The Ultimate Finale Quick Results

Lightweight Bout –
Joe Stevenson (34-10) v. Nate Diaz (10-3)
Referee: Steve Mazzagatti
Round 1 Overview -
Diaz came out strong and went for a guillotine on Stevenson but he quickly fought it off. Stevenson dominated the rest of the round after sinking in one of the deepest and sickest guillotines he ever has and providing level ground and pound. However, Diaz escaped to round two.

Round 2 Overview -
Diaz once again came out strong but Stevenson got the upper hand and kept control and pressure on Diaz for the rest of the round. Diaz went for an arm bar in the last few seconds but Stevenson easily fended it off.

Round 3 Overview -
Stevenson came out wanting a fist bump but Diaz shook it off. Diaz took control early on by throwing Stevenson over his shoulder and attempting to mount. Stevenson shook it off and regained control for the rest of the round, keeping Diaz against the cage and on the ground.

Lightweight Finale –
Andre Winner (10-2-1) v. Ross Pearson (10-3)
Referee: Herb Dean
Round 1 Overview -
Pearson set the pace early on with multiple shots. Both fighters knew one another and countered every move the other made. Pearson caught a cup check towards the end of the round but recovered. Coming back both men hit a flurry of blows and some dirty boxing to end the round.

Round 2 Overview -
Pearson came out strong once again, attempted octagon control and pushed the pace heavily to gain the favor of the judges. Winner took brief control before Pearson regained composure with multiple body shots, knees and uppercuts. Pearson kept Winner pressed against the cage for the remainder of the round but allowed him to hit another flurry as the horn blew.
Round 2 Score - Winner 10 | Pearson 9
Round 3 Overview -
Probably the hardest fought round by both fighters. Pearson stayed strong and even though he was obviously tired and worn Winner put on a great show. They traded blows and stood toe to toe against the cage to end the fight.

Lightweight Bout -
Kevin Burns (10-3) v. Chris Lytle (32-17-5)
Referee: Herb Dean
Round 1 Overview -
Both men came out swinging and scrambling, looking for a weakness in the other. Burns got the upper hand early on and kept it through out the fight. He nailed Lytle with an uppercut and right hand towards the end of the round and kept the heat on until the horn blew.

Round 2 Overview -
Lytle rocks Burns twice within the first twenty seconds and doesn’t let up. Burns turns the heat back on, hits his own uppercut and a flying knee. Lytle suffered two-cup shots during the round but recovered each time and stayed dominant through out the entire round.
Round 2 Score - Lytle 10 | Burns 9
Round 3 Overview -
Lytle immediately caught a leg kick and landed an overhead right cutting Burns’ cheek wide open. Lytle kept the round and landed a minimum of eight more right hands to Burns’ cheek but never rocking or dropping him. Burns fired right back with a few brutal body kicks and jabs of his own down to the bell.

Welterweight Finale –
James Wilks (6-2) v. DaMarques Johnson (14-6)
Referee: Steve Mazzagatti
Round 1 Overview -
Wilks came out wanting to hurt DaMarques; he rocked him right out of the gate and stayed dominant. Two heel hooks were almost sunk but Johnson pulled out. Wilks then put on a clinic of ju-jitsu, constantly passing Johnson’s guard, attempted two oma platas and a triangle before sinking in a rear naked to make Johnson tap.

Lightweight Bout –
Clay Guida (25-6) v. Diego Sanchez (22-2)
Referee:
Round 1 Overview -
Diego rocked Guida with a flurry of blows and flying knees for the first minute of the round. Guida fought back for the first few seconds before becoming dominated. Guida was finally able to get a take down and score full guard. Diego hits a sick leg kick to Guida’s head that almost knocked him out on his feet but Guida recovered. Diego spent the rest of the round teeing off.
Round 1 Score - Sanchez 10 | Guida 9
Round 2 Overview -
Guida shot in immediately and took Sanchez down. He worked predominantly from the top but Sanchez kept brutalizing him with elbows from the bottom eventually busting Guida’s head open. Guida attempted to keep control but continued to eat elbows for the round.
Round 2 Score - Sanchez 10 | Guida 9
Round 3 Overview -
A round much like the first where both men wanted to hang and bang. Guida got up on Sanchez before Sanchez unloaded different combos to take control. Guida took Sanchez down and tried to stay in high guard but Sanchez kept going for a kimura. Standing back up they both unleashed flurries to end the fight.
