Patterson/Brisco, more on Flair, MAJOR Spoiler for RAW, more

Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco were told, ahead of time, that Paul Heyman would be negatively including them in his Smackdown promo. However, both Brisco and Patterson were all for it and/or wanted it to happen!

Roddy Piper and Hulk Hogan were said to be "cool" to the younger wrestlers at the backstage tapings. Both wrestlers have had interesting impressions on the younger wrestlers, like in WCW, where they were hated for the most part.

The WWF just edited two parts of Paul Heyman's promo on the WWF and Vince McMahon last night on Smackdown. First, they cut out this following quote, which I think was the part of the Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, and Hulk Hogan rant: "It's not my fault. I'm not the one that lifts up my leg and pees all over the memory of Bruno Sammartino. I'm not the one that desecrates the memory of Superstar Billy Graham." Secondly, the WWF edited out one part where Heyman told the fans to "shut up" and to not praise Vince McMahon.

Speaking of Smackdown, the show scored an overnight market rating of a 4.5, which is down from last week's overnight of 4.9. It should translate into the late 3's.

Ric Flair's current Time Warner/AOL contract runs through February. However, the general feeling is that he'd take a 50 cents on the dollar buyout for his remaining time on his contract and join the WWF. It's said that if he signed with the WWF, he'd make up any lost money in the long run through a multi year WWF deal.

At this point, due to Flair's injury prone status at his age, the WWF is highly interested in his promo cutting ability, his name, and overall presence (note: his son is wrestling in Ohio Valley wrestling, also). When or if he's brought in, it's believed that he'll be the leader and spokesperson for some kind of faction or group.

Dave Scherer of 1wrestling.com as spoke to a few industry sources and they said that Jerry "the King" Lawler will in fact make his return to commentating on Monday Night RAW! The possible elimination of Paul Heyman when he was choked out by Tazz could make this happen. The WWF must have finally struck a deal with Lawler after their long separation, dating back to when Lawler's wife was fired from the WWF. which made Lawler quit the WWF. Since then, Lawler has separated from his wife and has been picking up odd independent jobs.

It should be noted that if Lawler does replace Heyman on RAW, Heyman will still have a job in the WWF as a part of the creative team.
