Jun 5, 2014 - 11:44:29 PM
A video package recapped NXT Takeover. It primarily focused on Zayn vs. Breeze, Charlotte vs. Natalya, and Neville vs. Kidd… The opening video played… In the arena, ring announcer Eden informed everyone that the no. 1 contender to the NXT Title, Tyler Breeze, had entered the building. Mojo Rawley made his entrance. He got a cut-in promo and referred to what happened to him at Takeover. He said just like America, when he gets knocked down he gets back up. Aiden English sang himself to the ring. His song was about how Mojo failed the U.S.A.
1. Aiden English vs. Mojo Rawley. Mojo's trunks are absurd. He looked like he was going to hit his finishing sequence out of the gate but English cut him off with a clothesline and took control. English hit a swinging neckbreaker for a one-count and then settled into a headlock. Mojo reversed an attempted monkey flip and made his comeback. He hit the butt-butt and Hyperdrive for the win…
Mojo Rawley over Aiden English in about 2:50.
The commentators claimed that Mojo had redeemed himself after Takeover. The commentators: Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton, and William Regal threw to a video package that focused on Tyson Kidd's frustration following his loss at Takeover… Backstage Devin Taylor interviewed Natalya. Nattie said that Tyson did a phenomenal job at Takeover and no matter what she'll always have his back… Scott Stanford hyped Charlotte vs. Bayley coming up next…
Bayley made her entrance which now includes four inflatable arm-flailing tubemen. Tom Phillips did the Family Guy bit from like 2006 and cracked himself up like it was relevant. Awkward. Bayley was wearing a bunch of headbands and gave them out to people in the front row. New NXT Women's Champion Charlotte was out next accompanied by Sasha Banks.
2. NXT Women's Champion Charlotte (w/ Sasha Banks) vs. Bayley in a non-title match. The crowd opened the match with a loud "Bayley" chant as Bayley got the better of an armdrag series and then hit a nice diving lucha-style armdrag. Charlotte took control with a weak looking clothesline moments later. Charlotte used several handstand knee drops as the commentators briefly breezed over the history between the two ladies in the match.
Charlotte did her Figure-Four necklock series of moves before Bayley began to fire back. Bayley hit a big running thrust and elbow in the corner before sliding to ringside to deal with Sasha. Back in the ring, Bayley came off the top rope with a diving back-elbow for a two-count. Charlotte regained control when Summer Rae's music hit and she made her entrance like there wasn’t even a match happening. Back in the ring, Bayley tried to capitalize but Charlotte hit Hail to the Queen seconds later for the win.
Charlotte beat Bayley in about 4:15.
In the ring, Summer raised Charlotte's hand before the three heels put the boots to Bayley. Paige's music hit and she made the save alongside Emma to a good reaction from the crowd… Backstage, Jason Jordan and Tye Dillinger did a weird promo where they said "boom boom boom Jason Jordan/Tye Dillinger!"
A video package recapped the NXT Title match at Takeover and The Ascension's domination of that division... The team of Jason Jordan and Tye Dillinger made their entrance. Their opponents were already in the ring.
3. Jason Jordan and Tye Dillinger vs. Stewart Cumberland and Phillip Gouljar. Jordan worked over Cumberland before Dillinger got a turn as well. The commentators talked about Jordan's collegiate wrestling background and said Dillinger played semi-pro hockey in Canada. They didn't mention the years of pro wrestling all over the world however. Gouljar appeared to show some fight but Dillinger planted him with a double-arm suplex and brought Jordan back in.
The enhancement team took control of Dillinger for a short time after the four-minute mark. Dillinger eventually made the tag to Jordan who hit a scary looking flapjack on Gouljar. Jordan hit an Angle Slam a short time later for the win…
Jordan and Dillinger won in about 5:55.
CJ Parker was shown in the crowd with a sign that said "May the forest be with you…" Backstage, Charlotte asked Summer what was up with interrupting her match and Summer played it off like it was nothing. She talked about how her head-on-a-stick was such a good picture for them to use. She left and Charlotte and Sasha gave each other a look… Tyler Breeze's music video world premier was hyped up next…
Back in the arena, Tyler Breeze made his entrance. In the ring, he said at Takeover he beat Seth Rogen's less-good-looking brother to become number one contender. The crowd started a loud "Ole" chant before Breeze said that he was on his way to wearing a title that was so pristine it needed to be worn by someone gorgeous. Breeze said that match will happen when he decides. He said he's going to keep "the man that Maybelline forgot" Adrian Neville on his toes until then. He then threw to a music video for his new entrance them that was dedicated to all of his fans …even the uggos." The video was mostly clips of him singing in the studio.
Back in the ring, Breeze put the mic down so he could applaud himself… Scott Stanford hyped the main event up next… [C]
The commentators implored viewers to go be a part of the NXT experience. The then threw to a video package of Bo Dallas losing to Big E and being banished from NXT. It included a bunch of footage that wasn't even shown on the episode that it occurred on. Hilarious stuff…
Back in the arena, Justin Gabriel made his entrance with new music and new gear. NXT Champion Adrian Neville was out next.
4. NXT Champion Adrian Neville vs. Justin Gabriel in a non-title match. Neville managed to out-maneuver Gabriel in the opening minute before a few idiots in the crowd started a "U-S-A" chant. Ugh. Neville and Gabriel showed off their athleticism before Neville reversed Gabriel's attempt at a dive through the ropes. Neville followed up with a flipping senton off the apron before settling into an armlock in the ring. [C]
Back from break, Justin Gabriel was somehow back in control. Neville fired back a short time later with his series of kicks and a diving missile dropkick. Neville stalked Gabriel and attempted a tilt-a-whirl DDT but Gabriel halted his momentum and reversed it into a nice Northern Lights suplex for a two-count. Gabriel attempted a springboard Moonsault but Neville avoided it. Gabriel connected with a dropkick when Neville attempted a springboard move and got another two-count off of it.
Gabriel went to the top rope for the 450 but again Neville moved. Neville hit a low dropkick to Gabriel seated in the corner and followed up with the Red Arrow for the clean win.
Adrian Neville defeated Justin Gabriel in about 7:30.
After the match, Tyson Kidd made his entrance. The crowd berated him with a chant of "Nattie's husband" and Kidd said he deserved that after what happened after their match at Takeover. He said he was embarrassed about the way he action and said he was sorry. He said Neville beat him at Takeover, but next time they got in the ring Kidd would win. He asked Neville for one more shot at the title and Neville agreed.
