Early this morning, UPN told us that our ratings for this past Friday's show were an ALL TIME BEST of 1.6 with a 7 share. This translates into more than 25,000 homes, and for every 18-to-49 year old male (our target audience) watching TV at that time, an amazing 42 PERCENT of them were watching IPW. The numbers continue to grow and grow and we encourage you to think about all of your contacts to try and sponsor our show. Best Insurance, Extra Innings and now Able Body are all on board and this will only keep growing.

Scottish Championship Wrestling set to debut.

Negotiations have begun with Linwood Sports Centre and we are hoping to announce February the 16th as the first event. This event is going to be something historic and hopefully the Scottish fans will want to be a part of it.

Having had a 1,000 sell out, last October, for a tribute show, it is hoped that Linwood Sports Centre will be a perfect venue for us to stage the event in. The fact that the people there have experience of hosting this type of event is also very important. A capacity of 600 has been, tentatively, discussed and we hope to get as close to that number of spectators as is possible.

We currently only have a few wrestlers who will almost definitely appear. Scott "Great Scot" McKenzie and Chris Fury need only put pen to paper, so to speak, and we also have interest from "Highlander" Colin McKay. Rob McKay and a few younger Scottish wrestlers will also be appearing and the rest of the card will be put together as soon as we have a definite time and date for the show. We certainly hope that we can give the fans a card to be proud of and that we can make the fans aware of who they will be watching.

I would also like to say that we've been very happy with the reception we've received so far and hope it continues. Indeed, there are many UK based wrestlers who have voiced a wish to be involved and that can only be a good thing.

Pricing for the show will be as follows:

    Adults: £10
    Under 14's: £6
Adult and 1 Child: £14, with each subsequent child at £4 each.
2 Adults and 2 Children: £24, with the £4 charge again for each
    subsequent child.

If anyone would like to pre-book tickets now, they can do so by e-mailing owner@scottishwrestling.com and giving their home address and an idea of how many tickets they would wish to purchase.

For fans outwith Scotland, it is hoped that we will be able to release the event on video. Don't let that stop you buying a ticket and supporting this very ambitious attempt to bring Professional wrestling to Scotland.

    Owner
    Scottish Championship Wrestling ( owner@scottishwrestling.com )

    NWA World Title Statement

McKeesport, PA - In light of recent events, NWA President Jim Miller issued the following statement regarding the NWA World Heavyweight Title and Steve Corino's self-proclaimed "title defense" matches in the Unied Kingdom:

"On October 13th the NWA World Heavyweight Title was held-up due to the controversial finish of the match between then champion Steve Corino and challenger Shin'ya Hashimoto. With six of our NWA Board members split on the decision of how the title should actually change hands, in casting the final vote, I held the title up pending a full investigation. Even though my decision was an unpopular one at the time, I have since received full support from the remaining board members in that we are in agreement that the title is currently vacant.

That said, Mr. Corino clearly had his own agenda at play while on tour in the United Kingdom as he is not the current NWA world champion. Just because he brought a replica belt with him to the ring does not entitle him to call himself 'World Champion.'

Furthermore, Saturday night's match between Mr. Corino and former NWA world champion Gary Steele, in which Mr. Steele won the match, does not constitute that Mr. Steele is now the champion. From the perspective of the NWA Board of Directors, and therefore the official stance on this matter, all this means is that Gary Steele defeated Steve Corino in a match with no significant consequence except for their individual won-lost records. Because Mr. Corino was not champion at the time of the loss, Mr. Steele is not the champion.

All this aside, a full investigation by the NWA Board regarding the NWA world heavyweight title is about to be concluded and a final statement will be issued on October 31st."
