No Pillman show next year? Hyatt/Sytch problems, Piper update, more

  • Tammy Sytch and Chris Candido raised eyebrows at a recent video shoot for Sytch and Hyatt's nude picture section for their website. Sources report that everyone involved in the shoot was acting belligerent. The shoot had to be postponed due to Candido's odd behavior.

  • Former Nitro producers Craig Leathers and Annette Yothers attended the August 10 TCW show. NWA Wildside's Steve Prazak was also in attendance. Manny Fernandez was not scheduled to wrestle at the TCW show, but showed up unannounced and was added to the card.

  • Roddy Piper, now 50 years old, is working with John Carpenter on an audio commentary for the DVD of "They Live", the movie directed by Carpenter and starring Piper.

  • We had earlier reported that X-Pac had missed the Pillam Memorial show and called a few days in advance saying he would not be there, but there was no reason specifying why he called out. As it turns out, X-Pac had committed to the event many months ago, but opted out for a number of reasons, the most important being that last week was his final chance at successive days off with his family since Smackdown was live this week and will be live next week.

  • Some WWF wrestlers were not impressed with the treatment they received at this year's Pillman show. The wrestlers complained that because of management mix-ups, they did not arrive to the building until later than originally planned. Once at the building, the wrestlers were rushed into appearing at a photo and autograph session. Others complained that they were worked too hard and felt as if they were taken advantage of by the show's organizers.

  • There is a lot of talk that there may not be another Pillman show held next year. While Les Thatcher would like to continue promoting the annual event, the WWF is planning to donate proceeds from an annual house show to Pillman's family, which they believe would eliminate the need for the show.

  • Missy Hyatt was feeling no pain backstage prior to the Pillman show. Backstage sources report that Hyatt showed up in that condition at 2 p.m. and had to receive help from others to remain standing at one point. Although she managed to work the show, sources report that Hyatt made a scene by hanging all over William Regal and Dallas Page, who appeared to be bothered by her antics. Hyatt passed out flyers for her nude website to several of the wrestlers including Terry Taylor just seconds after he returned to the backstage area after working his match.
