Thanks to Nick Ponton for sending this report in!
Countdown to XWF December 22, 2001 Hosted by: Mean Gene Okerlund
Show starts with a video which is probably going to be the title sequence then we go to Mean Gene in the ring at Universal Arena. Soon they are going to be coming to an arena in our area. The XWF features the great stars of today as long as the stars of tomorrow. During this program, they're going to show us the great stars in action and we're going to hear first hand from fans who have already experienced the XWF and as from stars who have seen it.
The music video plays again showing highlights from the shows in Orlando. A voiceover tells us they are going to introduce us to the newest in wrestling. No more primadonnas live and in your face it's the XWF wrestling federation. You'll see Rena, Rowdy Piper, Curt Henning, Ian, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, The Nasty Boys, Vampiro, Johnny B Badd, Norman Smiley, Konna, Kid Kash, Bobby Heenan, Sonny Onoo, Jimmy Hart and much more.
Back to Okerlund in the ring. He says there's an amazing new wrestling organization that has just launched out of Universal Studios in Florida. It's going to be fair to everyone whether you've been in wrestling for 10 minutes or 10 years.
Okerlund says a lot goes into planning a wrestling show. Talk about some great names. International superstars from all over the world. Piper from Scotland, Jimmy Snuka from the south pacific, THe Nasy Boys, Vampiro, Buff Bagwell, The Road Warriors, Curt Henning mananged by Bobby Heenan, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Greg Valentine, the XGI girls, and Rena. Most importantly, the XWF is about the fans. Get ready for the greatest show of your live when XWF arrives in your area.
Okerlund says it's one thing to see XWF action on television, but it's something entirely different to see it live in your area. The one thing he's heard in the past is wrestling fans would like to see wrestling brought back to center. Wrestling has gotten out of hand in the last few years and the XWF is bringing it back to where it belongs. There is nothing like seeing an XWF event live and in person. Do not hesitate. Get the best seats available right now. Pick up the phone right now.
A commercial is shown for the XWF show in Hammond, IN on Friday Dec. 28 (I'm in Chicago, so other markets are probably seeing commericals for the event near you). Call now 1-888-38-4112 and as a special offer, you'll also recieve a bonus video program featuring the XWF stars in action. If you call right now, you could win a VIP backstage pass.
Back to Okerlund in the ring. The XWF has finally delivered. No more primadonnas and they are in your face and they are even family friendly. The first thing Gene noticed about the XWF is the reaction of the fans. They are embracing the superstars of the XWF.
Clips are shown of fans giving their impression of the XWF. Everything is postive.
Okerlund says he's covered so many matches at ringside and now the fans have the chance to join him up close. The XWF will feature some of the great stars of today and the stars of tomorrow.
Konnan says the XWF has secured some of the best wrestling talent available. He's been all over the world and he's done his thing without forgetting Lucha Libre which is the most exciting form of wrestling in his opinion.
Jimmy Hart says they're not "X" extreme wrestling. They're "X" exciting wrestling.
Referee Little Jeanie says she's the first full time woman referee in wreslting.
Sonny Onoo tries to connect with the Japanese fans and tells them in Japanese they are coming soon.
Hail says if your a hardcore wrestling fan, you'll watch the XWF. Live hardcore wrestling in your face.
Gene Simmons says you have not seen what his Demon can do yet. He's coming to get you.
Hacksaw says the thing he likes about the XWF is no primmadonnas.
Alice Cooper says welcome to XWF wrestling. Welcome to his nightmare.
Jimmy Hart says never trust a midget.
Okerlund says the XWF is coming to town. It's one thing to see wrestling on television, but there's nothing like seeing it live in person.
The commerical for the upcoming show is shown again.
Okerlund says wrestling's creme de le creme congrates for television shoots, the booking takes place and you put them all together, you have excitement and the XWF is excitement.
Rena, Johnny B. Badd, and Norman Smiley are shown arriving for the first show. The techinical crew is shown setting up and getting everything ready for the first show.
A voiceover reminds us No More Primmadonnas then plugs the upcoming show again. It's wrestling the way you want it.
Paul Stanley asks if we're ready to Rock and Roll all night and party everyday.
Hacksaw says he's been home watching some of that other wrassling on television. It looks like Baywatch without the ocean. Hacksaw hears about the XWF, pulls himself out of the rocking chair, goes up to the attic and pulls out the 2x4 and calls the XWF and says he's going to do what he does best. Beat people up.
Again, Gene says the XWF will feature some of the best superstars of today with the superstars of tomorrow.
A bio of Rowdy Roddy Piper is shown. He's the commissioner.
Curt Henning's bio is shown followed by Greg The Hammer Valentine, Jimmy Hart, Hail, The British Storm Ian Harrison, The Nasty Boys, the Road Warriors, Hacksaw Jim Duggan. See these names and many more.
Hacksaw goes inside Willie Nelson's tour bus to see what he thinks of the XWF. Willie says it's kinda like letting the fox in the henhouse to let them have their own federation. Willie thinks primmadonnas are before Madonna. Willie says when you start a new company, you start at the bottom and go straight to the top. Don't worry about that in between stuff.
Hacksaw goes inside now and interviews Willie. They talk about September 11 for a while and Hacksaw talks bout his time at an army base in Alaska. A Colonel comes up and tells Hacksaw he's been carring that flag for a long time. How about if he carries it a little longer. Hacksaw says as long as there is air in his lungs he'll carry the flag of the USA.
Back to Okerlund. He says it's been a long time coming and the XWF has finally delivered. No more primadonnas. They are fan friendly. The fans are going to get what they want. Make the appropriate telephone calls and do it now. Gene's covered wrestling for over 30 years and he thought he'd seen it all, but it's nothing compared to the XWF. He looks forward to seeing you live at ringside.
This has been the XWF Countdown.
The commercial for the upcoming show is shown again.
