Joining our talented roster that evening will be former ECW icons The Sandman and Bill Alfonso! (The two greats are expected to appear in a meet-the-fans/ autograph capacity.) Also, from the airwaves of A.M. 670 -- "The Score," you will hear the vocal talents of Jonathan Hood (guest commentator) and Lawrence Holmes (guest ring announcer). (Hood and Holmes host the "Wrestlemaniacs" program which airs on WSCR in the Chicagoland area Tuesday nights from 10 p.m. to midnight, CST.) All-in-all, you've got an incredible event at an incredible price. (Tickets are just $10.00!) For ticket information and event news, you can call the PCW Hotline at (630) 375-7385. For more information visit PCWChicago.com OVW Saturday Night Slam 2 Hour TV Taping 6/20/01 Aaron "Lurch" Wilson -A spectactualar night in Ohio Valley Wrestling to say the least as this standing room only crowd keeps the intensity up all night just one week away from The Last Dance. The very last Wrestling show in the historic Louisville Gardens, featuring great Louisville Legends of Wrestling as well as WWF Superstars not to mention the already talent packed roster of OVW. -Rob Conway & Damaja vs. Sean Casey & Chris Michaels www.thedamaja.com -Overall a great TV opener very high paced. No one wrestler really took the upper hand too much, but the crowd was all over the team of Casey and Michaels. Sean Casey took a huge Back Body Drop right onto the concrete floor of the Davis Arena. The match ended with a series of great top rope "misses" as Micheals went for the top rop elbow and misses, followed by Conway missing the top rope fist, which was then followed by Casey getting a huge boot to the face by Conway who was on the ground. The match ended to a tremendous ovation as Damaja pulled off the Brain Damage and the pinfall. -Winners Rob Conway & Damaja via pinfall -Jason Lee vs. Johnny Spade DARK MATCH www.smoothjohnnyspade.com -A very spectactular technical match with some very underused talent. This was actually one of the better matches of the night which really got the local crowd on their feet. The crowd hated the cowardly ways of Spade and appreciated the great technical skills of Jason Lee. In my opinion whatever is holding these two stars back, especially Lee, should stop. Both of these cruiserweights really deserve a chance at the top. A high point of the match was when Jason Lee went for a top rope moonsault and missed, followed by Spade missing his top rope "Spadeton" Bomb. The match ended rather oddly though as referee Nick Dumeyer called for the bell after seeing a blatant low blow delivered by Spade. -Winner Jason Lee via DQ -Race Steele vs. Machine w/ Johnny Spade -This in my book got match of the night, as it truly was an excellent match. This match literally consisted of everything in the book and then some. Race Steele making his OVW debut is from the Cincinati based Heartland Wrestling Association which is actually hosting the Pillman Memorial Card. Steele didn't start off with a great ovation as he was unrecognized by the crowd, but certainly left the ring gaining tremendous respect from the somewhat harsh OVW crowd. Overall a very exciting match as Machine pulled off the pinfall after a top rope Implant DDT which was trully phenomenal. -Winner Machine via pinfall -Mark Henry & Randy Orton vs. Mr. Black & Prototype w/ Macho Man -The match kicked off with man convinced he is indeed Randy Savage on the mic, getting all over the local Jeffersonville, IN crowd. Talking about the upcoming Louisville Gardens show on June 27 "The Last Dance" Next Henry and Orton make their way to the ring once the cameras come on the air to a tremendous ovation from the standing room only Davis Arena Crowd. Prototype and RAndy Orton start off in the ring with some really great technical wrestling with the crowd 100% behind the Third Generation Prodigy Randy Orton. Orton still showing some great improvement in the ring as well as Henry who delivered a huge Lariat to Prototype after flying off the top rope. The match ended as the "Role Model" Rico Costatino ran in being spotted by the referee. -Winners Mark Henry & Randy Orton via DQ -The next segment was an interview segment featuring the Deciples of Synn with Jim Cornette. Basically the DOS matches for the Last Dance were hyped up. These matches are Leviathan vs. Synn and Kurt and Eric Angle vs. Payne and Damien, which is actually changed later in the show. Damien had a Kurt Angle action figure which provided some minor comic relief. -Sly Skraper & Mike Hard defeated Matt Stryker & Pepper Parks via pinfall -Brian Keck defeated Damien via pinfall -Bobby Eaton vs. Rico Costantinon w/ Kenny "the King" Bolin -This was overall a good match with Bobby Eaton still showing he can go at it like he used to. He came out to a huge ovation and his Midnight Express music. I'm sure Jim Cornette was raving about him up in the commentators booth. The match was actually impressive with Eaton taking some huge bumps out of the ring and into the walls. Rico took the upperhand for the most part but Eaton did pull off a great top rope leg drop onto Rico after Costantino missed a huge Moonsault. Rico then went on to pick up the pinfall by pulling the tights of Eaton. -Winner Rico Costantino via pinfall -Ron "H2O" Waterman vs. Payne w/ Synn www.ronh2oman.com www.bjpayne.com -This was overall a very entertaining match with Payne and Waterman really showing some tremendous improvement even over the past two weeks. This match which actually sparked last week after Payne made H2O tap out was set just after the announcement that since Eric Angle got injured due to the Deciples of Synn that Waterman will take his place in the Last Dance match teaming up Ron Waterman with Kurt Angle. The match itself was great with Waterman pulling off some impressive dropkicks with the crowd really supporting him. The match ended as Payne went for the anklelock submission but was reversed into being put into the ankle lock submission by Waterman ending up with Payne tapping out. -Winner Ron "H2O" Waterman via submission -Nick Dinsmore vs. Flash www.nickdinsmore.com OVW HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH -This was also to nobodies surprise a very excellent match with Flash defending his Title as well as the match against Chris Jericho at the Louisville Gardens. A very well paced match with Flash showing that he is the show stealer pulling off an electrifying top rope to the ground Centon Bomb to the standing Nick Dinsmore just inches infront of the ringside Crowd. Very impressive. Dinsmore then later recovered and pulled off a great missle dropkick. Minutes later the ref was knocked out just as Dinsmore pulled off his German Suplex pinning Flash for atleast five seconds. Next Machine ran in and distracted Dinsmore allowing Flash to pull off the quick roll up and the win. After the match Dinsmore attacked Machine untying his match and actually revealing up to his chin, the face of Machine. The Loser Leaves OVW vs. Mask match should be one excellent match June 27 at the Louisville Gardens. -Winner Flash via pinfall Email me with your questions or comments Awlurch@hotmail.com Aim s/n: awlurch NWA WILDSIDE NEWS 6/21/01 WEDNESDAY 6/27/01 8PM BUMPERS ATHENS, GA THE REMATCH NEW JACK VS DAVID YOUNG NWA WILDSIDE HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE MATCH JUSTICE (CHAMPION)w/BAILEY VS SCOTTIE WRENN ROB WILLIAMS VS RICK MICHAELS WHITE TRASH VS KID XTASY w/KID KOOL TNT (TODD & TONY) VS THE PLATOON Plus: NWA JUNIOR CHAMPION: JIMMY RAVE BLACKOUT (RAINMAN & HOMICIDE) and more.............. Kid and Mark knocked heads pretty hard, Mark rolled out to the floor while the ref was checking on Kid. Hero came in and gave Mark the Hero's Welcome on the floor, Kid finally got up and tried to pick Mark up but he was out cold. Kid pinned him. The crowd then told Kid what happened and he didn't want to win that way, and the match got declared a draw. 3) Short Dog beat Cash Flo Hido hit Cash Flo with a chairshot, which was followed up with a Vader Bomb by Short Dog. -Two out of three falls- 4) Tarik the Great beat Chris Hero a) Tarik the Great pinned Hero. b) Hero made Tarik tap out to a fujiwara armbar. c) Tarik hit face buster, ref was knocked out. Suicide Kid ran in, hits Hero with Suicide Solution and Tarik made the pin. 5) Hido and Madman Pondo beat Mean Mitch Page and Necro Butcher. About 2 minutes into the match Mitch hurt his shoulder. Mid American Wrestling, amidst local controversy in the press, continued to move forward with another live event, titled "Beer, Bombs, Blood & Barbed Wire" this past Saturday night, 6/16, at KP Classics in Big Bend, WI. Here a re your results... 1. "Classic" COLT CABANA defeated DEREK ST. HOLMES, ESQUIRE via pinfall following a double underhook suplex into a sit-down over the shoulder backbreaker in the opening contest. 2. FARMER VIC was defeated by 2 TUFF TONY via countout in the 2nd match of the night. Tony hit his trademark corkscrew plancha on Vic through a table on the outside of the ring, and just barely beat referee BARFLY MIKE's count back into the ring. 3. JASON DUKES & FRANKIE DeFALCO retained the MAW Tag Team Titles against the team of "Love Machine" MATT LONGTIME & "Britney Spears' Boyfriend" CHUCKIE SMOOTH after Dukes jumped off the top of a Ryder truck putting Smooth through a table. 4. CM PUNK's secret weapon "Lawless" LENN WALKER (w/ Punk & DP) fell to ADRIAN SERRANO (w/ his best friend Holly Wood & the young shooters) in a shoot fight. Serrano made Walker tap out to a chokehold to gain the victory. 5. DINO BAMBINO defeated "Dysfunction" KURT KRUEGER after a Dino Bomb (over the shoulder backbreaker into a DDT) through a table in one of the best high flying matches in the midwest in recent memory. 6. CM PUNK (w/ DP) defeated THE SKULL KRUSHER in a very physical contest. As Skull Krusher was going to suplex Punk into the ring from the apron, Prazak tripped SK and held down his leg for Punk to get the three count. 7. IAN ROTTEN defeated HARDCORE CRAIG in a No-Rope Exploding Barbed Wire Death Match to regain the MAW World Heavyweight Championship following a double underhook DDT. At the detonator was MAW owner CARMINE DeSPIRITO, who refused to set off the bombs the first two times Craig was thrown into the barbed wire. Post-match, CM PUNK and DAVE PRAZAK hit the ring and joined Craig in attacking Rotten, with PUNK shouting that he's coming after the title, and delivering a brutal chairshot to the bloody head of Ian. Both Rotten and Craig had to be stitched up at the West Allis hospital following the contest, as Rotten received a severe injury to his hand, and the back of Craig's head was terribly busted open courtesy of an Ian chairshot during the bout. Punk will get his shot at Rotten's title on 7/21 at KP Classics, the 2001 Summer Sizzler Spectacular. Signed thus far for the Sizzler on 7/21... Stacy McMackin, Moderator: stacymcmackin@gurlmail.com Mid American Wrestling: midamwrestling@webtv.net HWA Tuesday Night Showcase Tuesday, June 19, 2001 Cincinnati, Ohio Well, it has been a scorcher of a week here in the Queen City, and I have been waiting a full seven days for a scorcher of a show . I was expecting to see some sort of buildup for next week's MTV: True Life reunion show, but alas it was not to be. Our MC and Ring Announcer Hoss comes out to a near capacity crowd wearing... khaki? It is truly a departure from his normal attire of Hawaiian shirts. Perhaps he was saw was this reported wrote last week. Perhaps he simply ran out. The world may never know. With his usual bravado, Hoss explains that there really is no card for this week's show, so there will be a Battle Royal at the start of the show that will determine the evening's matches. At this, Commissioner Patrick Black comes out to his usual heat (which I still don't get). I take the time to notice that Patrick Black is also looking very khaki tonight. Was this a planned occurrence, or is it bizarre coincidence? Again, the world may never know. Anyway, Patrick gives the crowd bad news. He explains that the MTV show is going to have to be rescheduled until a later date (much "Awww"-ing and "Boo"-ing from the crowd at this). Of course, those of us who had read the newsletter (handed out at the door) already knew this, but we "Awwww"-ed and "Boo"-ed nonetheless. Patrick assures us, however, that next week will have an "all-star" line-up, including a Cruiserweight Title match between current champion Matt Stryker, and Pepper Parks of A-Squad. Almost as soon as Pat gets this out, Surfer Cody Hawk's music starts Cody comes out to good pop (shirtless and in jeans I might add, Pat and Hoss didn't get him the uniform memo). Cody goes on to explain his interruption to Pat. He says that he has done nearly everything he can to get his title shot with Heavyweight Champion Race Steele, but Race keeps ducking out. Cody says that he is sick of the stupid stipulations (Cody has to beat so-and-so to get the shot) only to have Race come out and punk him out and cost him the victory, thus ensuring Cody won't get a title shot. He asks Pat when he will get his title shot. Before the commish can answer, Race Steele comes out from the back of the arena, mic in hand. He says that Cody will never get his title, and, as punishment for even bringing it up, he will bring out his special friend that he has been hiding in his "closet" and a man who is the "master of domination... and submission," the Machine! Cody questions Races sexual preference saying that Race must've been hiding in the same closet last week (Patrick Black told us Race was injured last week). Race and Machine jump into the ring and begin to threaten and move toward Cody, who looks ready for a fight. Before they can get to him, however, Nick Dinsmore comes out from the back for the save. The two clean ring as Patrick Black calls for order. Pat says that he is sick of these two going back and forth, so there will be a tag match for tonight's Main Event. Nick DInsmore and Cody Hawk will meet Race Steele and the Machine. ZOWIE! What a start to the night's event! I love this place! FIRST MATCH BATTLE ROYAL Since these matches are nearly impossible to follow (except for individual instances) I will simply explain the order in which the wrestlers are introduced and eliminated and by whom they are eliminated (since this will determine the night's matches). Bennie Da Bookie (who was noticeably absent last week) was first out. He was followed by Bo Lewis, J.J. Duquesne, Timebomb, the "Hussla", Chet "The Jet" Jablonski, Dean "The Dream" Jablonski, Pepper Parks, Matt Stryker and finally Derek Neikirk. All I can say is that when the bell rang, chaos ensued. Timebomb was the first one out, sent over the by Dean Jablonski. Soon after, Pepper Parks was put out by Matt Stryker (good fuel for their match next week). Bennie Da Bookie forced J.J. Duquesne to pay up... outside the ring, of course. Without missing a step, Bennie cashes in on the "Hussla" as well. Then there were six. Bo Lewis is given a flight out of the ring by Chet "The Jet". Bennie Da Bookie is rubbed out by Derek Neikirk. Now it gets interesting. Derek pulls a double underhook suplex on Dean as Matt Stryker is eliminated by Chet. Two seconds later, Dean puts Derek out. with only the two Jablonski's left, Chet voluntarily leaves over the top. WINNER: DEAN "THE DREAM" JABLONSKI SECOND MATCH Timebomb (with Nigel McGuiness and Tina Ambrose-McGuiness) v. Pepper Parks (with Brock Guffman) Hoss goes to announce the match, but the wrong music started. Once the music is set straight, Nigel, Tina and Timebomb come out. Nigel is wearing a heavy-duty knee brace (not the Stone Cold variety, but the kind that won't let you bend your knee) and has a hard time getting into the ring. Nigel takes the mic and asks what the HWA is coming to. First the music is wrong, then he is announced after he appears on the ramp. And about his, knee, he says that Chet Jablonski (whom he calls a wanker) did a really good job on his knee last week. He explains that, unlike some wrestlers, his injury is real. He hasn't been able to walk, or talk, or "perform" at all over the past week. He goes on to say that the "silicon implanted wankers" are just scared of him and Timebomb (since they are the number one contenders for the Tag Titles) and that they would have beaten Frenchy Dubois and Gary Coleman (J.J. Duquesne and The "Hussla"). Brock and A-Squad come out and Brock talks it up. He says that Nigel probably hurt his leg trying to carry Shrek (referring to Tina) around. He says that last week he about had a coronary (hmm... perhaps this reporter was right about him) and that this week he was going to let the talent speak for itself. Pepper spent all week coming up with something to say: "Go Me!" On to the action. Timebomb starts in control and gets in a beautiful side Russian leg sweep. He throws Pepper into a corner and stomped the proverbial mud hole in him. Now my favorite part. Timebomb gets in, not one, but two of those awesome "Hair Pull" tosses. Those pigtails just make such nice handles! Pepper recovers and gets in a nice super kick, knocking Timebomb for a loop. After a neck toss, he kicks Timebomb in the lower back (a favorite move and one of my faves) with a loud crack. After a pin attempt, Timebomb recovers, and does the mud hole stomping again. This time, he pulls a sweet spinebuster for a two count. He tosses Pepper over the top for some out of the ring beat down. Timebomb throws Pepper back in giving him a second to recover. As Timebomb tries to enter the ring, Guffman holds his leg, allowing Pepper to kick the rope Timebomb in sitting on (ouch). Pepper gets in a solid suplex, but then my attention is diverted to Tina. She slaps Guffman and gets him on the run. While this was going on, Timebomb recovered and slaps a front falling suplex on Pepper. Timebomb is ready to go off, but Dean Jablonski comes out from the back, picks up Tina and runs off. Her screams alert Timebomb who runs off after them. Pepper waits patiently in the ring for the inevitable count out. WINNER: PEPPER PARKS via Count out THIRD MATCH J.J. Duquesne v. The "Hussla" No talk before the match-up. We have seen these two men go at it before. One thing I love about this federation is that they don't have the "Face" versus "heel" hang-up. Sure, they like to face off good against bad when they can, but they don't have to. They can have two guys that have no problem with one another get into the ring and have a great match. They tie up to start and get into a corner with a clean break. JJ gets in a solid Hammer Lock and Hussla makes an almost comical attempt to get free by running around the ring, but JJ's size advantage comes into play. He easily keeps up with Hussla. Hussla eventually does reverse the hold but JJ uses Hussla's tactic of running around the ring to escape, causing Hussla to fly through the ropes. JJ gets in the ring first and in a rare gesture of sportsmanship, holds the ropes open for Hussla to get into the ring. Lots more wearing down by the two men, but JJ trips Hussla up for two. After a snap suplex, JJ sets Hussla up in the corner for a shoulder to the midsection, but no one was home, and JJ eats steel post and falls out of the ring. As he goes to get in, Hussla holds the ropes, but fakes out JJ by attacking as he is in the ropes. Hussla is now in control of the match and gets in a solid elbow block for a two count pin attempt. After he pulls JJ up he drops kicks him back down and covers for two again. Hussla isn't done yet. He body slams JJ for another two count. He is getting visibly frustrated. He sets up JJ in the corner, but meets JJ;s boot instead. JJ goes up top for the Victory Roll and gets the three. Hussla is very upset by this loss and attacks the worn out JJ, which I might add (and Hoss agreed) was totally uncalled for. WINNER: J.J. DUQUESNE via Pin fall FOURTH MATCH Bennie Da Bookie v. Bo Lewis Surprisingly, Bennie had nothing to say tonight when he came to the ring. That's too bad, he works the mic well and usually gets the crowd riled up pretty well. This match starts with a tie up into a head lock by Lewis. An Irish Whip into a cross body block gets Lewis the two count early. Another headlock by Lewis who is trying to wear Bennie down. Bennie pushes him off, and misses with the Big Boot, but hits soundly with the Super kick. Bennie covers for two and goes straight to the knee choke while Lewis is down. Bennie follows up with an elbow drop for another two count pin attempt. Bennie puts Lewis into the corner and begins chopping. Lewis fights his was out of the corner, but the momentum is stopped by Bennies "Greco-Roman" thumb to the eye (a signature move which he should name). Bennie slams on a DDT and pins for two and not satisfied with the ref's ability to count tries again and gets two again. Bennie puts Lewis on the ropes to choke him some more but the ref gets Bennie off of him. Lewis pulls a cool reverse leg sweep, hits a hard clothesline and pins for two. Lewis Body Slam's Bennie into position for the something now. He goes up top and hits a textbook flying head butt! Lewis apparently went to the Benoit School of Flying Head butts. Lewis slowly pins for two. The head butt took too much out of him. Bennie recovers and gets in a nice Samoan Drop. He sets Lewis up and goes to the top. AS he is howling up there, Lewis recovers and "Flair" tosses him from the top. He goes up top and as Bennie gets up hits a Flying Leg Drop from the top rope for the three count! WINNER: BO LEWIS via Pin fall INTERMISSION Strangely enough, there is no autograph/photo session tonight. I am saddened by this, but is it drown my sorrows in cold Mountain Dew and chewy Starburst. Hoss and Patrick Black remind us about the show at the Grand Victoria Casino on July 13th. WCW Heavyweight Champion Booker T will be wrestling veteran Beautiful Bobbie Eaton in the Main Event! As a prelude to the next match, A-Squad and Guffman interrupt Pat. since Dean and Chet were the last two men in the Battle Royal earlier, they will have to wrestle each other. Guffman says that he has a quarter, and they will settle the match right there. Mr. Commissioner is not at all satisfied with that and says that the two have to wrestle each other or they will no longer wrestle in the HWA. Guffman then has the best idea I have ever heard him generate. Since Matt Stryker and Derek Neikirk have to wrestle each other (and they apparently don't want to since they are hardcore faces), and Chet and Dean don't want to wrestle each other, why don't they have a non-title tag match. before Patrick can reply, Stryker and Neikirk come out and say that since they have beaten the A-Squad a number of times, the match should be for the title. Pat Black agrees and adds that they had better find where Tina McGuiness is before the end of the night. We have a new match! FIFTH MATCH - TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH Cruiserweight Champion Matt Stryker and Derek Neikirk (with Hellena Heavenly) v. Chet "The Jet" Jablonski and Dean "The Dream" Jablonski (with Brock Guffman) Chet and Derek start the match. Derek starts off strong, but Chet gets the tag to Dean. Dean and Derek trade heavy chops, but Derek keeps control. Stryker tags in and tries a suplex, but can't quite get it. He resets and pulls of a nice snap suplex for a two count. Derek tags in and the two beat Dean down in the corner. An Irish whip into a spinning body slam gets Derek a two count for the effort. Dean recovers and gets Derek in the corner, but gets up close and personal with Neikirk's boot. Stryker tags in and kick Dean down in the corner. Dean gets out and slaps a head scissors on to the Cruiserweight champ. Dean lets up and Stryker recovers quickly. He hit two hard European uppercuts, and an elbow. He covers for a two count. Derek tags in and the two get a double team hip toss on Dean. Dean is wearing out at this point, and the Stryker/Neikirk team is very cohesive. Dean powers back and gets a nice float over suplex on Derek, and covers for two. Derek gets the tag and Stryker and he get the double team back body drop on Dean. Dean finally gets the tag to Chet who has been itching to get in. He flies off the ropes and gets a two count on Stryker. Stryker just can't outfight the fresher man. Chet eats boot AND elbow while Stryker is in the corner, but still gets the POWERbomb and a two count (which is interrupted by Derek). Chet tags out and they get a double team body block. Dean sets up a rope choke on Stryker, and when the ref pulls him off, Guffman gets his two cents in as well. Dean hits an elbow to Stryker's back and covers for two. Chet tags in and they pull a PERFECT double team Dreamweaver (Wheelbarrow Suplex). I should add at this point that the crowd is APPLAUDING ALL of the wrestlers (including Dean and Chet) when they pull off cool moves like this one. Chet covers for the two count. Chet goes up to the top rope, but misses whatever move he was trying (it is hard to tell what he was trying). Both men get to their corners and tag. Derek hits a spinebuster on Dean and tries to pin but only gets two. Dean bulldogs Derek and covers for two of his own. Chet comes back in and hits a nice Belly-to-Belly suplex that he bridges into a pin attempt, which was broken up by Stryker. The ref focuses on Stryker, and Dean comes in. They get a double team Back Body Drop and Chet leaves. There was no legal tag, but the ref didn't see it. Dean wrenches Derek's neck hard. After he lets up, Derek gets the tag, but the ref misses it, so chaos ensues. Dean slaps on his "Facemask" slam (simply put it is an Iron Claw Choke slam). Dean covers, but only gets the two. Derek tags out and Stryker gets in a spinning body slam, but the momentum is ended with a stiff lariat off the ropes by Chet. Dean takes care of Derek as Chet hits the spear for the three count pin. WINNER AND STILL CHAMPIONS: THE JABLONSKI BROTHERS MAIN EVENT Heavyweight Champion Race Steele and the Machine v. Surfer Cody Hawk and "Mr. Wrestling" Nick Dinsmore Cody and Machine Start. Lots of wear down exchanges by these two, but Cody locks in a hammer lock. Nick tags in and continues. He covers quickly for a two count. Race tags in for a very even match up. Finally, Nick gets a nice Belly-to-Belly suplex into bridge pin for a two count. Now the next exchanges were rather comical. Race got Nick into his corner and had Machine holds him. AS he ran in, Nick ducked and he hit Machine. The two go out and regroup, this time, Race holds Nick and Machine runs up, but this time, when Nick ducks, Machine stops short. Nick grabs them both and rams their head into one another. Both men leave the ring again to regroup. Race go in this time, but the other men are waiting. They pile Race and Machine up in the corner, then, when they fall out, they pull an awesome double team move. I can only call it the double team "ROWING" groin pull. It was as if Cody and Nick were on a rowing machine and Race and Machines legs were the oars. Both men sold it well and left the ring AGAIN. Finally Race goes back in, but Machine slaps his back in a "tag". Inevitably, the two men bump. Race gets out of the ring, and as Cody is whipped into the ropes, Race pulls the ropes down, causing Cody to fall out. Race hits a couple solid chops and throws Cody back in (side note: I think that Race practices his chops on brick walls or thick oak trees. He has the hardest chops I have ever seen, aside from Benoit). Race tags in and Race chops Cody down again in the corner. Race pulls off a nice tilt-a-whirl slam on Cody and pins for two. Machine tags in and Kicks Cody down in the corner. He chokes Cody with his boot, and when the ref pulls him off, Race chokes him too. As Cody gets up to fight back, Race grabs a handful of hair and pulls yanks Cody to the mat. He tags in and gets his own groin pull in (as revenge, of course). After that, Race drops his knee into Cody's groin. Cody is having a hard time getting the tag. The Hawk/Dinsmore team is not nearly as cohesive as the Stryker/Neikirk team. Race gets in a nice Float over Suplex onto Cody for a two count. Cody finds a way to get his Riptide on Race, putting both men down. Both men tag, but Nick is on fire. He clears the ring, but also bumps the ref. Nick gets ready for a German Suplex, but Race hits him in the back with a chair. Machine pins and Race revives the ref for the three count. Cody is miffed and hits Race in the head with the chair. Patrick Black hurries out and says that he is sick of all of this and that Cody Hawk will get his title Shot next week. Machine and Race are escorted out by security. Tickets for this event are dirt cheap and come in the full day and half day variety. For $10 in advance, you can come to both shows and the fan festival, or if you just want to go to one show and the fan festival, it's only $8 in advance. You'll get around 8 hours of EWA action if you pick up the full day ticket...that's only $1.25 an hour if you break it down. Nobody gives you better value than that. In the first show, we've got a 20-man over-the-top rope Royal Rumble. The first 10 participants have been announced and you can find out who they are on the front page of the EWA website at www.ewawrestling.com We've heard rumors that the EWA may expand the number of wrestlers in the Rumble because of the response from wrestlers all over New England asking for a shot. The winner of the Rumble gets a heavyweight title shot at the winner of the Don Juan Desanto/Larry Huntley heavyweight title match which will also be held at 2 p.m. And, Adam Hastey, who came within inches of winning that title earlier this month will get another chance at gold when he goes up against reigning hardcore champion Frankie Armadillo. Then, the fan festival. We've got all kinds of exciting things in the works, including special autograph sessions, question and answer sessions...and we're even thinking of having a game-show to determine the smartest EWA personality, with fans winning all the prizes!!! For any fan of the EWA, this will be a very special event. Finally, at 7 p.m., the guys climb back in the ring to do it all over again. Along with the winner of the Rumble taking on the heavyweight champion (be it Huntley or Desanto), you'll see the first tag team title defense of the Elements of Suicide against former champions the Asian Contingent.
