Madusa on Wrestlepalooza, Holly at WWFNY, Women's Title tournament? more

The Wrestlepalooza Real Audio show crew went one-on-one with one of the most legendary women wrestlers of all time, Madusa. The show can be heard in its entirety here, but here are some of the highlights of the interview:

-Madusa would love to face Chyna in a match on a WWF pay-per-view and retire her in the middle of the ring because she believes that she would be the best person to do it.

-She believes that Lita has a lot of good spots, but she is still very green and it is going to be hard to get more out of her. Molly could take her and is a lot more talented than Lita. Madusa thinks that Molly is one of the last women to have "the gift".

-Torrie Wilson and Stacy Kiebler caused Madusa a lot of problems at the Power Plant (where Madusa was training them) and they told her that they did not want to be in there and that is not what they were in WCW to do.

-She stated that the girls she was training in the power plant wore more make-up to the plant then they did on televisions. Women in pro wrestling in the states has turned into glam and not many can work anymore. The women in wrestling today learn the high spots in a match and cannot do much else.

-Throwing the WWF Women's Championship belt in the garbage was Eric Bischoff's idea. She did it because this was her new employer, even though she thought that they were nuts for doing it. A lot of people said a lot of bad things about her and looked down on her, but if a man would have done it they would have made the cover of all of the wrestling magazines and would have been praised for it. Now Madusa believes that she is still the WWF Women's Champion.

-While wrestling in Japan, she actually fought in Thailand in a Muay Thai kickboxing match and defeated the World Champion.

-She thinks that she has been so successful because she has continued to reinvent herself as needed and most females in wrestling cannot reinvent themselves so their careers last less than 3 years.

-When she first started working in the business she was working for $5 a show sometimes and complete depleted her savings until catching on with AWA.

-When she wrestled Evan Karagis and kissed him, she socked him by putting her tongue down his throat. After that he wanted to do a shower scene.

-She started in Monster truck racing through a connection she had made while working in WCW and they wanted a female driver and they thought that she would be perfect.

-Madusa just bought a 10,000-foot log home in Virginia that she just moved into. She spends her time away from racing canning, gardening, raising wolves, and riding Harley's.

The Wrestlepalooza Real Audio show can be heard every Wednesday and Sunday at http://www.wrestlepalooza.com/audioshow.html and past interviews with Bobby Heenan, Spike Dudley, Daffney, Ron Waterman, Harley Race, Lenny Lane, Kid Kash, Dusty Rhodes, Steve Williams and others are archived on the site.

There was a new guy doing the voice over for Superstars this morning, his name is Chris Leary. I Don't know anything about him but he was better than Michael Cole and Jonathan Coachman.

Today (Sunday) is Shawn Michaels & The Fabulous Moolah's birthdays (I think Moolah finally hit the big 2-0-0).

Odd that WWF.com lists Moolah's but not Shawn's...

I was watching Access Hollywood and they were
discussing the line ups for each network for the rest of summer and fall.
Finally, the UPN guy came on and said we will see the return of the Rock
pretty soon. They showed a graphic about how low Smackdown viewership this
year has been compared to last year. They know that The Rock will help big time
because he is such an extremely popular character in the WWF. Later on they did a
piece about The Rock and his wife Dani's child is on the way. It was a cute
20 second piece about changing diapers and being there for the birth. Cute
little interview and nice tidbit to know that now The Rock is definitely
    returning sometime soon.

News and Rumors from the Chicago Sun Times:

To fill the vacant slot left by Chyna, a WWF Women's Title tournament to conclude at SummerSlam may be on the horizon.

Big Bossman has been backstage at the last few WWF events but there is no rush to put him on television.

Do not rule out the return of Jeff Jarrett to the WWF.
