WWE Tribute To The Troops Results 12/19/12

Since 2003, the WWE has presented a show for members of the military. This year marks the tenth time that it has happened.

The show starts with comments recorded by Barack Obama. He says our men and women in uniform are the definition of duty, devotion, sacrifice, and strength. He has no higher honor or greater responsibility than to serve as the Commander in Chief of the finest military the world has known. Thanks to their service, the War in Iraq is over and the War in Afghanistan is winding down. He wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays.

We have a video package showing highlights of the previous Tribute to the Troops shows. John Cena says that he cannot believe that it has been ten years since they traveled to Baghdad for the first Tribute to the Troops. Randy Orton says that he has been overwhelmed by the men and women that they have met. Kofi Kingston says that they say it means a lot to the troops, but Kofi says that it means more to them. Miz says that they are the bravest people. CM Punk says that it made them proud to be Americans.

Kofi says that there is nothing that they can do to equate to the amount of gratitude that they have for the troops. They can do the show to say thank you. Other wrestlers say thank you.

We are in Norfolk, Virginia and your announcers are Michael Cole and John Layfield.

Michael Cole mentions that John Layfield had the idea for Tribute to the Troops and John says that it was the WWE who went ahead and started to do this after he suggested it.


Match Number One: Sheamus and Randy Orton versus Big Show and Dolph Ziggler


Orton and Ziggler start things off and they lock up. Ziggler backs Orton into the corner and the referee separates them but Ziggler with kicks and punches. The referee pulls Ziggler out of the corner again and Orton with a kick. Ziggler with an Irish whip but you don’t Irish whip Orton into the corner and he comes out with a clothesline. Orton with a European uppercut followed by a slingshot suplex.

Orton gets a near fall and then he stomps on the hand. Ziggler wti a kick but Orton sends Ziggler into the air. Orton drop kicks Show off the apron and then Orton sends Ziggler over the top rope to the floor. Sheamus goes for a Brogue Kick on Show but Show gets to the floor.

Show and Ziggler go up the ramp and the referee makes the ten count.


Winners: Randy Orton and Sheamus


Booker T comes out and he says that this match will not end like that. Booker says that the match will be restarted and will continue until there is a decisive winner.

We go to commercial.

We are back and the match has been restarted during the commercial break.

Sheamus tags Orton back in and he kicks Ziggler. Orton with a belly-to-back suplex and he gets a near fall. Sheamus tags in and he connects with a knee to Ziggler. Sheamus sends Ziggler into the turnbuckles and connects with a forearm. Ziggler with punches and kicks. Ziggler with a drop kick.

Show refuses to make the tag and he checks on his boot. Show tells Ziggler to turn around. Sheamus with a running double sledge. Sheamus with forearms across the chest with Ziggler on the apron. Sheamus gets a near fall. Orton tags back in and he stomps on the hand. Orton sends Ziggler into the turnbuckles and Orton climbs the turnbuckles and punches Ziggler ten times.

Orton with an Irish whip but he runs into an uppercut. Show punches Orton from behind. Ziggler with boots to Orton. Ziggler with a drop kick to Orton and he gets a near fall. Show tags in and he punches Orton and connects with head butts. Show draws Sheamus into the ring and the referee is distracted. Show misses the Shhhh chop.

Orton with punches but he appears to have injured his shoulder. Show with a head butt to the shoulder and Ziggler tags in. Ziggler works on the good arm and Orton with head butts. Show tags back in and so does Sheamus. Sheamus with punches to Show and then he hits a shoulder into the corner. Sheamus with a running knee lift and a flying forearm.

Show tries for the choke slam but Sheamus escapes the hold and hits White Noise but Ziggler breaks up the cover. Orton with an RKO on Ziggler and then he hits an RKO on Big Show. Sheamus sets for the Brogue Kick and he connects and gets the three count.


Winners: Sheamus and Randy Orton


We go to commercial.

We are back and Fergie has some words for the troops. Members of the US Women’s Olympic Gymnastics Team also have something to say to the troops.

Layla is in the dressing room getting ready and Gonzo is in there with Pepe and Rizzo. Gonzo tells them what to expect. He is going to launch himself off an aircraft carrier and leaves. Rizzo tells Pepe that he saw Layla first.

Layla says hello to them and she appears to be smitten by rats. Rizzo says that she probably likes exotic cheese too.

Flo Rida performs for the crowd.

Josh Mathews is in the interview area with John Cena. He asks John what it is like to be part of Tribute to the Troops. He says that from the first time in Baghdad to today in Norfolk, it is always an honor and a privilege to say thank you the best way possible . . . by inviting them to be part of the WWE Universe. You can be loud and get excited. The WWE Universe is fueled by excitement. The audience has the excitement and they are special. They provide the excitement but they also provide us with courage, protection, and freedom. Tonight it is about them enjoying what the WWE does for them.

We are back and Alberto Del Rio says that we pay tribute to the troops. He wants to acknowledge his personal ring announcer Ricardo Rodriguez. Alberto says that it is Ricardo’s birthday and he wants everyone to sing Happy Birthday with him.

The song is interrupted by Ryback’s music.


Match Number Two: Alberto Del Rio (with Ricardo Rodriguez) versus Ryback


Del Rio with a kick and punches to Ryback and a head butt. Ryback presses Del Rio over his head and drops him behind him. Ricardo gets on the apron and Ryback grabs him but Del Rio with kicks to the leg and back. Del Rio with kicks and he chokes Ryback in the corner. Ryback with shoulders followed by a running power slam. Ryback sets for the lariat but Ricardo grabs Ryback and the referee calls for the bell.


Winner:Ryback (by disqualification)


Ryback with a lariat to Ricardo and then to Del Rio. Ryback picks up Ricardo and gives him the marching muscle buster for a birthday present.

Ryback gets Del Rio and hits the marching muscle buster on him.

We go to commercial.

We are back and it is time for Kid Rock to perform.

Josh Mathews is in the back and he knocks on Kermit’s door. Fozzie opens the door and Josh asks Fozzie if Kermit is nervous. Fozzie says that Kermit has butterflies in his stomach, but he normally has mosquitoes. Fozzie says that Kermit is nervous because there is nothing bigger than MizTV.

Statler and Waldorf comment on what Fozzie just said about MizTV and Statler says that he has liver spots bigger than MizTV. Waldorf says they are more entertaining.

We go to commercial.

We are back and it is time for MizTV. His guest is at the center of controversy. He leads a scandalous life. Miz says that he will expose them tonight. Miz brings out Kermit.

Kermit tells Miz that it is an honor to see the men and women of the Armed Forces. Miz says that Kermit must think it is an honor to be with the Miz. Miz wants to expose Kermit. Kermit says that is strange to expose him because he is already naked.

Miz asks about a woman. Miz says that he wants to know the truth. Kermit says that it is still ‘Don’t Ask . . . Don’t Tell’. Miz says that won’t work here. He wants answers. Kermit says that he thought Miz was a good guy. Miz says that he is not a good guy or a bad guy . . . he’s the Miz . . . and he’s AWESOME.

Miz brings out his second guest and it is Miss Piggy.

Miz asks Kermit if he loves Miss Piggy. Does he want to marry her? Will he forego a prenup? Will the kids keep kosher?

Kermit says they are a simple frog and a lovely pig who care about each other. Miz throws out a really. Kermit says really. Piggy says really. We get a circle of reallys. Miz suggests that Kermit and Miss Piggy get married right now.

Miz wants to know if everyone wants to see Kermit and Miss Piggy get married.

Damien Sandow comes out and Kermit is relieved. Kermit then shows outrage that Damien came out to interrupt.

Damien says that the only outrage besides the interspecies marriage is this show. Damien asks Mr. Mizanin what is up. The people respected him and they were inspired by him. Now he is talking to a frog and pig.

Damien says that the troops are not inspired by her. If his calculations are correct . . . and they always are, seventy-eight percent of the people have taken their pictures of Miss Piggy and their loved ones, and they have replaced them with photos of Damien Sandow.

Damien demands silence from the porcine provocateur. Damien says that he does not understand why anyone . . . Damien demands silence when he is talking. Damien says that he does not know why anyone would marry Miss Piggy . . . other than the Miz. They are both obnoxious, overrated hams.

Kermit wants to play peacekeeper.

Miz stops Miss Piggy from hitting Sandow and Miz punches Sandow.

Match Number Three: Miz versus Damien Sandow


The match is joined in progress and Sandow kicks Miz and punches him. Sandow sends Miz into he turnbuckles and connects with shoulders and punches. Sandow with another punch. Miz with a back elbow and then he punches Sandow in the corner. Sandow with an Irish whip but Miz sends Sandow to the apron.

Miz goes through the legs and pulls Sandow off the apron. Miz hot shots Sandow on the ringside barrier. Miz sends Sandow back into the ring and then Sandow kicks Miz when he returns to the ring and Sandow punches Miz.

Sandow with a side Russian leg sweep followed by the Elbow of Disdain and it connects. Sandow gets a near fall. Sandow with forearms across the chest and he applies a reverse chin lock. We see Kermit and Miss Piggy watching the action.

Sandow with a kick but Miz with a flapjack and clothesline. Miz with a back body drop. Miz with the neck breaker but Sandow escapes the second neck breaker in the Reality Check. Sandow with a shoulder to the midsection followed by a flip neck breaker. Sandow gets a near fall but the cover is lackadaisical and Miz gets the three count with a rollup.


Winner: The Miz


After the match, Miz goes to celebrate with Miss Piggy and Kermit. Miss Piggy kisses Miz.

We go to commercial.

We are back and we get comments from members of the Miami Heat. Katie Couric also has something to say to the troops.

It is time for another performance by Flo Rida.

It is time to take a look back the nine previous Tribute to the Troops Shows.

Daniel Bryan and Kane are in the back. Bryan says that they were told to pick a tag team partner to face 3MB tonight, but since neither of them want a tag team partner, he found the perfect one. . . Little Jimmy. Kane says that he likes the way that Bryan thinks.

R Truth says that he has some good news and some great news. The good news is that Little Jimmy’s cousin Ugly Frieda finally found someone to marry her and Little Jimmy is on his way to the wedding. The great news is that they will be teaming with the Suntan Superman.

Kane blames Daniel and Daniel says that it is not his fault. He says No.

We hear someone saying yes and Bryan turns around and it is Animal. Bryan says no while Animal says Yes. Animal says bye bye goat face. Bryan says that he does not have a goat face and he turns around again and sees a goat. The goat calls him cousin Daniel.

We go to commercial.


Match Number Four: Daniel Bryan, Kane, and R Truth versus 3MB


Truth and Drew start things off and Drew with a kick and forearm. Truth does the pelvic thrust and then he punches Drew. Bryan tags in and he kicks Drew and connects with a European uppercut. Bryan with kicks in the corner and he tells the referee that he has until five.

Drew with an Irish whip and Drew knows that Bryan might try for a back flip out of the corner so he kicks Bryan and gets a near fall. Slater tags in and he kicks Bryan and connects with a forearm. Slater with punches to Bryan in the corner and the referee pulls Slater out of the corner.

Slater punches Bryan and tags in Mahal. Mahal with a kick to the midsection followed by a knee drop for a near fall. Mahal with a rear chin lock. Bryan lands on his feet on a belly-to-back suplex attempt by Mahal. Bryan with a flying clothesline. Kane and Slater tag in and Kane with two clotheslines into the corner followed by a side slam for a near fall.

Kane goes up top and hits the clothesline. Kane signals for the choke slam but Drew distracts him. Bryan with a running knee off the apron to Drew. Kane grabs Slater and Mahal by the throat but they stop Kane. Truth makes the blind tag. Kane with a boot to Slater and then he choke slams Mahal. Truth hits the Little Jimmy on Slater for the three count.


Winners: Kane, Daniel Bryan, and R Truth


We go to commercial.

We are back with another performance by Kid Rock.

Josh Mathews is in the interview area with the United States Champion Antonio Cesaro. Josh asks Antonio how he feels about facing John Cena. Antonio says that this is not being held in Switzerland because they are neutral. Unlike some countries, they don’t stick their nose where they don’t belong. That is why Switzerland is the greatest country in the world. Every country wishes that they could be Switzerland. That is why every superstar wishes they could be Antonio Cesaro. He says that he will not be neutral tonight, he is going to be what he always is . . . superior.

We go to commercial with John Cena walking in the back and he salutes Sam the Eagle.

We are back and Kellan Lutz has some thoughts about the troops. Sharon Stone also has some comments about the troops.

Miss Piggy, Kermit, Gonzo, and Pepe introduce John Cena.


Match Number Five: John Cena versus Antonio Cesaro in a Non Title Match


They lock up and Cesaro with a side head lock. Cena with a hip toss and then he gets the crowd to chant ‘USA’. Cesaro retreats to the apron and then he goes to the floor and tells Cena that he is a champion. Cena attacks Cesaro from behind and brings him back into the ring.

Cena with an Irish whip and bulldog. Cesaro with a kick followed by European uppercuts. Cesaro with a hard Irish whip followed by a head butt and he kicks Cena to the floor. Cesaro tries to send Cena’s head into the announce table but Cena blocks him and he sends Cesaro’s head into the announce table. Cesaro Irish whips Cena into the ring steps.

They return to the ring and Cesaro gets a near fall. Cesaro with a dead lift side salto on Cena for a near fall. Cesaro with a chin lock using Cena’s arm for extra pressure. Cena and Cesaro exchange punches and forearms. Cesaro with a European uppercut. Cena with two shoulder tackles followed by a Blue Thunder Bomb. Cena with the five knuckle shuffle and then he gets Cesaro up for the Attitude Adustment and the three count.


Winner: John Cena


The WWE roster comes out onto the stage to applaud the troops.

John Cena gets a mic and he says that it was a great night. He thanks the Muppets, Kid Rock, and Flo Rida. John says that they want to thank the people behind the barricade. The men, the women, the children of the very foundation of America and the reason why we remain the greatest free nation on the face of the Earth. He says that everyone wants to thank the people in the building.

John says that there is one more thing and we see a number of wrestlers leading Santa and his sleigh to the ring. The reindeer are The Usos, Justin Gabriel, Darren Young, Titus O’Neil, Tyson Kidd, Yoshi Tatsu, Zack Ryder, and Santino Marella as Rudolph.
