Hello to you all, and welcome to this week's instalment of WWF Classics. Just to fill any new readers in, WWF Classics is shown only in the UK, and is basically an hour of exciting Wrestling Challenge action from mid-1987. So with that in mind, let's begin this weeks show.

Gorilla Monsoon welcomes those who dare to watch, and this week's show is once again from Lake Placid, New York. Monsoon is by himself at the moment, and will be joined by his broadcast colleague, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, later on in the show. The opening video package plays, and we are ready for action. On today's show we will see the Honky Tonk Man, Brutus Beefcake, the Rougeaus, the Islanders, Hillbilly Jim and Tito Santana all in action. Bobby Heenan has also promised us a big surprise, so that's something else to look forward to. Seriously. Let's head down to ringside.

Match #1
The Islanders (w/ Bobby Heenan) vs. Rick Hunter & Omar Atlas
Johnny V. joins the commentary position, as Heenan walks to ringside without his neckbrace. It is questioned as to whether or not he actually needed it in the first place. Tama opens with some chops to the chest of Atlas, as Haku tags in and delivers a reverse thrust kick. He rakes the eyes of Atlas and levels him with some low punches, as we go to comments from Rick Martel, who has intentions on gaining revenge on the Islanders. Haku is dominating Atlas, and delivers a bodyslam, before tagging in Tama. However, he misses a swinging elbow, and Hunter tags in and clotheslines Tama down to the mat. His advantage doesn't last though, as Haku tags back in and delivers an inverted atomic drop. Haku rings the proverbial 'bell' of Hunter, before Tama tags back in and knocks Hunter down. Both Islanders then whip Hunter to the ropes and deliver a double headbutt, before doing the same move whilst Hunter is on the canvas. The Islanders chalk up yet another impressive victory.

We go to comments from the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase, and we see footage of him in the ring, having Virgil untie his boots. A guy from the crowd then enters the ring upon DiBiase's request, and he kisses Ted's bare foot, all for the sake of a $100 bill. Hey, everyone has a price for the Million Dollar Man.

Match #2
Hillbilly Jim & Tito Santana vs. Barry Horowitz & Joe Mirto
Bobby Heenan resumes his normal spot in the commentary booth, as the bell rings for the beginning of the bout. Hillbilly starts out with Mirto, and they tie up, before a clean break. They lock up once more, as Mirto goes behind and locks his arms around Hillbilly's waist, but he is outpowered and forced to break. We go to comments from midget wrestler, Little Beaver, who looks really excited, for no apparent reason. Santana and Horowitz have tagged in, and Santana has locked in an armlock on Horowitz. Santana then delivers a dropkick, before Barry runs right into a back bodydrop. He then applies an armbar takedown, and as Horowitz gets back to his feet, is shoulder charged right down again. Mirto tags back in, but gets dropkicked, before delivering the patented flying forearm. Santana locks on the figure four leglock, and Mirto gives up almost immediately. After the bell, the triumphant pair get the crowd on their feet and start dancing, as Heenan yells, "turn that music off now!"

Mean Gene Okerlund is backstage alongside Slick, who has built himself quite an empire here in the WWF. Slick brings in Butch Reed, before criticising Superstar Billy Graham for attempting to put down his man. Butch himself then says that he has a great body, and he intends to knock Billy Graham's lights right out. No offense, but i don't think that the lights were ever on.

The Jumping Bomb Angels are backstage, the dynamic female tag team, and they simultaneously bite into the famous WWF ice cream bars. Incidentally, i was recently informed that the bars are still available in stores across USA, but instead now go by the name of "Rugrats" ice cream bars. What more can be said?

Match #3
The Honky Tonk Man (w/ Jimmy Hart) vs. David Stoudemiere
The intercontinental champion gets underway with an armlock, and then a rake to the face as it is reversed. Honky whips him to the ropes and then slides out of the way, as Stoudemiere goes down. Honky then delivers an elbow to the sternum, before delivering yet another elbow after having sent his opponent to the ropes. Honky drags Stoudemiere up and sends him to the outside, delivers an elbow, and then throws him back in between the ropes. Honky sends the opponent to the ropes and delivers a clothesline, before delivering the finishing manoeuvre: the shake, rattle 'n' roll. (also known as a swinging neckbreaker). Easy victory for the champion, who thanks the crowd after the bell. He then demands the music to be turned on, as he grabs his guitar, swings his hips and generally looks "hip".

Mean Gene Okerlund is standing by with Bobby Heenan, who must have got from the announcers table to the backstage area in a record time. He says that he does not have a stable, he has a family. Harley Race stops by, and says that he is the king, and the crown on his head kind of proves his point. Heenan states that he is going to put the crown on the line soon, and it will be defended just like a title would be.

Match #4
The Rougeaus & Brutus Beefcake vs. Mario Mancini, Dusty Wolf & Mike Sharpe
Brutus begins the bout with Sharpe, who proclaims himself to be the best Canadian athlete. Comments from Danny Davis reveal that he is sick and tired of bias referees, and so he is watching this match to keep an eye on the official. Brutus is being double-teamed in the wrong corner, behind the referee's back, as Iron Mike unloads on him. Brutus manages to find his way out of the corner with some swift elbows, as Jacques delivers three beautiful dropkicks upon tagging in. Raymond then tags in and delivers a reverse mule kick, before Beefcake executes a huge backbody drop. Brutus delivers a sleeper to Mancini, as the Rougeaus double dropkick Wolf and Sharpe. Mancini is sent fast to sleep, and the victory is imminent. The victorious threesome are about to begin cutting away on Mancini's hair, but Danny Davis runs down to the ring and questions the referee as to why this is allowed. He shortly leaves though, as Brutus happily chops away at Mancini's fine locks. Brutus then spraypaints the letter "B" onto Mancini's chest, before dying his hair as well. He grabs the mirror, and as Mancini comes to, he is mortified. The three then leap out of the ring and chase Danny Davis, but he is just too quick for them. In more ways than one.

Craig DeGeorge is standing by with the New Dream Team, consisting of Greg Valentine and Dino Bravo. Johnny V. is wearing a t-shirt with the name "Beefcake" inside a red circle with a cross, so presumably he's upset with the Barber. Bravo warns the Rougeaus, and says that they will break both of Beefcake's legs. Valentine then takes his turn, and says that if the referee's will not stop his haircutting antics, then he will take the law into his own hands. Hey Brutus - cut it out!

We go to painful footage of Superstar Billy Graham's return to the ring, and we are treated to footage of him training to get back in shape. We also see footage of Butch Reed, who says he is not at all impressed, and he will take him down upon his return to the ring. Footage of his return on Superstars is then shown, followed by Reed issuing a posedown challenge. The two take their turns to pose in front of the fans, and Graham is the clear fan favourite. However, as Graham makes his third pose, Reed attacks him from behind and begins attacking the recently injured hip. Just when all seems right with the world, Superstar gets back up and sends Reed flying out of the ring, much to the delight of the fans. Billy is then announced as the winner of this mighty posedown challenge.

The hunt for Bam Bam Bigelow is still in question, as Slick and Mr. Fuji are shown arguing as to whether or not it is he that has the managerial rights to him. Back in the arena, it's time for Bobby Heenan's big surprise, so let's head down to ringside.

Match #5
Ravishing Rick Rude (w/ Bobby Heenan) vs. Leaping Lanny Poffo
Heenan gets into the ring and announces the entrance of Rick Rude, the newest member of the Heenan family, who is making his WWF debut in this match. Johnny V. once again joins the broadcast position, as Rude gets the microphone and asks for all the men in the arena to be quiet whilst he disrobes. Johnny V. says that he looks similar to Tom Selleck, as they both compliment his amazing physique. Rude starts out with some kicks and he pounds Poffo to the ground, before Poffo runs into a powerslam. Rude scores a two-count, and then goes to the top rope and delivers a knee to the face, but refuses to allow the referee to count to three. Rude then delivers a suplex coming off the top rope, and drapes the knee over the face of Poffo for the easy victory.

Mean Gene Okerlund introduces Randy Savage, who is once again unaccompanied by his manager, Elizabeth. Savage says that Okerlund does not deserve an explanation as to where she is, as Okerlund suggests that she does not want to be here because Savage is not a title holder. Savage is outraged, and says that he is going to go right after the WWF Champion himself, Hulk Hogan, who has been champion for three and a half years at this point.

That's all for this week, but on next week's show we will see The Hart Foundation vs. Jim Powers & Paul Roma from Superstars, and Don Muraco and Cowboy Bob Orton will also be in action.
