Backstage News on Eric Young's World Title Reign, Another Big Name Helping TNA Creative
By Marc Middleton
Apr 18, 2014 - 10:13:57 AM

- As noted earlier, Vince Russo is working for the TNA creative team as a consultant. Word is that Eric Bischoff is also doing storyline consulting. Apparently there is less than three months left on both of their contracts.

- TNA is trying to move away from Eric Young's goofy character in hopes they can turn around the perception that people have of Young and repackage him as a credible champion. Part of the reason TNA put the World Heavyweight Title on Young is to get some cross-promotion from his Animal Planet show, Off The Hook: Extreme Catches. Season three of that show debuts on June 16th. TNA is planning to spend the next two months getting Young over as champion to coincide with the return of his show.
