Credit: WWF.com Jeff Wilen sent in the following: SPLASHDOWN 2001 Has Been CANCELED: [The following statement is from RG Promotions] The Splashdown 2001 event scheduled for July 14, 2001 at the Garden State Convention Center has been CANCELED. The backers for the event, Power Players Group, were found to be in breach of contract after they failed to make good on their initial deposit due to the talent. After numerous attempts were made to obtain the funds, the decision was made to cancel the much anticipated event. We at RG Promotions appologize to the wrestlers, fans and media who were looking forward to SplashDown on July 14th.
