Lordsofpain.net has two GREAT newsbytes today, and that's surprising because the news source well dries up by Thursday as we head into the weekend. I can't help myself in avoiding those 2 topics, so here are my wonderful thoughts:

Miz = Latest Scapegoat
The Wrestling Observer/Figure 4 Weekly reports that the Miz is getting the blame for the weak Survivor Series 2012 buyrate despite the Rock being on the same show. Here we go again... We can NEVER blame John Cena for being a historically weak Pay Per View draw. Just pull up the top 10 worst buyrates of WWE's history, and Cena headlines many of those shows... For whatever reason, the non-main eventer, R-Truth, is getting no blame although that's the WWE's fault... So it all falls on the Miz who appears to be on a losing streak since early December and just lost cleanly to Kofi Kingston.

But it couldn't be the Rock, right? I mean, it WAS his first match since Wrestlemania 20 and also teaming up with an opponent he'll face at Wrestlemania 28... As I alluded to the other day, the WWE might have to face the fact that much of their wrestling fanbase through 2011 does NOT care about the Rock. Think about it... Those born when the Rock debuted with the WWF in 1996 did not see how incredible he truly was as a pro wrestler. To them, he's more of a movie star who has good movies but is missing that breakout hit.

Let's blame Miz, who I wouldn't doubt is getting a Lion's share of the Vengeance 2011 "2nd lowest buyrate in WWE history" blame, despite that event containing Triple H and the WWE's 2 darlings in the main event, John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio. But it's the Miz's fault....

NEXT TOPIC!

Triple H puts all of his chips on Sheamus... Will HHH be accountable if Sheamus fails in the main event again?
The Wrestling Observer/Figure 4 Weekly also reports that it was Triple H who helped the WWE make the final call for Sheamus to win the 2012 Royal Rumble. As we've heard before the event, Randy Orton was in consideration for the #1 contendership and to go over at Wrestlemania, while there was also talk of giving the shot to Chris Jericho to wrestle CM Punk at Wrestlemania. John Cena was also in consideration to win the Rumble.

But, the growing influence of Triple H appears to have won this battle and Sheamus now gets the Wrestlemania 28 title shot, probably for the Smackdown World Title. And I'm happy for Sheamus and I personally hope it works out well. I just hope he's ready to assume the task of being a promotion's top wrestler because in my opinion, he was ready for that challenge during 2009-2010 when the WWE pushed him too hard. He's a very talented wrestler who just needs more experience and there's NOTHING wrong with being a successful midcarder for years until i'ts your time to step up.

He's an admitted favorite of Triple H, thus if Sheamus flops as a Main Event draw, Triple H should be held accountable by any Executive Officer above him as well as the WWE Board of Directors. And this time, it's a REAL job evaluation.

But if accountability actually occurred in the WWE, the creative head since late 2000 would have been terminated multiple times already.
