    - Scott Steiner released the following statement on his website, BootyDaddy.com:

I've been laying low, watching everything unfold this summer. I spent some quality time off getting re-energized and I'm feeling mean again. I'm starting to miss the action and Lord knows it's missing me. It's near time for me to show everyone who the Genetic Freak is again and remind them all who has the most amazing body in professional wrestling. My freaks know, but there's a lot of trailer park trash out there who don't have a clue, and I think it's high time to educate.

Keep your eyes open...the Big Bad Booty Daddy is on his way back...it may not be this week or this month, but it is coming soon.

What happened to him with WCW’s Head Office as a result of the first interview Jeff "the Ref" Kohl did with him back in March?

    - After doing the interview, which took place less then a week following the very last Nitro, he got in a lot of heat for talking openly about what went down at the big meeting at the WCW offices in Atlanta.

    - He received a couple of phone calls advising him that he wasn’t allowed to do any more interviews or he was running the risk of losing his severance package.

    - Scott says that some people just had a problem with letting go of the company and the power, but that’s over and done with now.

    - He jokes with JTR, saying that he’ll give him a call in a couple of days letting him know if he gets in any more heat for doing the interview he’s doing now!

What was the experience of getting to commentate for the new WCW on RAW and Smackdown like for him?

    - He called it "Chill Bump City"

    - Before hand, he was lucky enough to have said that he had commentated for every form of WCW programming that there was, and now he can add a bunch of WWF programs to the list as well.

    - Calls his time with the WWF a tremendous experience, saying how they were so professional to him throughout the interview and audition processes, and says how it felt great to be back in a live television setting once again, even if it was for only a couple of weeks.

How did his working for the WWF come about?

    - Many of the WCW employees who were Atlanta based had interviews with Jim Ross in the first couple of weeks of April when he came JR made the trip to Atlanta.

    - After his interview, JR put Scott over, saying how he knows of Scott’s work and knows who he is and said that he’ll be in touch with them. After the interview he didn’t hear anything from them.

    - Around the middle of June, he was asked to come back full-time to his day job since he wasn’t doing television anymore. He decided to check with the WWF to see if anything was going down, so he wrote to them, and they wrote him back telling him that there’s nothing really happening at this time and that they wished they could tell him more than that but they couldn’t. From there, he decided to go back full-time to his career.

    - A week later, he received a phone call from Kevin Dunn at his home saying that the WWF was interested and they wanted to know if he could be at their offices on Thursday to do an audition.

    - He went to Stamford, did the audition, it went great, but he told them that he couldn’t work full-time. They asked him if he could work for a couple of weeks to help ease the transition, and he was more than happy too.

    - Essentially, he went from being totally out of pro wrestling to commentating a match on RAW in a matter of 6 days.

The rumor that was going around the weekend prior to that show in Tacoma was that he was going to be doing commentary that Monday night alongside the returning Jerry "the King" Lawler. Obviously that never happened, as he ended up doing commentary with Arn Anderson instead. As far as he knew prior to the show, was he suppose to be working with King that night, or was Anderson the plan all along as far as he knew?

    - He heard all weekend long that they were trying to get Lawler back to be in that spot. He didn’t hear it from anybody in the WWF, but read it on the internet.

    - He says that he would have been fine working with anybody, but he was really pumped at the prospect of getting to work with Jerry, as he had only met him once before.

    - When Scott got to Tacoma on that Sunday night, the WWF still didn’t know who would be working with him. He asked Kevin Dunn who was going to be with him, and he told him that officially they didn’t know.

    - When he got to the building the next day for RAW, Arn came up to him and said "It looks like it’s you and me, brother!" And it was.

How comfortable was he going out there and commentating for the first time in months for a match between Booker T and Buff Bagwell that really stunk up the place?

    - He said that this might sound condescending and that he couldn’t mean it any more differently than that, but it was just like another Nitro.

    - He says that the set-up for RAW from a production stand point, but obviously not from a quality stand point, is so similar to Nitro. The ring is in the same place. The announcing positions are in the same place. The lay-out of the building was about the same.

    - Says that he didn’t feel any mike rust (if that’s the proper term), other than mentioning that Booker T was the WWF Champion, which he’s heard about non-stop since then.

    - Says that it was an easy experience, which is meant as a compliment to the WWF for making him feel so at ease, walking into a company half populated by wrestlers that he’s never met, knowing none of the crew, and making him feel like he had worked there his entire life.

When he first started out with the WWF, was the plan for him working there suppose to be short term from day one?

    - It had to be, because he had a career and couldn’t go back to part-time status it and commentate at the same time.

    - He did everything that they told him was expected of him.

What exactly does he do for a living outside of pro wrestling?

    - He’s a criminal court investigator for the federal government of the United States.

Something about him that a lot of people might not know about has been his recent work with Dusty Rhodes TCW federation. What’s it been like working with Dusty?

    - Dusty and him did some television together back for WCW on Saturday Night following his own stints working with Larry Z and Mike Tenay.

    - He had known Dusty for the 5 years that he had worked for WCW and got along with him great, just like everybody gets along with Dusty.

    - Says that Dusty runs Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling in Atlanta, and says that his only contact with the company until this past weekend was him being in attendance at a couple of past shows. This past weekend, Ray Lloyd (formally Glacier in WCW) gave him a call telling him that they were doing a seminar for rookies that wanted to learn and get into pro wrestling and train with Ray, Dusty, Dustin Rhodes, and Brad Cain (Lodi).

    - Ray wanted himself and Steve Prazak (who Scott puts over big time) to come to the school to talk about interviewing techniques and commentary.

    - Says that it was a real honor to be asked by Dusty to come in, as love him or hate him, he’s endured in this business for 30 years, and not many people can say that.

What kind of involvement does he intend to continue to have in pro wrestling now that he’s no longer working for the WWF?

    - The answer to that is the exact same involvement that he’s had since he’s been 5 years old: he’s still a fan. Says that he’s the kind of guy that is willing to drive 50 or 100 miles just to catch live indy shows. He’ll just be a fan.

    - Scott says that if somebody wants to start up a huge wrestling company and put it on CBS and pay him a million bucks a year than that’s great, but if that doesn’t happen then that’s fine too.

Now that a few months has passed since the sale of WCW, on-air product a side, does he miss Nitro?

    - Absolutely! The biggest downer of the shut-down of WCW has been not being able to go to work with Mike Tenay and Tony Schiavone and Larry Z and Bobby Heenan, as well as the crew and everybody else that helped put the show together.

    - He misses the people way more than he misses the show, even though he does miss the show, but he really misses hanging out with those guys, and especially the wrestlers.

    - Says that he got to become such good friends with so many of them.

    - Scott says that he still hangs out with DDP, Kanyon, Disco Inferno, and some of the other Atlanta based wrestlers, but generally, he says that you lose touch with many of the boys, and he misses them a lot.

We’ve heard that Tony Schiavone has recently been doing some work with the Atlanta Braves, but we haven’t heard very much as far as Mike Tenay goes. What’s the latest on Tenay and what’s he been up to as of late?

    - Scott says that oddly enough, he just talked with Tenay via telephone about two hours prior to this interview for about 45 minutes.

    - Says that he believes that he’s trying to come up with something to do and believes that his severance package is still going on, considering the fact that he’s been around a lot longer than he has.

    - Says that Tenay has been spending a lot of time on the west coast, as he’s from the LA and Las Vegas sector.

    - As far as what he’s doing professionally, Mike didn’t tell him and Scott never asked him, as he doesn’t feel that it’s any of his business, but he expects Mike to land on his feet doing something but feels that the real tragedy is that it probably won’t be as an announcer for the WWF which is a crying shame since Scott says that Mike is such a tremendous talent.
