Raw Tour 4th July 2009 - House Show Results
Sydney, Australia @ The Acer Arena
Attendance: 18,000
Goldust vs Chavo:
Goldust came out to a small pop, going up against Chavo. Chavo got a
few boo's while he hit the triple suplexes in succession, and also
when he went up to do the Frogsplash. Hornswoggle made an appearance
and helped Goldust get the win.
Hornswoggle hit the tad pole splash after as well, and they cheered
and pandered to the crowd a little bit before leaving with the Irish
music playing.
Seamus vs Noble:
Seamus cuts a promo how New South Wales lost in the State of Origin
football game to Queensland and that he is our new hero, and got some
decent heat for that. Seamus wins with the Rock Bottom -> Backbreaker
on the knee.
Santino vs Kendrick:
Kendrick comes out to decent heat and boo's. Santino comes out to a
huge pop. Starts off with Santino mucking around doing rolls in the
ring, evading Kendrick's attacks. Santino wins with a roll up at the
end and gets a good reaction
Miz vs MVP:
Miz cuts a promo and talks about how he should be cheered since he is
a 2-time World Tag Champ. He says how hopeless MVP is and that he
understands why teh crowd can relate with MVP since he took out the
fat chick from the View, and looking around Miz can only see Aussies
taking out their fat girlfriends. He says this is 4th of July and he
should be back at home, or like we Aussies would, "putting a shrimp on
the barbie maaaate" (with a very bad American accent) to some huge
heat. MVP got the win with the playmaker.
Regal vs Kofi:
Regal got a lot of boo's and some Aussie Ausse Aussie chants. Kofi got
a good reception and won with his finisher.
-Intermission-
Colons vs Legacy:
Not much heat or pops here worth a mention. The match picked up to the
end but was pretty slow. Both tag teams seemed a little sloppy, and
not as fast as they seemed to be on their better days. Legacy win with
a good stolen win.
Note: Ted Dibiase was wearing an upper arm bandage. Looks like he is
working through an injury.
Maryse vs Kelly Kelly:
Crowd goes nuts for the divas, probably for the T&A. Maryse disses the
fans as she comes out but everyone still tries to touch her and takes
lots of photos. Kelly got a bigger reaction though. Slow match, with
Maryse reversing a move into a DDT for the win.
Big Show & Randy Orton vs Triple H & John Cena:
Big Show comes out first to a huge pop and lots of camera flashes, but
also turns to boos. Orton same reaction, but bigger. I hit my Orton
2004 poses during this time :D.
Cena comes out first, to a huge ovation. He runs into the ring and
does his rope-to rope and throws his hat into the crowd, and his shirt
as well. HHH follows and his ovation was just bigger than Cena's. The
crowd are very into it the whole match and do not stay quiet at all
through the entire match. Lots of "Randy Sucks", "Cena", "Lets Go
Cena" and "Triple H" taunts throughout.
Randy starts off taking a long time and being very sneaky and trying
to cheat. He gets a lot of hits on Cena and HHH from the apron while
the ref is distracted.
Some good entertaining spots in the match like Cena going for an
Attitude Adjustment early on but being reversed, then an RKO attempted
but pushed away. Cena tried to pick up Show for a body slam but was
body pressed over by Show's weight. Orton was chased up the ramp and
to backstage by HHH with a steel chair after HHH was irate that the
ref was not seeing Randy's sneak attacks whilst being the illegal tag
partner in the ring and on the outside attacking Cena. Randy is not
seen again until Cena gets the STFU on Show and he disrupts the
submission.
For the finish Randy is taken out on the outside and Cena hits a huge
Attitude Adjustment on Show and HHH hits the pedigree after to follow
with the pin. They pander to the crowd on each turnbuckle. Randy leaves.
After The Main Event Match:
Show is left in the ring and stands up to be clearly knocked out and
not back altogether just yet. He is standing simply dazed with his
head going in circles. HHH and Cena look at him closely. HHH does the
"You Cant See Me" taunt to Show who is still dazed. Cena does the
same. The crowd are laughing. They both do the taunt in time together
to show. HHH pushes Show on the chest with one finger and Show falls
down very slowly to which the crowd laugh and cheer.
Show leaves and Cena and HHH are still taunting and looking around the
ring and HHH points to the left side of the arena and taunts, then
points to himself to insinuate that the cheers are for him. Cena does
a taunt to the crowd and receives a bigger ovation. This continues for
4 or 5 turns each until the crowd are absolutely erupting from one
side then to the other side. They both appear to be having a lot of
fun and getting really huge ovations from each side. They finish with
a double taunt together and leaving the crowd satisfied.
They leave together on the outside and HHH and Cena take a lot of time
out to shake hands and see the fans around the ring side. Cena hopped
on the ring announcers back on the ringside and gets him to run around
a little bit piggybacking him. HHH comes along and also jumps on his
back and they cannot move. The crowd were loving it and so were the
wrestlers. They continue to go up the ramp walking and shaking hands
and giving hi-fives.
Triple H stayed around for a bit longer than Cena at the end and went
onto the stage sides to see the fans that couldn't make it around. As
mentioned on the New Zealand report, Triple H is taking out a lot of
time now to see the fans and give them a moment.
The show in all was slow during most matches EXCEPT for the main
event, which was the one to really watch and did not disappoint at all
with Cena & HHH carrying the match very well and keeping the crowd in
their palms. The after match antics were especially great to see.
