William Regal opens ECW as he is stood in the GM’s room where he informs us that Tiffany was in a car crash and as a result she is not here tonight but he is the interim GM. He then makes the main event of the show Christian vs. Zack Ryder.Kozlov,Zeke and Regal

After the intro package, Tony Atlas welcomes us to the Abraham Washington show and of course the host, Abraham Washington. Abe puts over the Hell in The Cell PPV and plugs Smackdown and he guest who is from Smackdown, John Morrison

Morrison walks out in slow mo and tells Atlas that he wants to save his laugh as his ring tone before Abe informs us that Morrison was the host of a former ECW show, “The Dirt Sheet” which leads to Morrison saying if this show was The Dirt Sheet, he(Morrison) would be Abe and Atlas would be The Miz. “I’m awesome” says Tony Atlas before John Morrison runs down Miz and compare him to Dolph Zigglar, who just s happens is here on ECW tonight and will be joining the show.

Zigglar sits down but before he can talk, Abe cuts him off and ends the show which annoys Dolph.

In the back, William Regal is on the phone as Zack Ryder walks in and informs Zack that tonight’s match will be Yoshi Tastu/Christian/Tommy Dreamer & Goldust vs. William Regal/Zeke/Kozlov and Zack Ryder

Paul Burchill vs. Shelton Benjamin

We are back as Paul Burchill heads to the ring for his match with Shelton who is jumped by Sheamus as he is walking down to the ring. Sheamus starts to beat down Shelton before rolling Shelton into the ring before he is escorted up the ramp

Back in the ring, Paul Burchill starts to beat down Shelton, who demanded the match carry on, and Paul goes for a few pins only getting two counts for his effort. Burchill starts to work the arm of The Gold Standard as Katie looks on at her brother’s work.
Burchill chucks Shelton shoulder first into the ring post before Shelton rolls to the outside as we head to a break

We are back as we are shown a replay of Sheamus’s attack on Shelton pre match but Shelton is fighting back but is cut off by a massive back body drop before going back to work on Shelton’s shoulder and arm with a combo of kicks and holds.

Burchill goes for a suplex but Shelton slides out the backdoor and hit’s a neck breaker before slugging it out which Burchill wins by hitting Benjamin with a massive elbow and placing Shelton on the top rope and looking like he wants to do a suerplex. Shelton has other ideas as he blocks the attempt and does some kind of dive which misses so Burchill goes back to working on the arm as his sister looks on.

Shelton starts to fight back but is once again is cut off and it looks like Burchill is going for another Shoulder block but out of no where, Shelton hit’s The Pay Dirt out of no where for the 3!

Winner: Shelton Benjamin

The main event is plugged as we head to a break

ECW is back and we are shown the highlights of the Randy Orton/John Cena feud and the Hell in the Cell card is ran down

In the back, we see Christian talking to his team about tonight’s main event and gives them a pep talk

William Regal, Kozlov,Zeke Jackson and Zack Ryder vs. Christian, Yoshi Tastu , Tommy Dreamer & Goldust

Tommy Dreamer and Zack Ryder start up with Dreamer using several arm drags before tagging in Goldust who after a few clothslines tags in Yoshi but Ryder tags in Kozlov who tags in Jackson. After Yoshi tags in Goldust, Jackson is tagged in but he soon tags in Ryder.

After a back and forth, Dust tags in Christian who uses a reverse DDT on Ryder before tagging in Dreamer who appears to get the upper hand and climb the rope but gets distracted by Regal so Ryder pulls Dreamer off the top rope and tags in Regal we go to a break

We are back as Jackson has Dreamer in a submission before throwing him half away across the ring and hitting a power slam which got a 2 count, Kozlov enters the thing and rams him shoulder into Dreamer’s stomach before tagging in Regal who after a few shots to the head of Dreamer tags in Zeke. Zeke loses control of Dreamer who tags in Christian and he enters like a bull in a china shop but gets stopped in his tracks as Kozlov low bridges the ropes sending Christian to the outside.

After suplexing Christian back in, Zeke tags in Regal who tags in Kozlov to beat down Christian. Kozlov locks in the torture rack into a fall away slam before Kozlov tags in Zack Ryder and Ryder goes back to working Christian’s midsection before tagging in Kozlov so the Russian can get himself some of the ECW champion.

Christian hit’s a massive drop kick to the face of Kozlov and this allows him to tag in Yoshi as Zeke tags in Zack Ryder. This leads to a sequence of events that sees everyone bar Yoshi and Ryder on the outside with Regal on the ring apron. Regal tags himself in and looks to knee Yoshi in the head but gets a massive round house kick to the head and that ends the match!

Winner Christian, Yoshi Tastu , Tommy Dreamer & Goldust

ECW Thoughts

Tonight’s ECW was an average show in my option as nothing went down that we will remember in a few years time and at the same time, nothing made me think I wasted an hour of my live watching the show.

Paul Burchill in my opinion is being very under used and he showed tonight that he can wrestle the likes of Shelton put on a decent match as well as brawl with bigger guys if he needs to. Whilst I’m a fan of this Hurricane/Burchill feud, I’m not sure what the idea behind the storyline is, will the winner be pushed up the card as a reward or will they keep feuding for X amount of months

Shelton one day will return to the top of ECW but I think he’s a better heel than face but he’s not a awful face ala Orton’s first title run. He is properly the most athletic guy on the roster and is a big(ish) name on ECW so this feud with Sheamus will help both guys settle on ECW and move up the card
As you can tell from my recap, The 4 vs. 4 was basically a lot of tags followed by a knee drops followed by a tag. It was good match but please WWE, no more multi man tag matches please. Everyone looked decent and with Yoshi getting the pin, this could lead to a Yoshi/Regal feud which I would like to see as it would be awesome.
