Thanks to Steven Yellen for sending this report in!
Roddy Piper monologue..."no one in this organization will kiss Vince McMahon's ass"
Jimmy Hart and Hail make their way to the ring to confront the commissioner Piper...
This leads to the opening bout: Greg Valentine defeated Hail (7 minutes) after Jimmy's interference with the megaphone backfires.
Kid Krash (Kid Kash from ECW) pinned Josh Mathews (Finalist of Tough Enough) (15 Minutes)...This was the best match of the night. The match began with lots of chain wrestling followed by multiple arm drags. There were several high spots followed with top rope body splashes onto the outside. Dozens of near falls occurred before both men executed some finishing maneuvers resulting in more near falls. Brainbuster suplexes, senton bombs, superplexes, and last but not least...the patented Kid Kash piledriver. This was definitely a must see match, and these two gentlemen worked their asses off. They both deserve to be in the spotlight, and the fans appreciated their talent immensely with a standing ovation.
Dave Penzer gets annoyed by "What?" chants in-between his advertisements/announcements.
British Storm Ian Harrison made Norman Smiley tap out to a headscissors submission maneuver (9 minutes). Yes, Norman Smiley did the wiggle...on his opponent as well as the female referee Little Genie.
Drezden defeated Big Vito as a result of a disqualification after Big Vito low blowed Drezden a half dozen times (7 minutes). This match was absolutely miserable, and they called for the obvious quick finish after a negative crowd response.
Intermission: Take your picture in the ring with the XWF title belt and with the XGI girls....Chiquita (former Nitro girl), Chris (a former Asian Nitro girl...but not Chae), and Gorgeous George (caked up in make-up as usual)...the line clearly had over 300 fans and was cut off so the show could continue ($10 per picture).
Hacksaw Jim Duggan defeated the Wall (9 Minutes) with the running clothesline out of the three point stand. The Wall has certainly transformed his body immensely and appears to be in excellent shape although this match was barely watchable at best.
The Road Warriors defeated the Nasty Boys (15 Minutes). This match included about 8 minutes of stalling which was definitely unnecessary. Since Jerry Saggs can not take too many bumps, Knobbs performed most of the grunt of the wrestling match which was quite slow and sluggish. Hawk performed a top rope clothesline for the victory (nope...not the doomsday device). At a PCW house show in the Chicago land area a few months ago, Hawk performed a frog splash...but he did not attempt one at the XWF inaugural event.
Three Way Jeopardy Match: Vampiro scored the one and only deciding fall to defeat his two opponents Buff Bagwell and Curt Hennig (16 Minutes). Vampiro performed several spin kicks including one from the top rope. Hennig successfully hit two hennig plexes for near falls. Vampiro accidently knocks out the referee. Piper interferes and takes out Curt Hennig running him into the steel barricade. Vampiro pins Buff Bagwell when Little Genie makes the three count to win the three way match with minimal fan cheers, responses, or approval.
Overall, the entrances and the crowd responses were extremely positive although the wrestling product was pretty lackluster and lame. The second bout involving Kid Kash and Josh Mathews stole the show, and you will get your money's worth if you are able to observe these two in action against one another. The rest of the matches were snoozers. XWF hats=$15, XWF T-shirts=$20. A near capacity crowd of nearly 3000 viewed the show. Jimmy Hart's entrance themes are laughable but catchy. I will not be attending another XWF show in the future...but it certainly made me giggle.

Note from Calvin - We are going to be looking for more XWF reports as they continue to run shows. If you go to one of these events please send in a report even if they have the same match finishes or not. One of the main things we are looking for, along with the match results of course, is perspective. When writing your report do it how Steven did in the report above - simple match finishes and an overall perspective at the end. Thanks!
