Day 2 of my 3 day trip covering Invasion (Cleveland), Raw (Buffalo) and Smackdown (Pittsburgh) is now complete. I just got home from raw and it was an excellent show. The Buffalo crowd was into it pretty well, which is better than the smackdown that was here last year. The crowd exploded at the tease of a rock return and had some great heat for Austin, Steph, and Heyman, especially during the opening interview. Crowd also was very responsive for Rob Van Dam. I've never seen someone get over so quickly.

I attended my first live event last night in my hometown of Buffalo, NY. I showed up early around 5:00PM in back of the HSBC arena to find out that everyone was already inside. But every so often someone would pop out the door, mostly to talk on their cell phones, and the crowd of 100 or so would erupt. We talked a little with Earl Hebner's son, who is now a referee for WCW. Then Stone Cold came out to talk on his phone and took a lot of heat from the anxious crowd which was now growing rapidly. The APA drove through the gates crammed into a small car and acknowledged the crowd who in turn gave them a big pop. The most interesting occurrence to me during the pre-event hype came when security escorted three scantily dressed girls into a tour bus and they all came out shortly after with messy hair and front row tickets.

The first dark match between Scotty 2 Hotty and Esse Rios began at about 7:55PM. Scotty hit the Worm to score the pin. I won't go into detail about all the other matches because they are already covered. Some of the highlights that stuck out: RVD got a better pop out of the crowd than Matt Hardy for two reasons: No Lita and ECW's popularity in Buffalo. Torrie Wilson caressing her breasts and saying that they were better than Trish's got a big pop. Edge's comment about Booker T being related to Mr. T had everybody laughing. Kurt Angle and Y2J were the two biggest fan favorites in attendance of the night and received huge roars from the crowd every time they came out. Y2J actually high fived some fans after the show on his way back up the ramp. But far and away the biggest reaction of the night came when Vince reinstated The Rock. Deafening chants of "Rocky,Rocky" filled the arena. I didn't think he would actually be there, but my adrenaline was flowing the rest of the night in hopes he would make a late run in. Austin and Heyman probably took the most heat from the crowd during their opening interview. I really think the crowd wanted the UT to kick DDP's ass worse than he did, but I noticed for the past month that DDP will take a few punches and always find a way to escape without a major beating. There was a Rock impersonator walking through ringside late in the event, but nobody was fooled since the guy was way smaller. As for attendance, there were very few empty seats once 9:00PM came around, which will hopefully lead to another show in Buffalo not too far down the road. We joined about 300 others in back of the arena to watch our favorites drive away after the show. Austin and Debra quickly sped away in a Lincoln without even looking up to acknowledge the crowd. Also rushing off in a hurry were the Hardy's, Regal and X-Pac, and Kurt Angle with a hot babe. Edge & Christian waved to the crowd before getting into their Rodeo, which drew a big roar. By now it was after 12:00AM, the crowd was thinning out, and only the die-hards remained. Booker T came out by himself and gave a thumbs up before getting into his Blazer. As the WWF trailers pulled in and out one after another, there were still two limos waiting by the door. Finally, Shane and Steph came out and Shane waved to the few of us that were left. To our surprise, out came The Game limping noticeably even in the dark of the night. He, Shane and the Princess left in one limo and we never did see who left in the other because of the WWF trailers which kept blocking our view. We left to go home at 12:30AM fully satisfied even without an appearance by The People's Champ!

I've been listening to the Jim Rome Show today and they have been talking about the testimony of one of the former strippers in the Gold Club case in Atlanta. During this stripper's testimony she admitted going back to Bischoff's hotel room with him and performing sexual acts not with Bischoff, but with his wife.
