- A video package of Christian vs. Yoshi Tatsu for the ECW title last week is shown featuring the post match beat down.

We skip the intro as the ECW champion Christian is heading to the ring and grabs a mic. He says that he wants Regal in the ring and he wants him right now! Christian says since Regal wont come to the ring he will head to the back but he is cut off by the ECW General Manger Tiffany. She tells Christian that it was her fault for Regal’s actions as she refused him a title match to which Christian tells her to book a title match tonight.

This brings out Regal who tells Christian that he holds the advantage and that he wont face Christian unless its for the title and Christian agrees. Tiffany tells both men they have a match and Christian tells her to cancel the match so Tiffany asks Regal if he wants the title match to which he says no!. He will only wrestle Christian in England next week(which I’m attending!) Tiffany then tells Regal that he has a match right now and as he attempts to get in the ring, Christian drop kicks him to the floor as we head to a break

We are back as Christian/Yoshi Tatsu vs. Kozlov/Jackson is plugged. Regal is stood in the ring as his opponent heads to the ring in the form of Goldust.

William Regal vs. Goldust

They lock up and end up in the ropes were they exchange blows which leads to them fighting on the outside before rolling to the ring and back to the outside. Following a struggle they get back in the ring as Dust uses an Atomic drop before mounting Regal and attempting 10 punches but Regal sneaks out and levels Goldust with a clothesline for the 2 count before applying a chin lock. Goldust starts to fight back with clothesline over and over again but hitting a power slam and a bulldog before missing a Stinger splash and be hit with Regal’s knee trumbler for the 3 count

Winner: William Regal

In the back, we see Zac Ryder looking at himself before Rosa Mendes walks up and start talking to him which ends up with him having a day dream about Rosa…yes you just read that right… a day stream on WWE TV! When he snaps out of it, he does his usual woo woo woo you know it

Zack Ryder vs. Shelton Benjamin

Shelton goes for a takedown before locking in a side headlock and knocking down Ryder with a shoulder block before Ryder bails to the outside and gets the upper hand by dropping Shelton across the ropes and doing the boot to the face as Shelton is sat in the corner before locking in a chinlock as the crowd get behind Shelton who starts to fight back by trading blows with Ryder and getting the upper hand by back dropping Ryder. Shelton then hit’s a stinger splash and belly to belly.

Ryder gets control again but stares at Rosa and turns around straight into a pay dirt and a victory for the Gold Standard.

We are back. Paul Burchill and Katie Lea are in the ring. They start calling out Hurricane who comes to the ring Hurri-Cane in hand and a mic in the other. Hurricane says “you want me and here I am” to which Paul says “Halloween is over” which gets a cheap pop. Hurricane points out that Katie Lea dresses like its Halloween every day. Paul states the he is perplexed that the fans boo him and cheer Hurricane which leads to Hurricane giving a list of reasons why they cheer him ending with the reason “ Chicks dig super heroes”

Paul Burchill then challenges Hurricane to a match: Paul Burchill wins, Hurricane demasks, if Hurricane wins, Paul is gone from ECW

In the back we see Abraham Washington is with Tony Atlas and they are heading to Tiffany’s asking for a new set since Regal destroyed it last week. When they get there, they are met by Vance Archer (Lance Hoyt in TNA) who stares and walks off

Kozlov & Jackson vs. Christian & Yoshi Tatsu

Tatsu and Jackson will start this out as the circle the ring before locking up and Jackson over powers Yoshi so Yoshi uses his speed and hits Jackson with a few kicks before attempting a pin which gets a 2 so Jackson tags in Kozlov.

Yoshi attempts to kick Kozlov to the floor so Kozlov hits Yoshi, throws him to the corner and tags in Jackson beats down Yoshi with a few knees before tagging in Kozlov who rams a few shoulders into the stomach of Yoshi. After a new knees and head buts, Kozlov tags in Jackson who beats down Yoshi before attempting a stinger splash which misses and allows Yoshi to tag in Christian who enters like a house on fire only being stopped when he is thrown off the top rope. Christian hit’s a DDT from the top rope before attempting and hitting the Killswitch on Kozlov

Winner: Christian & Yoshi
After the match, Regal runs down to the ring and starts brawling before Regal’s back up helps him get the upper hand and rams Christian ribs into the ring post before locking in the Regal stretch on the outside to end tonight’s show

ECW Thoughts

I liked the opening segment as it showed that Regal had finally done what every heel is meant to do in a storyline: Get inside the head of the face to a point where the face is willing to put something on the line in order to fight his foe and in this this case it’s the ECW title. I think Regal will win the belt next week as he does tend to win belts when they head over here to the UK plus it would be interesting to see Christian chasing for the belt.

Regal vs. Goldust looked really sloppy and it didn’t appear like this guys have any chemistry in the ring which is pretty surprising as they are both known as great wrestlers who put on decent matches with younger talent. I just think it was a off night for both guys

Zac Ryder having a day dream backstage was funny, it zoomed in on his eyes and showed Rosa is slow mo ala Jeff Hardy/Candice Michelle at a ppv last year.. Pure gold. I think this Rosa/Ryder storyline will lead to him getting a manager which would help him get over as a serious wrestler not just as the guy who is over due to cool music. As for his match with Shelton, it was okay with the ending setting up the storyline with Ryder/Rosa

Vance Archer aka Lance Hoyt looked okay, not awesome but not good damn awful in his debut ala Braden Walker. I think he will replace Sheamus as the big power house on ECW

Christian & Yoshi vs. Kozlov & Jackson was a glorified squash match in which Regal’s Round Table looked weak in my eyes. Kozlov hasn’t looked that bad since he got squashed by DX but I think Regal’s Round table will bounce back and help William Regal win the belt.

Overall, A show that is forgettable in my eyes, I’m hoping that next weeks tapings are much better as I will be front row so look out for a “Crelly” sign
