DDP's backstage heat, More on new WWF/TNN timeslot, Russo/AOL-TW, more

    - On the subject of Page, it appears that he has some heat behind the scenes in the WWF. Page has always been a self-promoter and he apparently took that attitude with him to the WWF. Page has been very vocal about things backstage and because, at times, it seems like he is only looking out for his own personal gain, he hasn't come across very well to some.

    - Apparently, an angle may be shot around the time of Summerslam (August 19th) that will explain the WWF's new timeslot on TNN. The timeslot goes into effect on August 25th, the Saturday after Summerslam.

    - Reportedly, Vince Russo is negotiating with AOL Time Warner for the release of six of their top stars for work in the WWA. Should the negotiations become successful, the stars will join the promotion in late October. While the exact names of the six wrestlers have not been revealed, I think we can all imagine who they might be.

I went to see Raw live on Monday night, and DDP cut himself as he was running to the ring for his run in. There was a camera wire that he tripped over as he was running full speed. He fell pretty bad but got right back up like nothing happened. The fans that did see him fall were all laughing pretty loud!

Effectively immediately there will be no further shows at the NWA WRESTLEPLEX in Toccoa, GA. The most recent promoter is moving out of Georgia, and the decision was made to concentrate on NCW Arena Shows (next shows Friday 8/3 and TV Taping 8/4) and new promotion sites such as the GEORGIA THEATER in ATHENS, GA (8/15 @ 8PM).

Jerry "the King" Lawler is scheduled to appear in the NCW ARENA on Saturday 9/1. That show will also be a TV Taping, and mark the 2nd Anniversary of NWA WILDSIDE.
