Backstage segment cut from Raw, TSN edits Raw, Acclaim LOW contest Submitted by William Martinez on Monday, December 17, 2001 at 11:39 PM EST
There was a backstage segment that was cut from Raw tonight. It was Sharmell Sullivan interviewing Chuck Palumbo and Billy Gunn. No word on why it was cut but here is the transcript.
Sharmell Sullivan: Billy Gunn and Chuck Palumbo, coming up next you guys get to make your debut on Raw as a tag team against Tajiri and the Big Show right here tonight in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Billy Gunn: Lafayette, Louisiana, is that where we are? Because I could have sworn when we got dropped off it was like on the set of Deliverance. You know, I don't know what is harder - trying to beat me and Chuck in a match or trying to find a half ass good looking chic in this town.
Chuck Palumbo: Let me show you something. See these (opens mouth and points to teeth), these are teeth. I got a funny feeling alot of you people don't know what they are. That's ok. Did you notice the natural curls or these two ripped chisseled physiques. These are the genetics you could have had if mom and dad were not brother and sister.
Billy Gunn: So everyone here in cajun country sit back, shut up, and watch in awe as the two premiere athletes put on a show that not even this town deserves.

TSN edited out The Undertaker's abuse to Lita on tonight's Raw and any replays that may have aired. Instead of showing the usual crowd shots, they decided to cut to commercial immediately after Jeff Hardy was given the Last Ride off the stage.

It is now being reported that the USA Networks is teaming up with Universal Studios. Does this mean good things to come for the XWF, the promotion which Universal owns? The story below is courtesy of http://www.showbizdata.com ...
In a stock-and-cash deal that meshes Vivendi Universal with Barry Diller's USA Networks in a complicated weave, the Franco-American company will pay about $10.5 billion for most of Diller's entertainment assets while at the same time naming Diller chairman and CEO of the new merged entity, to be called Vivendi Universal Entertainment (VUE). In an announcement issued late Sunday, the company said that Universal Studios' President and COO, Ron Meyer, and its chairman, Stacey Snider, will remain. USA Networks is expected to remain a separate entity (under the name USA Interactive) but will limit its operations to home shopping, Ticketmaster and the Internet. (It was not clear what relationship, if any, would exist between it and Vivendi's struggling wireless Internet portal Vizzavi.) In an interview with today's (Monday) Los Angeles Times, Vivendi chief Jean-Marie Messier commented, "I'm getting an option on Barry Diller and he's getting one of the most exciting entertainment groups." Separately, Vivendi agreed on Friday to acquire a 10-percent stake of EchoStar Communications, which operates the Dish Network, for $1.5 million.

As reported earlier, the Natinoal Enquirer has a story detailing the breakup of Triple H and Joanie Laurer. However, it was revealed this past Friday that the story was taken verbatim from Joanie's appearance on the Howard Stern radio show a couple weeks ago. Apparently, the Enquirer does this often, according to staff member Mike Walker, who appeared on Howard's show that morning.
