Ross meeting with Mysterio/Guerrera, Chyna in movie trailer, more

    - Access Hollywood stated that The Rock's return helped last week's episode of WWF Smackdown! finish as the 36th highest rated primetime network program for the week ending August 5th, according to Neilsen Media Research.

    - As the Ross Report stated last week, Jim Ross is meeting with Rey Mysterio Jr. today in Los Angeles, the site of tonight's Smackdown tapings. The meeting is said to be regarding the possibility of Mysterio working for WWFE. Mysterio apparently brought along Juventud Guerrera with him to the meeting. The WWF did have interest in Guerrera prior to his arrest in Australia that eventually, caused him to lose his job with WCW but the belief within the WWF is that enough time has passed since the incident and the company may be open to working with him.

Today, I watched the trailer for the upcoming flick, "On the Line," starring Lance Bass & Joey Fatone (N'Sync). There's a brief shot of Joey Fatone arm-wrestling with Joanie Laurer (weren't they spotted hanging out together late last fall?). I've got no clue how much of a role she's got, although I'm guessing cameo. The trailer is up at http://www.movie-list.com.

week's guests are The Scream Queen Daffney Unger and Wrestling Great Terry
    Taylor.

    Part 1

    - Brent and Rod welcome everyone to the show.

    - Brent informs us that The Scream Queen Daffney Unger is on the phone.

    - Daffney sounds very happy as she informs us that she is cooking for some guests of her and her husbands that are in from England.

    - Daffney said she felt very fortunate to be with WCW and that she enjoyed every second of being in the business and her character.

    - Unger said that she has been training at Dusty Rhodes' school for a little over six months now.

    - Daffney talks a little about TCW (Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling) and how Dusty Rhodes owns it. She also says that he plans to open another school down in Florida with his son Dustin.

    - Daffney said they run shows mostly all over the Southeast and it has been great meeting all the legends and absorbing all their knowledge.

    - Unger said that TCW pretty much runs shows every weekend and she promotes a show on 8/4 in Alabama where Daffney said she will wrestle a singles match against Kim Neilson and Daffney said she will kick her butt.

    - Daffney said she has been mostly managing down in TCW and has managed Scotty Riggs, Lodi and Steve Corino.

    - Unger said she has wrestled a few mixed tags and singles matches and her favorite was a mixed tag match against Leilani Kai.

    - Unger, when asked about Vince Russo said that he was always polite to her and she feels she got along with everyone backstage.

    - Daffney said that she feels a lot of loyalty to Dusty because he trained her for free and he has helped her become a better wrestler, but she said she would sign with the WWF if they wanted her too.

    - Unger then said she doesn't think the WWF would be interested in her because whoever picks the talent seems to have an eye for the blonde, fitness model type look and that is not her look.

    - Daffney said that she had talked to Crowbar earlier in the day and she commented on what a hard worker he is and what a talent he is going to be. She said he is working Indy shows in New Jersey and is working every weekend.

    - Unger said that Crowbar has a degree to be a physical therapist, so he now works in a hospital during the week and does Indy shows on the weekend.

    - Rod also said that he talked to Jerry Lawler about Stacy and the topic of The Honky Tonk Man came up and Jerry said Honky is posting lies on his web site so people will go there everyday and the hits will go up.

    - Jerry Lawler said that Honky Emailed him awhile back to tell him that he was hammering him on his web site and asked Jerry to respond so they could get a work done over the internet and Jerry said no.

    - Rod talks very badly of the Honky Tonk Man and he doesn't talk bad about anybody.

    - Rod promotes the rest of the show and sends us to break.

    Part 3

    - Brent welcomes us back from break.

    - Brent informs us that Terry Taylor is on the phone.

    - Brent states that Terry Taylor will be wrestling in the Legends Match at the Pillman Show vs. Beautiful Bobby Eaton.

    - Terry said that Jim Cornette will be in Eaton's corner during the Legends Match and nobody would be in his.Brent then suggested Bobby Heenan.

    - Terry said that Bobby and he were good friends in WWF but in WCW Terry said things were going so badly that he probably treated Bobby worse than he should've.

    - Taylor said that he has wrestled Bobby Eaton about 7,000 times and this match will depend on if Bobby can carry him for 10 minutes or not.

    - Terry said that he was very unhappy with his Red Rooster character in the WWF and that when they first came to him with the idea he thought is was a joke and that they were making fun of him, but Terry agreed to do it.

    - Terry said he was the Red Rooster for 16 months and he was Terry Taylor for 15 years and more people remember him as the Red Rooster.

    - Taylor said that Bill Watts was very hard to work for because he ran you to death, but you learned how to work hard and you learned discipline and Terry said he wouldn't be where he is today without him. Taylor said he would never say anything bad about Watts.

    - Terry said that WCW folded because Eric Bischoff had an unlimited bank account. Eric got the job through Ric Flair. Bishcoff went to Japan and saw that one promotion had these young stars coming in from another promotion and they were beating the established stars, which shocked the world. So, Bischoff came back to the states and bought all the WWF established stars and did the same thing that the promotion in Japan did. However, Bischoff never put over the younger guys and in the end there were no more Hulk Hogan's or Bret Hart's to buy and the company got stale and started to lose money.

    - Terry Taylor said he likes Vince McMahon and Vince has surrounded himself with good people.

    - Terry said that Vince Russo revolutionized television for the wrestling business.

    - Taylor said that Vince McMahon would always have the last say, every Tuesday morning Vince Russo and Ed Ferrera would pitch ideas to Vince and he would either ok them or say no. In WCW there was no last say between Russo and his ideas.

    - Taylor said that at the end when Russo and Bischoff were together the talent or a million other people would say no to the ideas, so nothing ever got done because you had 11 people with 11 different ideas.

    - Terry said that Hulk Hogan did not hold other wrestlers down. The only thing Hulk Hogan did was create an atmosphere where people could get rich wrestling.

    - Taylor said that he was very impressed with the ECW rebirth on Raw. He thought it was great that they made the WWF the underdog, now having to fight the WCW and the ECW. However, Taylor felt they ruined it at the end of the show by uniting the ECW and WCW because it narrowed down the storylines. Terry said that Jimmy Hart agrees with him.

    - Terry called Main Event Championship Wrestling (MECOW) because he said the name was too long for him to say. Terry said he has done a lot of talking with John Collins, the owner of MECW and Terry said that it has a chance if John has the money that he says he has and if it is something different.

    - Taylor said he would like to be a part of MECW but he feels John's idea to hire 45 wrestlers and run two separate promotions and then cross promote won't work because there isn't enough talent out there right now.

    - Terry said there is an old saying in the wrestling business that if you run an angle with wrestlers that aren't over than the angle isn't over.

    - Terry said that John does not have the ability to pull this off but he would like to think that John has the resources to do so.

    - Terry said that he wanted to open a wrestling school but he couldn't because he couldn't get liability insurance to cover him.

    - Taylor said that not everyone knows that the whole WWF Developmental Territory was his idea and that he set it up.

    - Terry said that the best scouts are the wrestlers themselves, Terry wanted to have the WCW wrestlers work Indy's also because if they saw anyone good they could let the management know and they could bring them in there, but Brad Siegal said no.

    - Terry said that Les Thatcher will teach these young guys a lot of things about wrestling that they don't know.

    - Taylor said that Terry Funk said to him once "If I'd have known all you had to do was a moonsault to be a good wrestler, I'd have been one 20 years ago." Taylor said this was in reference to the young guys not knowing how to get down on the mat and make the people feel something.

    - Terry Taylor said that wrestlers today are faster and more athletic but the wrestling wasn't any less exciting then than it is today. (There was mention of last week's comments by the Disco Inferno)

    - Terry Taylor will be at the Mark Curtis Fantasy Camp and The Pillman show next week on Wed. and Thurs. the 8th and 9th in Cincinnati, Ohio.

    - Terry Taylor apologizes to the Chairshots listeners for not calling in last week when he was scheduled to be on because he had travel problems.

    - Terry Taylor signs off.

    - Rod and Brent talk about what a good interview Terry Taylor was as they send us to break.

    - Rod goes over the WWF Smackdown! Preview for Thursday 8/2.

    - Brent and Rod talk about The Rock.
