WWE Monday Night Raw 8/24/09

We begin with a look back at last night’s Summerslam when a fan attacked the referee during the WWE Title match.
Randy Orton addresses the fans and he talks about how he won last night, but there was controversy. Randy says that a fan from the stands came to interfere during the match. We fade out to see Ted and Cody. Randy asks Ted if it was just a fan. Ted says that the fan was his brother Brett DiBiase. Ted says that Brett bought a ticket for last night and he did not know that his brother would interfere in the match. Randy says that Brett’s actions are inexcusable and will not be tolerated. Brett apologizes to Randy. Cody points out that Randy would have won the match regardless. Randy reminds everyone that he is and will stay WWE Champion.
Jerry and Michael talk about the guest host, Floyd Mayweather.
Lillian Garcia introduces the Chairman of WWE, Vince McMahon and Vince walks as only Vince can. Vince mentions tonight’s guest host, and how he is one of the greatest showmen of all time. Vince mentions that there was some controversy last night and the result is final so Randy Orton is the WWE Champion. Vince says that it is time to clear up that controversy. John Cena will have a rematch and it will take place at Breaking Point. On that pay per view, the main events will be submission matches. It will be an I Quit Match. Vince says that if there is any interference on Randy Orton’s behalf, he will be stripped of the title immediately.
Before Vince can leave the ring, Degeneration X comes out. Hunter and Shawn have mics and Vince wants to leave. Hunter apologizes for not coming out in a big tank, but with the economy the rental rates are too high. Hunter says that he doesn’t like ‘Good Guy’ Vince McMahon because it is creepy. He says that it is like Michael Vick at a PETA convention. Shawn says that somebody has a birthday. Hunter goes through some other people celebrating birthdays and Shawn gives him clues. Hunter wishes Vince a Happy 84th birthday. Vince asks them to leave, but Hunter wonders how many more birthdays Vince has left, especially in Vegas. Shawn says that if Vince doesn’t want to have a happy birthday, he is with Vince. Shawn says that Vince is the reason why we watch WWE television. Shawn wants to show Vince a tribute. We have a video package of Vince to ‘Through the Years’. It turns into exactly what you would expect from DX.
Vince says that he is not going to forget about this, but Hunter suggests that Vince will forget it at his age. Hunter has some people roll out a cake to the ring. Shawn and Hunter bring out some showgirls for Vince’s celebration. Vince also brings out some Cirque de Soleil performers. Vince wants to know if they are done yet, but they have an Elvis impersonator. Elvis has some glasses for Vince and then he performs Happy Birthday. It is time for the cake because it is a special cake. It is time for some Vintage unnecessary characters because Big Fat Oily Guy emerges and Cole laughs a lot while Vince throws him out of the ring. Shawn and Hunter ask the guests in the ring to leave for a private moment in the arena in front of all of the fans while Shawn admits to having nothing to do with this.
Hunter says that they have one more present for Vince and it is something he will love. They ask Vince to stand in the center of the ring as they look up.
Legacy attack Hunter and Shawn. Shawn has a chair and Ted and Cody leave. Randy Orton walks out as only Randy can. Hunter suggests that since Floyd isn’t at the building yet, Hunter is going to make a match. It will be Legacy facing Degeneration X and Vince McMahon. Vince says the match is no disqualification. Vince gets to give the two words line.
We go to commercial.
Match Number One: Santino Marella versus The Miz
Miz with a forearm to the back followed by kicks and a punch. Santino blocks a hip toss and hits one of his own. Santino with an arm wringer. Miz with a kick and then he leaps over the top rope and drops Santino across it and gets a near fall. Miz with another punch and kick to the head. Miz with an arm bar and chin lock. Miz with an Irish whip but he misses a clothesline in the corner. Santino with punches and then he chops Miz. Santino with a diving head butt but misses. Miz hits the Stroke for the three count. Winner: The Miz
After the match, Miz gets on the mic and he says that he is one step closer to becoming the next United States Champion.
Gail Kim, Kelly Kelly, and Mickie James are walking in the back for their match and we go to commercial.
Match Number Two: Beth Phoenix, Rosa Mendes, and Alicia Fox versus Mickie James, Kelly Kelly, and Gail Kim in a Mayweather Melee
Beth and Gail start things off and Gail with a kick and an arm bar as Kelly is tagged in. Gail with a cross body and then Kelly with a rana for a near fall. Beth with an Irish whip but Kelly floats over and Kelly tries for a head scissors but Beth holds on and hits a back breaker. Beth runs Kelly into the corner and tags in Rosa. Rosa with punches and a double sledge to Kelly’s back. Kelly with punches and a forearm followed by a clothesline. Alicia and Mickie tag in and Mickie with punches that sends Alicia to the mat. Mickie with a neck breaker to Alicia but Beth breaks up the cover. Mickie with a forearm to Beth but Gail with a missile drop kick to Beth. Kelly with a drop kick to Rosa. Alicia with a Thesz Press but Alicia moves and Mickie goes to the ring post. Alicia with a scissors kick for the three count. Winners: Beth Phoenix, Alicia Fox, and Rosa Mendes
We go to commercial.
We are back and Shawn and Hunter are talking in the back. Shawn points out that Vince is old while Legacy are three top athletes. Hunter talks about the Rise and Fall of WCW DVD. Time for the shameless plugs. Shawn says that they need to get Vince angry. Hunter says that he has an idea and he thinks Vince will be fuming right about now.
Vince is in his office and it is time for Jillian Hall to serenade Vince as Marilyn Monroe. Vince tells her to leave.
Big Show and Chris Jericho come to the ring and Show says that Mayweather is doing the right thing by avoiding him. Show says that if he gets his hands on Mayweather he is going to hurt him. Show says that they have some unfinished business. Show says that he isn’t leaving the ring. Jericho says that he isn’t leaving either.
Mayweather is on the TitanTron and I guess Mayweather has a fight coming up on September 19th. Floyd walks like he is Randy Orton as we go to commercial.
We are back and Show and Jericho are still in the ring. Lillian introduces Floyd Mayweather and he comes out. Floyd finally gets in the ring and he is dressed for the occasion. Floyd reminds Show what he did to him at Wrestlemania and he says that he will do it again tonight. Floyd mentions that he has a fight on September 19th that is more important than dealing with Show. Floyd and Jericho get eye to eye. Jericho says that Mayweather was announced as the greatest fighter of all time. He says that Mayweather is a great self promoter, but he is not the best fighter. Jericho says that Mayweather is going to get knocked out. Show says that after Mayweather is done with his fight, they will wipe Mayweather from the face of the planet.
Montel Vontavious Porter comes out and he says that he does not appreciate Jericho and Show talking that way to a man who made him a lot of money. Porter says that Jericho is not that smart. Jericho says that Mayweather’s posse had to help him out. Jericho tells Porter not to insult his friend. Porter tells Jericho to shut up because he doesn’t want to hear it and neither does the WWE Universe. Porter says that Jericho is only on Raw because he is a champion. But if someone beats him, then Jericho will have to go back to Smackdown. Show wants to know who is going to beat them? Porter says that he has an idea. He wants to be able to find a partner and if they win, they get a title match at Breaking Point. Mayweather likes the idea. Porter brings out his tag team partner, Mark Henry.

Match Number Three: Big Show and Chris Jericho versus Montel Vontavious Porter and Mark Henry
The match is joined in progress and Porter with a running boot into the corner. We see Floyd and a lackey sitting at ringside. Porter with a kick but Show makes a blind tag and he takes Porter down. Show with a series of slams followed by a kick to Porter. Show with a side head lock. Porter with punches and Show almost feels them. Show with a thrust kick to Porter. We see more lackeys standing in the rampway. Show with a full nelson. Show turns it into a choke slam and Jericho tags in and gets a near fall. Jericho draws Henry in and that allows Jericho to kick Porter and Show chokes Porter while the referee keeps Henry in the corner. Jericho slingshots Porter into the bottom rope. Jericho with a kick but Porter with a clothesline and both men are down. Jericho pulls Porter back into the center of the ring but Porter kicks him away. Jericho brings him back into the center of the ring. Jericho with a version of a sleeper. Porter with elbows but Jericho with a knee and then he throws Porter out of the ring. Mayweather tells Jericho that he is next.
Jericho takes his time getting to Porter on the floor and he rolls Porter back in. Jericho with a kick to the head. Jericho with a head butt but Porter with a forearm. Jericho with a forearms and then it is time for Porter to hit some more forearms. Jericho keeps Porter from making the tag and Show is tagged in. Show with a punch to the midsection. Show starts to work on Porter’s leg with elbows to the knee. Show continues to work on the leg and applies a step over toe hold. Show with another slam and Jericho is tagged in again. We get a double clothesline and both men are down. We go to commercial.
We are back and Porter with a rollup for a near fall. Jericho keeps Porter from making the tag one more time. Jericho misses the Lionsault and both men are down. Henry tags in and he hits a head butt and body block. Henry charges into the corner but Jericho moves. Henry blocks the Codebreaker and he gets Jericho up for the World’s Strongest Slam but Jericho counters with a DDT but Jericho can only get a two count. Porter tags in and he hits a double thrust to the throat followed by a facebuster. It is time for the Ballin Elbow and he connects. Porter with an Irish whip and Jericho with an enzuigiri but Henry breaks up the cover. Henry knocks Show off the apron and then Mayweather gives Porter some brass knuckles and Porter punches Jericho. Porter destroys the evidence and he gets the three count. Winners: Montel Vontavious Porter and Mark Henry with an assist from Floyd Mayweather
After the match Mayweather celebrates in the ring with Porter and Henry while Show carries Jericho to the back.
Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes are with Brett DiBiase and Randy Orton arrives and he tells Brett to leave. Randy says that they have been given a golden opportunity. They can beat DX and shut down Vince on his birthday. Randy says that he can do what he should have done months ago. Randy says that he will make sure that the match at Breaking Point is the last match that Vince McMahon makes.

We are back with the Sludge Slam: The latest Hornswoggle/Chavo hilarity featuring a cameo from Macaulay Culkin.
Match Number Four: Hornswoggle versus Chavo Guerrero in a Boxing Exhibition
Before the exhibition starts, Chavo is given new gloves and they are ginormous. Chavo misses with a punch and Hornswoggle gets in a few jabs. Hornswoggle backs Chavo into the corner with punches. Hornswoggle knocks Chavo down with a right hand. Chavo takes off his gloves when Hornswoggle is held back by the referee. Chavo slams Hornswoggle and the referee calls for the bell. Winner: Hornswoggle by Disqualification
After the match, Chavo goes up top for a frog splash, but Evan Bourne comes out to save Hornswoggle and Bourne with a series of kicks and then Bourne goes up top for a Shooting Star Press.
It is time to see footage from the Summerfest activities.
Vince is in his office and he is warming up with Mayweather. Carlito arrives and he says that Mayweather is a horrible host because he isn’t on the show and deserves his rematch against Kofi. Hunter and Shawn say that Mayweather is doing a great job. Hunter tells Vince that his warming up allows him to spend more time with Vince’s daughter. Vince punches Carlito. Shawn says that is cool.
We go to commercial.
Match Number Five: Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, and Ted DiBiase versus Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and Vince McMahon
Ted with a side head lock to Hunter but Hunter fights out of it. Hunter with a DDT and both men are down. Shawn tags in and he punches Ted followed by a reverse atomic drop and chop. Shawn takes care of Rhodes and Orton and then Shawn with a slam to Ted and he goes up top for the elbow drop and he hits it. Rhodes with a bulldog to Michaels from out of nowhere. Orton tags in and Orton with boots to Michaels. Orton with a boot to the sternum and then he repeats it. Orton with a knee drop and a near fall. Rhodes tags in and he snap mares Michaels and puts him in a cravate. Rhodes with forearms to the back and then he kicks Michaels. DiBiase tags in and he kicks Michaels and connects with elbows and punches. Orton tags in and he punches Shawn and Shawn goes down. Orton with leaping knee drops for a near fall. Orton with a reverse chin lock on Michaels. Michaels with a belly-to-back suplex and both men are down. Rhodes knocks Vince and Hunter off the apron. Shawn makes the tag to Hunter and he punches Rhodes a few times followed by the high knee in a vintage move. Hunter with the vintage facebuster and he punches DiBiase. Hunter sets for that spinebuster and it is time to pose. Vince wants to tag in and Hunter with a Pedigree to Cody and Vince wants the tag much more. Vince comes in and he gets the cover but Orton breaks it up. Orton sets for the field goal kick but Michaels makes the save to block that kick. Orton leaves the ring.
John Cena’s Music plays and he makes sure that Orton cannot leave. Cena punches Orton and sends him into the ring. Shawn with Sweet Chin Music followed by Attitude Adjustment by Cena. Vince gets the three count. Winners: Vince McMahon and Degeneration X with an assist from John Cena
Cena, Degeneration X, and the Birthday Boy celebrate in the ring as we go to credits.
