WWE House Show Report Augusta, Ga 2/3/13
Match 1). Brodus Clay(w/ Cameron and Naomi) defeated Corey Grave. Good opening match to get the crowd into it. Clay won with the splash
Match 2). Layla defeated Aksana. Really nice divas match. Aksana actually did a really good job drawing heat, including faking a fan out on a high five. Layla made up for it though by giving the fan a hug followed by a kiss on the cheek. Im really impressed by Layla. She looked very good here.
Match 3).. Fandango defeated Yoshi Tatsu. This was an ok match, but the crowd wasn’t into it at first. They finally got behind Tatsu, but Fandango got the win.
Match 4). Kofi Kingston defeated Damien Sandow. Sandow is so good at drawing heat without having to say a word now. The crowd was so ready to boo his promo, that he couldn’t even speak. Kingston won with the trouble in paradise.
Match 5). Randy Orton defeated Cody Rhodes. Orton got the pop of the night, at learst up to this point. This was the match of the night to me. Finish saw Orton countered the Beautiful disaster with an RKO. Looked awesome in person!!
Match 6). Sin Cara and The Great Khali (w/ Natalya and Hornswoggle) defeated Primo and Epico(w/ Rosa Mendes). This was obviously more of a comedy match that saw Primo and Epico try to avoid getting in the ring with Khali. Finish saw Natalya pull Rosa off the apron, Hornswoggle land a tadpole splash, and Sin Car get the pinfall.
Match 7). Sheamus defeated IC Champ Wade Barrett in a non title match. Crrowd was way into Sheamus. He wins following the Brogue Kick.
Match 8). Alberto Del Rio (w/ Ricardo Rodriguez) defeated Big Show in a No DQ match. This was a fan’s choice match, that saw the use of Kendo sticks, chairs, and tables. Crowd favored Del Rio, although Show is popular here considering he grew up about 15 minutes away in Aiken, SC (my hometown). After the match, Del Rio led a Si chant and had Rodriguez announce him as the winner.
Overall, a very entertaining show!!
1). Randy Orton
1). Damien Sandow
2). Cody Rhodes

Layla vs Tamina opened the show. Decent back and forth match went about 15 mins. Layla won with her finisher.
Fandango vs Yoshi Tatsu. Really good match. Good back and forth action. Crowd was not all that into it. Fandango won with what looked like a modified neckbreaker.
Damien Sandow vs. Kofi Kingston. Another extremely good match. Good back and forth action once again. The crowd was really into it. The two would have a pretty good rivalry if Sandow goes single. Kofi got the win with trouble in paradise.
Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton. Cody came out first and cut a pretty decent heel promo about being up the road. Probably the best match of the night. One of the highest points was Cody reversing the RKO into Cross Rhodes. Orton gets the win in the end with a disaster kick reversed into a RKO. Crowd was really into the match. Orton got one of the top pops of the night. Cody pulled top heat.
Tag match. Epico and Primo vs the Great Khali and Sin Cara. Probably the worst match of the night. Epico and Primo beat on Sin Cara then he tagged in Khali and Khali got the win with his head chops. Crowd was not into this match at all.
Wade Barrett vs. Sheamus. Great match, A lot of back and forth action with finishers reversed and all that. Crowd was really behind Sheamus and Barrett pulled a lot of heat. Sheamus won with the brogue kick.
Voters choice match. Alberto Del Rio vs Big Show for the World Heavyweight Title.
Through out the night they had been asking fans to vote for either a 2 out of 3 falls match or no DQ match. Decision was no DQ. This was the best match of the day with lots of weapons involved including a kendo stick, tables, and chairs. Big Show went through 2 tables. Del Rio got the win after putting him through the second table. Crowd was extremely into the match. This Del Rio face turn is going better than I thought it would.
Over all a great show for a house show. Quite a few TV quality matches. Could have done without the tag match though.
