding strictly with Alberto Del Rio for Royal Rumble, I would worry... WWE definitely wants Del Rio to succeed by any means necessary, even if he's a draw (whereas Punk is, based on successful merchandise sales and higher ratings after MITB).

Monday Night Football presents us with New Orleans vs. Atlanta Falcons. Though a great match-up, it's not the drawing power that the Pittsburgh Steelers provide. Drew Brees will be chasing Dan Marino's single season yardage record and that might put more eyeballs on the game that might otherwise casually watch RAW.

HOWEVER - I'm here to put an end to the Monday Night Football excuse. I'm sorry, but I remember the WWE consistently doing 6.0+ ratings in the face of not only Monday Night Football, but WCW's Monday Nitro. The FACT is that if you have a great wrestling product, fans WILL tune in. What we've had from 2011's WWE is an inconsistent product as far as the storylines and the pushes are concerned. Just look at how the WWE handled their World Title since the Money in the Bank Pay Per View, while also noting the multiple script rewrites that reportedly happened. And where oh where is our precious Chief Operating Officer at these days? How did that grand Triple H storyline end, especially with it reportedly feeding into a Triple H vs. Vince McMahon feud for 2012?

The McMahons, and the hangers-on, need to be held accountable for a product that should be much stronger than what the ratings, buyrates, and houseshow attendance numbers are showing. In my opinion, the WWE roster right now is STACKED but it's all a matter of how you use that talent. WCW in 1998 had a STACKED roster full with former WWF superstars, Luchadores, former ECW talent, and some actual good home-grown talent. But the focus of 1998 for WCW was how to keep Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash happy at the same time, even at the expense of the rest of the roster.

I just hope that with CM Punk, who might be turned into a scapegoat for 3.0 ratings since Survivor Series (EVEN THOUGH 3.0 ratings have been regular since SummerSlam 2011 after Punk lost the title...) doesn't fall victim of getting his WWE Title hotshotted to Miz/Del Rio on an upcoming edition of RAW or get "buried" at Royal Rumble 2011.

We'll see... RAW is Tito review will be up tonight after the show... The 2012 Pro Wrestling Predictions will be posted by this Thursday, I hope...

So just chill... Till the next episode!
