WWF Sunday Night HEAT August 26, 2001 Commentators: Michael Cole and Al Snow Hosts: Commissioner Regal and Tajiri
The show opens with a limo pulling up to WWF NY. Commissioner Regal and Tajiri get out of the limo. Tajiri is clad in an ’I (heart) NY’ shirt and NY ball cap. The Sunday Night HEAT titles play and Michael Cole welcomes us to WWF NY. (Snow is wearing a adidas bucket hat.)
We go to the first match.
Albert vs. Hugh Morrus They lock up in the middle of the ring. Hugh puts Albert in the headlock. Albert pushes Hugh into the ropes. Albert goes for a body block but Hugh doesn’t fall down. They mouth each other. Albert gives Hugh a clothesline. Albert kicks Hugh in the face. Hugh is back up and Albert punches him. Albert is thrown into the ropes and Hugh gives him a body slam. Hugh throws Albert into face first into the corner. Hugh follows him in and jumps on him. Hugh gives Albert bodyslam and covers for two. Hugh mouths the Ref. Both are up. Hugh throws Albert into the corner and follows again. Albert puts his leg up. Albert punches Hugh. Albert gives Hugh the Baldo bomb. Three count. Winner: Albert
Snow and Cole talk about HHH’s appearance on Excess. Cole says it was a great first show and they received 14,000 emails.
WWF JVC Gig of the week (!?!) – Kurt Angle driving the milk truck into the Arena and hosing everyone down with milk.

We come back and Regal and Tajiri are backstage. Tajiri is looking at a girly magazine. Tajiri motions to Regal that the woman has a nice chest. Regal orders him to go to the bathroom and wash his mouth. When Tajiri leaves, Regal seems to get a little warm under the collar looking at the pictures.
Hardcore & Crash Holly vs. Chuck Palumbo & Sean O'Haire Palumbo and Hardcore start off. They lock up in the middle. Hardcore pushes Palumbo into the corner. Palumbo punches Hardcore out of the corner. Palumbo punches Hardcore again and knocking him to the matt. Palumbo grabs Hardcore’s arm and gives him a few body blocks. Hardcore punches back. Hardcore punches Palumbo to the matt. Hardcore slaps Palumbo’s head. Hardcore tags. Crash is up on the top rope. Crash flies onto Palumbo knocking him down. Crash covers for a one count. Palumbo throws Crash into the rope and O’Haire puts his leg up into Crash’s backs. Palumbo gives Crash a spine buster. Palumbo holds Crash down for a two count. Palumbo tags. O’Haire knocks Crash down and covers for two. Hardcore jumps in and stops the count. O’Haire tags. Palumbo attacks Crash with a few punches. Back in O’Haire and Palumbo’s corner. Palumbo tags. Palumbo holds Crash while O’Haire kicks him. O’Haire puts Crash into a submission hold. O’Haire pulls Crash back to their corner and tags Palumbo. Palumbo is on the attack again knocking Crash to the ground a few times. Palumbo with a quick tag. O’Haire gives Crash a nasty bodyslam. O’Haire covers for two. O’Haire tags. Palumbo throws Crash into the corner and follows. Crash lifts his boot. Crash hops up on the top rope and gives Palumbo a Tornado DDT. Crash makes the tag. Hardcore is in with a vengeance. Hardcore knocks both Palumbo and O’Haire down with clotheslines. Hardcore throws Palumbo into the ropes and slams into him. O’Haire is back in the ring. Hardcore clotheslines O’Haire. Hardcore covers O’Haire for two. Hardcore tags. Crash and gives O’Haire a huricanrana. O’Haire jumps up and goes for a clothesline, but misses. All four men are in the ring. O’Haire is in one corner and Palumbo the other. Hardcore and Crash grab them to throw them together in the middle of the ring. O’Haire reverses as does Palumbo – Palumbo meets Crash with a kick to the face. Palumbo and Hardcore take it outside of the ring. Palumbo makes his way around to one side of the ring. O’Haire throws Crash into the ropes, Plaumbo hits Crash in the back with his knee. O’Haire rolls Crash up in a small package for the three count. (Palumbo holds Hardcore outside of the ring.) Winners: Chuck Palumbo & O'Haire
We are taken to a few clips recapping what happened last week on Tough Enough. Mick Foley was the guest. (It was really a great show. This makes week #3 that has made me tear up.) Al got very rough with Chris Ni (little Chris). It was shocking! They took us through Maven’s scare with his Mom. She was in the hospital battling with cancer.

WWF Slim Jim Smack of the night – Booker T assaulting Tajiri in their match last week.
Commissioner Regal’s music plays. Regal and Tajiri come to the announcer’s table. Al welcomes them both to the stand.
Spike Dudley vs. Chavo Guerrero Jr. Chavo attacks Spike. Spike gives Chavo an arm drag. ~We are taken back and forth between the match and the announcers. (Regal, Tajiri, Snow, and Cole)~ Spike is down in the corner. Chavo kicks Spike in the gut a few times. Chavo gives Spike a suplex. Chavo covers for two. Chavo kicks Spike again. ~We go back to the announcers. Snow puts a little Statue of Liberty crown on Tajiri. The fans give him some nice pops in his new hat.~ Chavo throws Spike into the corner and follows. Spike jumps up and wraps his legs around Chavo’s neck throwing him outside the ring. Chavo is lying on the grown and Spike jumps on him. They are both back in the ring. Chavo goes on the attack again. Chavo throws Spike into the corner. Chavo lifts Spike up and lays him on the ropes. He goes up on top and gives Spike an elbow drop knocking him down to the matt. Chavo tries to give Spike a suplex but Spike flips over him. Spike gives Chavo the Dudley Dog and covers for three. Winner: Spike Dudley

We come back and see a cop at Snow’s truck giving him a parking ticket.
Lance Storm vs. Scotty 2 Hotty Lance goes after Scotty outside the ring but Scotty moves (Lance with a face plant on the outside of the ring). They are both in the ring. Lance is on the attack again. Scotty changes momentum, shoving Lance into the corner. Lance bounces back towards Scotty. He rolls Lance up for a two count. Lance changes momentum, slamming Scotty to the matt. Lance throws Scotty into the corner and follows. He throws Scotty into the ropes and knocks him to the matt. Lance kicks Scotty a few times while he’s on the matt. Lance throws Scotty into the corner and follows. Scotty lifts up this feet. Scotty gives Lance a few clotheslines. Scotty gives Lance a huge backdrop. Scotty gives Lance a bulldog. Then the W O R M and the INTENSE chop. Lance roles out of the ring after the chop. Scotty throws Lance back in the ring. Scotty goes up on the top rope. Scotty jumps over and Lance and tries to role him up. Lance roles right out of it. Lance puts Scotty in a half Boston Crab. Scotty taps out. Winner: Lance Storm
We go to a few clips recapping Excess. HHH looks great. (though his knee looks very ‘ewh’.) HHH says he doesn’t care about anyone in the WWF or The Alliance, they are all going to have to face HHH when he gets back. Backstage: Regal is shown reading a book and about to eat a cookie. Tajiri runs in knocks the cookie out of Regal’s hand and dumps all of the cookies off the table. Tajiri is yelling something. Regal says that the cookies are not Debra’s. They walk out for their interview…

We come back to Snow and Cole sitting on the stage. Cole welcomes Commissioner Regal and Tajiri to the stage. The fans start a ‘Tajiri’ chant. Tajiri asks for a Regal chant and the fans compile. Cole asks why he made the Y2J/Austin match a WWF Title match. A fan yells, “Because he is the man.” Regal chants start up again. Regal finally is allowed to speak. He says yes he can sanction title matches. He feels that Angle was robbed at SummerSlam. Regal gets more pops from the crowd. He also said he was giving Y2J the attention he deserves. The crowd goes wild again. Snow asks about The Rock taking the title from Booker T at SummerSlam. ~He prompts Tajiri to answer.~ Tajiri impersonates Rock and smells. He holds the mic up and does the Rock's “lalalalalala”. (hilarious) Regal looks at Tajiri and says this is no way to make a living. Cole asks what is his relationship with Tajiri. Snow asks Regal if Tajiri will do anything for him. Tajiri shakes his head yes and does his wild giggle. Regal says he spotted Tajiri long ago and knew he would be a great WWF Superstar, which is what he is becoming. Cole hopes the WWF can put this to an end to The Alliance in the next couple of weeks. Regal plugs the Rock having the WCW Title. He feels that the WWF will be back on top very soon.

Cole and Snow plug Unforgiven. Unforgiven is just around the corner – Sunday, September 23rd in Pittsburgh, PA.
We are taken to a few clips of the Steve Austin Appreciation Night. We are forced to listen to Steph screech the words to ‘wind beneath our ring’. They play clips of some of the Alliance members singing up to Angle driving the milk truck up to the ring. Snow and Cole comment on what a slap to Austin’s ego that was ending the show.
