Matt and Jeff Hardy are said to be in trouble with WWF management after not working a high flying match against each other at Vengeance. The two worked a ground style match, totally opposite of what the WWF wanted, and Vince was not happy about it. Matt and Jeff have since been squashed on WWF television. Rumor has it that Matt and Jeff are growing tired of being on the road all the time and that is one of the contributing reasons why Jeff has been showing up late recently. Doug Bloom sent this in By Dirty Doug Bloom…12/13/01 Radio Show - Welcome to my review of Chairshots the radio show starring Brent Fusaro and Rod Siciliano. The show airs on 88.1 FM WBLQ in Westerly, Rhode Island on Thursday nights from 6-7:30 PM. This is only a review of the show; the whole show can be heard on www.chairshots.com with use of Real Player. This week’s guests are In Studio Guest: The Manager of Champions- Bill Alfonso, Former WWF and WCW Star- Dean Malenko and Former ECW Star- Nova. Dean Malenko - Dean said he wrestled last Tuesday down in Cincinnati with some of the WWF developmental guys. - Malenko said he was just trying to help the guys out and give the guys some experience by getting back in the ring. - Dean said he closed down his wrestling school about two years ago because he was on the road too much and he didn’t want to be one of those guys who promised to train wrestlers and then wasn’t around. - Malenko said that the developmental territories for the WWF are good because it allows the guys a chance to get the ring rust off before going onto TV because he general public won’t allow you to work off ring rust on TV because they demand to be entertained. - Dean said he wrestled Chad Collier and he also trained him. Dean said he loves working with Chad because he is a great talent and he also is a great mat wrestler. - Malenko said that the style is changing in wrestling today to a more high flying/short match style. He prefers to wrestle a mat style and work the crowd, which is why he wrestled in Japan for so many years. - Dean said he starts back to work with the WWF on January 3rd as a road agent. - Malenko said he will miss being in the ring and entertaining the people, but right now he is really focused on training the younger guys and helping them as much as he can. - Dean said the fans in Japan are more educated when it comes to wrestling holds. - Malenko said in Japan you are looked at more as an athlete than an entertainer. - Dean said the fans in Japan are more respectful and it was a place that fit him and his style. - Malenko said that Eddie Guerrero is one of his best friends and acknowledges that Eddie screwed up but he feels Eddie will be back. - Dean calls Eddie the total package when it comes to wrestling because he can do it all. Dean also said Eddie is his favorite wrestler to work with. - Malenko said that the radicals left WCW together, but they did it for different reasons and it was scary walking away from guaranteed money and not knowing what’s next but his reason was that he was not happy with a lot of things that were going on in WCW. - Dean said he was tired of busting his butt and not being appreciated and he was tired of getting a push and then being pushed down again. - Malenko said it bothered him to see someone like Chris Benoit, who loves wrestling not want to come to work anymore because of the politics backstage. - Dean said he wanted to leave the business with a good taste in his mouth and working for a guy like Vince McMahon, who is a businessman and respects everybody employed by him. - Malenko said WCW failed because everybody was in charge. - Dean said that the radicals ended up looking like the four smartest guys in the wrestling business after WCW folded, but he said they took a big risk by walking away from a lot of guaranteed money and not knowing if Vince McMahon would pick them up. - Malenko said they talked to Chris Jericho sometimes and he said he loved the WWF and the locker room was great. Malenko said that this was important to them, but it wasn’t a factor in them leaving because at that point they would’ve went anywhere. - Dean said it was a lot of fun to be part of the last run of the four horsemen in WCW, although things are set up to fail there. Dean talked about what a pleasure it was just to be in the ring with Ric Flair. - Malenko said that practical jokes do go on in the locker room and everybody reacts in different ways, but he can’t speak on what happened to Billy Silverman because he doesn’t know much about it. - Dean said Les Thatcher is a good guy and a great teacher and he has a lot of fun with him. - Malenko said that Jaime Knoble is the guy who is ready to be called up because he is full of life and lives this business and has a great attitude. - Dean said Jaime has a great future in this business. - Malenko thanks Rod and Brent for having him on and then signs off. Nova - Nova said he spent the day with Chris Chetti and Little Guido out in Long Island working on Motion Capture stuff for a new Acclaim video game. - Nova said he was currently in the car with Little Guido and he was driving him back to Queens and he was busting his balls for not doing any driving. - Nova said the video game they did work for was Legends Of Wrestling 2. - Nova said they were paid to do all of the legends moves, like the Hulk Hogan boot to the face and leg drop, the Macho Man elbow drop, the Koko B. Ware prance and the Ultimate Warrior press slam. - Nova said there were two kinds of guys when ECW folded, there was the guy who would sit home and bitch and cry and then there were guys like him who continued to do what they love doing and that is travel all over the world and wrestle. - Nova said talked about a guy named Frankie who he has been teaming up with in UPW out in California and on the East Coast whom he thinks he will be with for awhile. Nova also said that Frankie is from Boston and trained with Killer Kowalski. - Nova said his brother runs Phoenix Championship Wrestling in New Jersey and runs a show on Comcast Cable on Wed. at 8PM. - Nova said he talked to a few people from the XWF and he is really pumped about it. He talked with Crowbar and Jimmy Hart and he thinks it is going to take off and it is good to have another place to wrestle because it is better for the business as a whole. - Nova said he wrestled a few dark matches for the WWF and they went well and everyone was really nice. Nova said he understands that there are only so many spots and he said he will continue to wrestle hard and if his time comes than great and if it doesn’t then at least he worked as hard as he could for it. - Nova talked about his favorite TV show, The Greatest American Hero. - Nova said he owns every episode including some unreleased shows that he purchased on EBAY. - Nova talked about a time he was doing an autograph session with Spike Dudley and this kid walked up with an old school WWF Red Rooster shirt and he wanted it so bad that he offered the kid $50 for it. The kid said no, so he contemplated beating up a 15-year-old kid for his T-shirt. - Bill Alfonso shows up at the studio and says hello to Nova, who speaks very highly of him. - Nova said he would be in Pittsburgh on Saturday 12/15 for the East Coast Wrestling Association. - Nova said he just dropped off Guido and he plugged his Email address, which is novaecw@aol.com and he thanked Rod and Brent for having him on and then signs off. Bill Alfonso - Bill talked about the incident with Howard Brody and he said that it was embarrassing and unfortunate and Howard got what was coming to him. Bill said that he got paid and that this type of situation had never happened to him in his 23 years in the business. - Alfonso said then said he wasn’t embarrassed about it and that the guy tried to short change him so he punched him five times in five seconds and he enjoyed it. - A guy named Jerry called in and said that on Saturday December 15th he would have Jerry “The King” Lawler, Taylor, Sherri Martel, Terry Taylor, The Road Warriors, Sabu and more at the Red Mile in Lexington, KY at a show he’s promoting, which includes Bill Alfonso. - Bill said Sabu is going back and forth to Japan and he is doing fantastic. - Alfonso said Sabu is a big name here and a bigger name in Japan and is too hardcore for Monday Night TV. - Bill said that he talked to Sabu the other day and Sabu said that he was wrestling an Indy show the other day and he was in the ring with this guy and when the bell rang the guy took off because he was too afraid to wrestle him. - Alfonso said Rob Van Dam works a hard style and some guys can’t keep up with him and he wasn’t intentionally hurting anyone in the WWF, but some of the more entertainment prone wrestlers get too laid back against him. - Bill said he talks to RVD on a monthly basis and just saw him the other day at a Cottonmouth Kings show. RVD knows some of the guys and they got to go backstage. - Alfonso said he was contacted by the XWF and he has a verbal agreement with them, but they don’t know what to do with him yet, so he is going to sit and wait it out. - Bill said that he feels that the XWF has a good chance to make it. - Alfonso said he has been working with Sabu a lot on the Indys. - Bill said to book him you can call Chairshots Radio. - Alfonso thanked Rod and Brent for having him on and then signs off. - Check Out Coastline Championship Wrestling on December 31st at the Armory in Westerly, Rhode Island. Ex: Section 116 row(15-23) As long as they're in the 100 section and the row isn't a huge differential, I am willing to swap 2 tickets for another 2 that are similar. The reason for the switch is simply cause I don't want to go with the other 2 people beside me for personal reasons.
