BUSINESS

28 - Wrestlemania 13 - Small venue plus worst buyrate (0.77) and number of buys (237,000) (shouldn't surprise anyone)

27 - Wrestlemania XI - Ranked 25th or lower in each category

26 - Wrestlemania XII - Only thing keeping it from being lower was its decent attendance

25 - Wrestlemania IX - #20 in buys and buyrate, but Caesar's held only 16,000 people

24 - Wrestlemania X - Consistent with 21st ranked PPV data and 19th in attendance

23 - Wrestlemania VII - Had 8th highest buyrate, but worst attendance

22 - Wrestlemania - Managed to get my hands on attendance for the closed-circuit showings; no buyrate; 14th highest attendance

21 - Wrestlemania XIX - The statistical outlier for the modern Mania with lousy PPV numbers

20 - Wrestlemania VIII - 62,000 in the Hoosier Dome (11th all-time) only thing keeping it this high

19 - Wrestlemania XV - Fell in the upper half in buy numbers, but a surprisingly poor showing, by historical comparison

18 - Wrestlemania XX - #10 in PPV buys, solid attendance, not so good buyrate (1.6)

17 - Wrestlemania XIV - Great success for its time, but middle of the road across the three categories

16 - Wrestlemania 2000 - Solid PPV numbers, but poor attendance figure

15 - Wrestlemania 22 - 932,000 buys was good for 8th, but other numbers kept it from top half

14 - Wrestlemania X-8 - Saved by its attendance, the PPV data was disappointing

13 - Wrestlemania IV - Skewed by its #3 ranking in PPV buyrate (6.5)

12 - Wrestlemania 2 - Combined attendance to 40,000 helped the ranking tremendously

11 - Wrestlemania XXVI - Top 9 in all but the buyrate, which was just 19th

10 - Wrestlemania V - Glad to see this stand the test of financial times (for another year, anyway)

9 - Wrestlemania 21 - Started the trend of the modern Mania with top 15 rank across the board, including 6th highest buys

8 - Wrestlemania VI - Top 5 in buyrate, top 10 in attendance, but bottom half in buy number

7 - 25th Anniversary of Wrestlemania - #5 in attendance, #7 in buy number, #13 in buyrate

6 - Wrestlemania X-Seven - Holds North American buy record (not bad for a card largely full of rematches *wink*)

5 - Wrestlemania XXVII - 4th highest buys, big attendance, and solid buyrate

4 - Wrestlemania XXIV - Top 10 in buyrate, Top 4 in buys and attendance

3 - Wrestlemania III - #1 in both buyrate and attendance, but #11 in buy number drops it out of the top spot

2 - Wrestlemania 23 - #7 in buyrate, #2 in both buys and attendance

1 - Wrestlemania XXVIII - Set the new number of buys record with the 6th highest buyrate and 3rd highest attendance (new standard bearer)

INTANGIBLES

28 - Wrestlemania XV - Worst because the hype was brilliant but the quality was so poor by comparison

27 - Wrestlemania XI - WWE relies on a celebrity to carry a wrestling show (not sustainable)

26 - Wrestlemania 2 - 3 venues was too much; it was well organized, but too gutsy. There's a reason we've not seen it again

25 - Wrestlemania XXVII - The Rock was mishandled on that night and HHH vs. Taker was not enough to offset it

24 - Wrestlemania IX - The 1st outdoor show, it felt royal with the Caesar theme, the togas, and such

23 - Wrestlemania 13 - Austin vs. Bret was arguably the greatest story ever told in a wrestling ring

22 - Wrestlemania XX - They did very well with the nostalgia, history, and context leading up to the event

21 - Wrestlemania XII - HBK's boyhood dream came true and then he was thrust into a spotlight while everyone was leaving

20 - Wrestlemania - You can't replace a first, be it losing your virginity, the first kiss, the first Super Bowl, etc.

19 - Wrestlemania VII - The exploitation of war overshadowed the birth of modern day main-event

18 - Wrestlemania 2000 - Unofficial first TLC was a reminder that you can steal the show even if you're in the midcard

17 - Wrestlemania 23 - John Cena and Batista truly arrive against Shawn Michaels and Undertaker

16 - 25th Anniversary of Wrestlemania - The historical perspective was never handled better

15 - Wrestlemania VIII - Vintage Flair at Mania had to happen for the event to be historically complete

14 - Wrestlemania IV - Tournaments like March Madness, the NFL or NBA Playoffs, Wimbledon, and the WWE Championship draw are awesome

13 - Wrestlemania XXIV - Proved that an outdoor event could be held in grand style

12 - Wrestlemania X - Though it was Bret's night, his rivalry with Shawn was born

11 - Wrestlemania VI - Warrior vs. Hogan was the first big face vs. face match-up on a major event

10 - Wrestlemania 22 - John Cena vs. HHH features the greatest and most involved crowd ever at a Wrestlemania

9 - Wrestlemania XXVI - The perfect sendoff for HBK both in story and in execution

8 - Wrestlemania V - The Mega Powers Exploding was the first yearlong story and it was very well thought out

7 - Wrestlemania X-8 - Rock vs. Hogan was the WWE first, true "Dream Match"

6 - Wrestlemania 21 - Where it all really began again, it established a new and very successful era

5 - Wrestlemania XXVIII - Cena vs. Rock was the new "Dream Match" akin to Kobe vs. Lebron in the NBA Finals

4 - Wrestlemania XIX - Never been such a collection of historically relevant names on one wrestling card

3 - Wrestlemania XIV - Tyson's presence, along with the beginning of the Austin era, launches WWE back into the driver's seat

2 - Wrestlemania X-Seven - The Attitude Era's masterpiece and its end; a final showcase of all that made it great

1 - Wrestlemania III - The first TRUE Wrestlemania featuring the biggest crowd, the biggest match, and the biggest card
