Foley's Raw skit, Lawler update, Rock in TV Guide, WWF's Philly show Submitted by William Martinez on Wednesday, November 21, 2001 at 5:17 PM EST
In addition to releasing Jerry Lawler from his XWF contract so he could return to the WWF, the XWF's Jimmy Hart spent a lot of time on Monday to make sure that Lawler could appear on Raw with no repercussions.
Both Paul Heyman and Vince McMahon worked with Mick Foley in writing his "exit" segment that aired on Raw Monday.
The WWF has only sold about 6,000 tickets for this weekend's house show in Philadelphia. That number has to be disappointing considering a main event of Steve Austin vs. Rob Van Dam has been advertised. Look for the show's full card on Friday.
WWF New York to Throw the Ultimate Thanksgiving Celebration And Everyone Is Invited From a Patriotic Float and Food Drive to Lunch, Football and Alicia Keys, It Will Be a Thanksgiving to Remember
NEW YORK, Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- A patriotic Thanksgiving float and a food drive are some of the ways the World Wrestling Federation and its flagship entertainment complex, WWF New York, are celebrating the season.
WWF New York has teamed up with Rock and Wrap It Up, http://www.rockandwrapitup.org, to help fight hunger within the United States this holiday season. Parade day-trippers, Manhattanites and World Wrestling Federation fans alike can help fellow Americans by donating canned foods and non-perishable dry goods at WWF New York, now through December 20. Donations are accepted anytime WWF New York and The World doors are open.
World Wrestling Federation is dedicating its Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade float to all Americans and especially the heroes. The only float in the parade slated to bear the stars and stripes will go down Broadway carrying an array of WWF Superstars, including ring announcer Lilian Garcia who will sing the National Anthem. Garcia is well known for her rendition and she is believed to have sung ``The Star Spangled Banner'' in more sporting arenas in the United States than any other vocalist. This is the first time World Wrestling Federation will have a float in the parade.
WWF New York will open for lunch so parade-goers can come in out of the cold and fulfill their appetites. WWF New York's menu offers something for everyone with a range of choices from burgers to seafood risotto. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving. At 12:30 p.m. WWF New York will broadcast the annual Detroit Lions game, this year against the Green Bay Packers, on their 30-foot television screen -- the largest in Times Square.
Nouveau diva Alicia Keys will host a Thanksgiving Celebration, featuring Funkmaster Flex at The World, New York's hottest nightclub. The party starts at 10:30 p.m. General Admission is $30. VIP Admission is $100 (includes a bottle of champagne). Must be 23 and older. Proper attire required and strictly enforced.
WWF New York and The World are located at 1501 Broadway at 43rd Street in Times Square. Entrance on 43rd Street. For information call 212-398-2563 or visit http://www.wwfnewyork.com.

NBC to re-run WWF episode of Weakest Link
Due to popular demand, NBC is going to re-run the WWF-edition of Weakest Link on Sunday, November 25 at 7 p.m. EST. The WWF episode originally aired on November 12 and was the second highest Weakest Link episode on a Monday night this season (highest was a 7.9 on 9/24/01).
I just saw Big Vito on "Shipmates" on Wednesday afternoon. He scored (supposedly) with a good-looking blonde. He was his normal self throughout the show. Lots of wrestling references from the host, Chris Hardwick. Maybe they'll replay it some time.
