WWF Excess, August 25th, 2001 Hosts: Jonathan Coachman and Trish Stratus. Special Guest Host: Triple H
They start off the show by showing Triple H's injury back in late May when he injured his leg and was put out of action.
Coachman and Stratus are shown. They say they will be live each Saturday night. Trish says Coach has wormed his way into her datebooks every Saturday night now. Coach says this was the only way he could do it. They say they will address Triple H as they show him getting ready in the back. Coach gives the phone number for Excess. Coach says enough with the formalities, it's time to start the show. They have lots of stuff to do, and only 2 hours to do it in. They address Summerslam, and the Austin vs. Angle match highlights are shown. Coach says Angle should be the WWF champion by now but Angle got some measure of revenge, on Monday Night RAW on Austin Appreciation Night. They show clips from Austin Appreciation Night. Starting with Stephanie's horrible horrible rendition of "Wind Beneath My Wings". Followed by Chavo's, Terri's, Raven's and Credible's solos. Finally ending with Angle's milk and milk carton hose-down. Trish says it looks like Austin has some milk to go along with those cookies. Trish says they will hook Kurt Angle up to the phonelines and they'll be talking to him about the recent events later on in the show.
Triple H is shown on his way out to the studio.

Coach addresses Trish's injury and Trish says she's recovering and soon she'll have her Stratus strut again. They now address Triple H's injury one more time. Clips are shown from Triple H's operation and time in the hospital. In the clips, Triple H says it was important for him to finish the match even after he had torn his Quadriceps. He says as he was getting The Walls Of Jericho he says he knew it was gonna be brutal since he had already been badly injured. Coachman says we're about to find out how he's feeling. He is the Game, he is Triple H.
"It's All About The Game." Triple H's music and video are played and here he comes. Trish offers Triple H a hug and HHH says last time he hugged her it got flipped around and he got a lamp thrown at his head. He says he'll settle with a handshake.
HHH says it's great to be back and with his music playing and all that he's getting a charge. He says he's glad to get away from his rehab in Birmingham, Alabama. HHH says the second the injury happened he thought he got shot in the leg but after a while he knew he had torn his quad. He says he knew a torn quad is not a good thing and he knew he'd be out 6 months. He said they needed to drill holes in his kneecap. He says in another 3 months he'll be back. They show the actual scar on his knee. Coachman says it's 12 inches long. HHH says he knows it's not a 12 inch scar..Coach may want to say it's a 12 inch scar but he says it's not and the people at home can even tell it's clearly not..and HHH says Trish knows it's not twelve inches..wink wink.
Caller Greg has a question for HHH. HHH says he hopes it's not about Trish's boobs. Greg says that's pretty self-explanatory.
Greg asks, with Stephanie on the Alliance side, will HHH be Alliance or WWF?
HHH says it doesn't matter who they are, or what side they play for or what t-shirt they where. When he comes back he's gonna beat whoever it takes to get him back at the top and every one of them, Alliance or WWF are gonna have to beat The Game.

Coach asks what goes through his mind when he sees the footage of the injury taking place. HHH says it looks like it's part of an everyday match, he planted his leg and went down. HHH says the Walls of Jericho were probably what really hurt the leg.
They show clips of March 26th, the day Shane McMahon bought WCW right from under Vince's nose. HHH says watching RAW and Nitro on the exact same show was an incredible night. HHH says that in WCW, it's miserable, you're being held down, the old guys are at the top, no matter how much talent you had it didn't matter. HHH says you got a bunch of guys that are so hungry that they will do anything that the WWF has, to have all the fame, all the glory. all the fans.
Michael is on the phone now.
Michael asks if HHH has talked to Kevin Nash lately and what's his opinions about people like Nash and Steiner coming into the WWF.
HHH says he and Nash are good friends. He says that Nash is biding his time right now, will he come in? HHH doesn't know. HHH says he'd like all those guys from WCW to come in. He says he will go through every person in the industy to get back to where he was, back at the top. Friend or foe, Nash or not.
Coach asks HHH about the ECW. They show Heyman and Shane McMahon merging the WCW and ECW and also Stephanie's purchase of ECW. Trish asks HHH that his wife has created an interesting environment for HHH to come back to. HHH says Vince has quite a look on his face. HHH says he raised those kids, he should know them better. Vince says that Steph and Shane are trying to run him out of the business, just as Vince would do.
Next is an e-mail question about Test and Stephanie's relationship. HHH says they're adults, they should get along. But Steph is Test's boss..and if Test isn't nice to Steph, he'll be fired and also HHH will be back and Test will have him to deal with.
They show the clip when HHH was showing Trish a hammerlock. Coach asks about the awkward position that got Stephanie so angry. HHH says it was just a simple hammerlock, and Trish agrees saying she's used that move many times since then, all because of HHH. Steph's face looks completely shocked and angered in the clip of the awkward position with HHH and Steph back in July 2000. HHH says he had to come home to that face a lot during that time.

They show a clip of Austin's swerve to the Alliance side at Invasion by delivering the Stunner to Angle. Then they show the RAW after when Austin explains his actions. Coach asks HHH's thoughts on Austin's defect. HHH says at Wrestlemania, Austin sold his soul to Vince to get back the WWF Championship. At Invasion, Austin sold his soul to the Alliance to be around people who will feed his starving ego.
They show a clip from the WWF vs. WCW Invasion involving DX. Where HHH fired blanks at the buildings with a tank, and had the megaphone and everything. HHH says this was in a time when the WWF didn't even acknowledge there was another wrestling show on TV. He says
A question on e-mail is what is HHH's greatest point in career. HHH says retiring Mick Foley, as sadistic as that sounds. He says Mick Foley is a legend and he was the guy who finished him off. He feels that was very important.
Coach asks how he feels about the WWF Championship. HHH says if you're not fighting for the WWF Championship, you're not in the business. It's his number one goal and only a few people in the industry will ever hold it. He looks at the people who've got it, what they've done they get it, and what they need to do after they get it. He says he's seen a lot of people win it, and it's ruined their lives because they don't know what to do with it. HHH says he thrives on it. HHH says Austin is one of those guys who has to have it. It feeds his ego and that will be his downfall in the end. Coach says Austin ran his mouth about how horrible HHH was after he was injured. HHH says it's very easy to run your mouth when someone isn't there, when someone is injured and a thousand miles away. HHH says whe he gets back, we'll see if Austin keeps running his mouth and if he does, what will happen to him after that. Austin sold his soul to Vince McMahon at Wrestlemania, and HHH says that's because one month before that at No Way Out, HHH kicked his ass.

They show clips from The Rock/Booker T match at Summerslam played to the song, "Bodies" by Drowning Pool. Coach asks what HHH thinks of Rock's return and that match after his suspension. HHH says for Rock to have that much time off and to not show any rust was pretty impressive. HHH says he'll be making the same kind of comeback. HHH says he takes his hat off to the Rock because he is "The Great One" (but not "The Game"). HHH says he also takes his hat off to Booker T. HHH says he's always watched Booker T and he was always impressive, now more than ever, being a top member in the Invasion. Hats off to both of them.
Trish asks if HHH has his sights set on Hollywood. HHH says if Hollywood came to his door and offered him a dumptruck full of cash he might have to think about it. But right now his heart and soul is with the WWF and being sidelined for these many months has taken a lot away from him. He says even tonight he has that shot of adrenaline and he missed that, it's his main focus and all he's thinking about.
They show clips of Rock on RAW. Rock calling out Booker T but the midget comes out instead. Followed by the whole segment of The Rock and the midget in the ring, ending with mini-Booker's dancing. HHH says the midget was the first choice to do the show but since he was booked, they had Coach do it. They then show a clip from the 6-Man Match on Smackdown between Rock and The APA against Test, Rhyno and Booker T.
On the phonelines they have Peter on the line.
Peter asks if Rock and Austin at the top of their games, how does he feel about his leg being a bullseye for people to take him down and keep him from the top.
HHH says he will not return until his leg is 100%. When he comes back he will be bigger, stronger, faster and will get back to the top.
Coach addresses HHH's appearance on Tough Enough. He says after HHH talked to the Tough Enough group, three of them left the show. HHH says that was because he told them the truth. He says that you don't get to see your wife, you're on the road 200 days a year and more. He says they're having a world handed to them, they got the hot tubs, they got to go to the Bahamas. HHH says if he would have known that, he would have been a lot tougher on them. He says if he made 3 people leave, then they weren't tough enough, and the truth hurts.
An e-mail question asks how HHH knew when he knew he wanted in the wrestling business. HHH says he was hooked on the wrestling business by watching on TV. He says he wouldn't take no for an answer. He says if you want this, you're gonna do it, you're not going to let anyone get in your way or tell you that you can't. You'll find a way and you'll do what you want to do.
They show clips from Tough Enough last Thursday with Mick Foley's appearance on the show.

Coach says each week they will show a Classic Match, and the fans can e-mail in their suggestions for matches. Tonight they'll let HHH pick and he picks The Rock vs. Triple H on the very first Smackdown of the first season. Shawn Michaels was the Special Guest Referee in this WWF Championship Match.
Coach asks if HHH is still in shape and HHH takes off his shirt and it's obvious he's in extrememly good shape. Coach tells HHH to take it easy. HHH grabs his water bottle and spits the water into the air and the water goes all over Trish. Coach (with the line of the night) says that HHH is definitly in shape, he got Trish wet. Trish is about to take off her wet shirt but Coach stops her. HHH demands she take off her shirt chanting "Let The Boobies Hit The Floor." Trish says she doesn't think she's heard that version and keeps her shirt on (Damn.) Coach thanks HHH for coming on the show and wishes him the best of luck.

RVD says he loves the Hardcore environment because you can be creative and use any weapon. RVD says it's a test of endurance and he says that's right up his alley. He says he can endure more pain than anyone and that's his favorite aspect of the Hardcore realm, making sure that no one can outlast and endure more pain that Rob Van Dam. RVD says it's been a great experience on WWF TV and as long as he's WWF Hardcore Champion, he's gonna be out there using everything he's got, every weapon he can find and put his body on the line for the RVD fans.

Jeff says it was something Jeff always wanted to do when he watched it on TV. Matt Hardy says this was something daring that Jeff just wanted to do. He says it's all part of Jeff's no fear mentality. Jeff tries a lot of dangerous stunts in the clips of him on his motorbike and it's very obvious that Jeff is extemely daring and shows no fear what-so-ever. Matt says Jeff is just insane. Jeff says he knows the risk factor of what he's doing on his bike and what he does in the ring. Jeff says he got bored of the motorbike track so he made a mountain of dirt with a flaming can of gas on the top of it which Jeff calls The Volcano. Jeff clears the volcano jump. Jeff says it's an awesome feeling to jump above fire and this was a totally original and unique idea. Jeff says he can now say he has a volcano in his front yard and he jumped the volcano in his front yard.

Angle is live on the phone now. Angle says right now he's in Des Monies Iowa, they had an incredible show and the fans were great. He beat Rhyno in the main event. Angle says Austin is known for riding that beer truck in and drowning Vince McMahon in it. Angle said he thought he'd give Austin a taste of his own medicine but with his favorite beverage, milk. Angle said back when Austin and McMahon were hugging, he tried to fit in and pretended not to know what was going on, but he knew it all along and it was all along his way to the World Wrestling Federation title. Trish addresses Angle's book and Angle says he's only been in the WWF for 1 and a half years and he feels this book will recap his wrestling career very well with his Olympic history and his time in the WWF. Stephanie is on the line with Kurt Angle and she asks how it feels for Angle to transfer from the Olympics to the WWF. Angle said it was a 180 turn and it's very different. But he says that the WWF has so many great performers that he learned quickly. Angle says that the WWF is the most brutal sport, period. Amatuer wrestling is the toughest, but he's been injured more times in the 2 years he's been in the WWF than he ever was in the rest of his life. Coach asks what Angle's most funniest moment on the road was. Angle laughs. Angle says that on the road, the WWF guys have always been just boys and acted like boys. He says it's never a dull moment on the road and there are too many funny moments with the guys in the locker rooms at the WWF shows and simply because they all act like boys. They joke, they laugh, they prank each other, and everyone gets along pretty well on the road, since there are never that many fights while travelling. Every moment is funny. Coach thanks Angle for is time and can't wait to see him on Monday.
