WWE SmackDown Results 4/4/14

[Q1] After the regular Smackdown intro, Cole welcomed us to the arena. Dolph Ziggler then made his ring entrance for the first match of the night. Cole said they would be checking in with WrestleMania Axxess shortly, then Titus O'Neill made his entrance.
Match 1 - Dolph Ziggler vs. Titus O'Neill: Dolph grabbed a waist lock to open the match, but Titus shrugged him off. Titus worked power with a slam and dropped a leg for a two count. Titus continued his power showcase and taunted the crowd. He waited a little too long to follow up, as Dolph got a leg up as Titus charged into the corner. Dolph hit a running cross body and then did the 10 punches bit in the corner. There was an awkward Fameasser spot where Dolph got most of the move, but Titus no sold it like it didn't connect. They plowed ahead and Titus hit a big boot for a two count. Titus hit a backbreaker, but Dolph hit the Zig Zag a few seconds later for the clean win.
Dolph Ziggler defeated Titus O'Neill at 4:13.
Cole plugged the 30 man battle royal at WrestleMania, and then plugged a Hulk Hogan appearance. Footage was shown of Renee Young and Jerry Lawler at Axxess...
The show came back to Renee Young and Jerry Lawler at Axxess. They both narrated over a bunch of the fan attractions like the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine, Undertaker's Graveyard, etc. They both spoke about The Undertaker's streak and Lawler sold it like he was the most concerned he's ever been about The Streak continuing.
[Q2] Renee Young introduced a video package that covered The Streak and the upcoming match with Brock Lesnar. The package had a nice Paul Heyman voice over that did a decent job of casting doubt on the outcome of the match...[c]
Lawler and Young spoke about WWE Slam City, and the Legends of WrestleMania show featuring Mick Foley and Ric Flair that will air after Smackdown on the WWE Network. Young then introduced a video about Stephanie McMahon, and showed pieces of her sit down interview with Michael Cole. She spoke about the WWE Network for a bit before Cole asked her about Daniel Bryan. She got condescending and told Cole he can't understand the types of decisions she and her husband make.
Steph then spoke about Bryan putting fans in danger at Occupy Raw. Cole then brought up that the Bryan saga started way before that at SummerSlam. She then backpedaled and said he was a B+ player and they had do do what's best for business. Cole then asked her if they would finally acknowledge Bryan's accomplishments if he gets the upset victory at WrestleMania. She dismissed it off hand and said that Triple H will end WrestleMania as WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
[Q3] Lawler and Young then discussed some of the other attractions at Axxess, and then plugged The Ultimate Warrior's new DVD with a video package...[c]
A clip was shown of John Cena's surprise attack on the Wyatt's on Monday. Lawler and Young went over some kids attractions at Axxess. They introduced a video package that went over John Cena and Bray Wyatt's feud. It was similar to the other Eminem inspired videos. After the video package, Renee plugged Hulk Hogan's appearance...[c]
[Q4] Lawler and Renee Young introduced interviews with Randy Orton and Batista with Booker T. They covered Orton's road to being the first man to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Booker then went over his recent conflicts with Daniel Bryan and Triple H. Orton refused to comment on Triple H, but had things to say about Daniel Bryan. Orton called the yes chant a fad, and said that if he gets to the main event, he'll be wounded and won't stand a chance. Booker then asked for comment on Batista, and Orton said that they have a lot of history, but he can't get those four years back that he was gone. In the end, Orton said he's better than all of his potential competitors at WrestleMania, and he'll be standing tall when the dust settles.
Lawler said Los Matadores and The Real Americans would come up next, and we'd see how Daniel Bryan gave Triple H some comeuppance on Raw...[c]
Cole plugged the pre-show with the Fatal Four Way Tag Team Championship match on the WWE Network. The Real Americans then made their ring entrance, followed by Los Matadores.
[Q5] Match 2 – Los Matadores vs. The Real Americans: Swagger and Fernando started the match. Fernando hit a head scissors, and Swagger tagged out to Cesaro. Fernando caught him with a head scissors as well, and then tagged out to Diego. Colter got in Cesaro's face during the match and slapped the taste out of his mouth. Cesaro wanted to retaliate, but Swagger got between them. Cesaro got fired up hit 47 european uppercuts, followed by a dead lift gutwrench suplex...[c]
Diego hit a double DDT on Swagger and Cesaro, but couldn't make a tag. Cesaro tagged in and dropped an elbow for a near fall. The Real Americans used some double team offense to further isolate Diego. Swagger tagged in and hit a hard clothesline. Diego finally made it to his corner, but Cesaro pulled Fernando off the apron to prevent the tag. Swagger got a near fall with a belly to belly, and then hit a Swagger bomb. Cesaro tagged in and hit an assisted double stomp for another near fall.
Diego fought off both Real Americans and dumped both of them over the top rope to the outside. Cesaro tagged in, and so did Fernando. He hit a head scissors on Cesaro and a sprinboard back elbow for a two count. He then hit a somersault senton from the top, but only got two. Swagger got dumped to the outside attempting to assist Cesaro. Fernando tried to hit a top rope drop kick, but Cesaro caught him and hit the Cesaro swing. He followed it up with the Neutralizer for the win.
The Real Americans defeated Los Matadores at 13:39.
[Q6] Young and Lawler spoke briefly about The Shield vs. Kane and The New Age Outlaws. They then cut to an interview with the Shield. They spoke about their first WrestleMania match last year, and how important it was in launching them as a dominant force. They then cut to some video of The Shield getting ambushed on Smackdown a few weeks ago, and they spoke about putting Kane and The Outlaws out to pasture in New Orleans.
Renee Young said we'd get an interview with Batista coming up next...[c]
[Q7] Renee Young introduced footage of Triple H unveiling a statue of Bruno Sammartino at WrestleMania Axxess with Bruno present to accept. Bruno seemed genuinely touched, and the whole thing came of really well. Young and Lawler then spoke about the Triple Threat Main Event. They spoke about Batista specifically, and how his return has not gone as he anticipated.
They showed bits of an interview he did with Booker T. They spoke about his comeback, and how he wished he would have comeback someplace other than Dayton, Ohio. Batista then spoke about how the fans haven't accepted him, and how people just need to deal with him being a main eventer and a dominant force. Booker then asked about the Triple Threat stipulation, and he said he was worried that he didn't have to get beat to lose the match. Booker read off the Triple H quote about Hollywood Stars, and Batista said that at first he thought he was talking about The Rock. He was flattered to be called a Hollywood Star, and said that Hunter should stay behind his desk and stay out of his ring.
He then said Daniel Bryan is a flavor of the month and not the real deal. He then called Randy Orton a corporate suck up, and said that he would leave Wrestlemania with gold around his waist, end of story. They then cut to another Bray Wyatt and John Cena video set to Eminem's song.
Lawler and Renee Young spoke about the WWE Hall of Fame. Lawler spoke about the unpredictability of the Ultimate Warrior, and Young plugged the Legends of WrestleMania roundtable happening after Smackdown on the WWE Network.
[Q8] They then introduced a video clip that showed Daniel Bryan's surprise attack on Triple H from Raw. After the video, Lawler said Hulk Hogan is next...[c]
Hulk Hogan made his entrance, and JBL and Cole plugged his appearance on their web show. Hogan said it was great to be back in the nations capitol. Hogan said he's got a lot of great WrestleMania memories, and talked about Mr. T and The Rock at Mania 1 and 18. He then said his biggest moment was at WrestleMania 3 when he slammed Andre the Giant in front of 93,000 people. Hogan said it was important to him to hand the Andre Trophy to the first winner of the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. That trophy was the winner's chance to link himself to immortality. In closing, Hogan did his "whatcha gonna do" bit. That was the close of the show...
