![]() Welcome to the wrestling industry, we'll take your soul, your heart, your body and if we don't approve we'll take your legacy and shape it as we see fit. Business is business and the wrestling industry is no exception. The fact that there is only room for a handful of true superstars is the grim reality for those wrestlers who have sacrificed so much. The most deserving wrestlers are overshadowed by the most marketable and mainstream. In a perfect world Tommy Dreamer would excel the success of The Rock, yet he won't. Does he cry? No. Does he complain? No. Does he respect the wrestling industry? You tell me. I guess I'm a sucker for human-interest stories, because when I saw Tommy Dreamer on WWF TV it made me think. I thought about everyone who considered Tommy Dreamer just that, a dreamer. I though about everyone who called Tommy Dreamer a cripple who's body is broken-down. I though about everyone who considered Tommy Dreamer dead when ECW died…I think about everything that was said and it brings a smile to me. While in ECW Dreamer never knew if and when he would receive his paycheck, but he still wrestled. He never knew if one more broken bone or concussion would cause his body to fold, but he still wrestled. He never knew how much he was respected by the fans and how much entertainment he provided, instead he persevered and preformed regardless. You have to respect the sick and twisted mentality of a man who cares more for the industry then his own wellbeing. I for one am appreciative to see Tommy Dreamer on WWF TV. The long road of blood sweat and tears has brought him a stage in which he can perform for one last time. While I am sure he is willing to put his body on the line, WWF management along with everyone in the locker room will not allow it. Taz and Shane Douglas walked into ECW and walked out, Dreamer watched. Lance Storm and The Dudleys walked into ECW and walked out, Dreamer stayed. I do not condemn those who left ECW, they did that they felt was the best for their family. I do not praise Dreamer for staying till the end, he simply did what he felt was best for the fans. As a new chapter opens in life of Tommy Dreamer I hope the fans realize something, no matter what you say, Dreamer loves the wrestling industry more then you do. That's how you earn respect in my book and that's how you earn the respect of the men and women in the locker rooms. The wrestling industry took his soul, it took his heart and it damaged his body. I'll be dammed if it takes his legacy.
