More on WWF roster cuts, Fmr. WWF talent safe, WWF split update, more Submitted by William Martinez on Friday, November 30, 2001 at 3:29 PM EST
As we reported yesterday, Johnny Ace will be headed to the HWA on Wednesday to inform them that some of the talent will be cut. Ace will be doing the same at OVW on December 12th. As expected, morale within the HWA is down since news broke that as many as 20 wrestlers will be cut.
Wrestlers who have had WWF backgrounds in the past, such as D'Lo Brown and Val Venis, appear to be safe from the impending cuts as they do not have any individual meetings scheduled. Look for them to return to the main WWF roster soon as part of the WWF's plan to split their main roster.
The way the WWF is expected to split the roster is to have Vince McMahon and Ric Flair take turns making picks for their side of the WWF.
Apparently, once the roster split happens, Raw will keep its name but Smackdown will be changed to Nitro.
