Behind The Shotgun's Barrel

Hello everyone and welcome to the only column on LoP that comes directly to you from Puerto Rico. My name is Carlos and I will try to entertain you today. that is if you let me. Actually today is a little awkward for me because as I write this I got to do some History homework and a geometry project as well, yes, writing and studying can be a real bitch sometimes.

Before I start I wanted to thank everyone who emailed me about my requests and overall feedback, mostly positive, plus a couple of those emails that pretty much say "U suk dik U dyrti paky ho!", yes, we really do get those type of emails, no lie. Also I believe I responded to most of your questions and comments, those of you who got left out then I am truly sorry, thank you all very much.

With that set lets hit our little promo music and start the show.

    Rating's slide?

A hot topic in the internet is the current ratings slide in wrestling, how can one not notice it, Raw is War used to get 6.0+ on USA Networks, then it moved to TNN and I believe it never really hit the 6. mark, and last Monday Raw hit 3.9, it lowest rating since 98, the day after Wrestle Mania 14, that's a long damn time.

A normal comment on the net is "its over, wrestling is dead, accept it", I have seen that quote many times and it brings me back to the time when Vince Russo and Ed Ferrera jumped ship to WCW, everyone predicted for WCW to get back on top, hell, I remember telling one of my friends that I expected WCW to beat the WWF in less than a year, boy was everyone wrong.

What does this mean? It means our opinions are just that, opinions, not fact, I can say WWF is dead over and over but it doesn't mean it will happen. Besides, look at the Nielsen top 10 rated programs, WWF is always one of the top 5, it means that even at its low rating of 3.9 it is still one of the highest rated programs on TV beating that crap at Mtv and the cartoons at nickelodeon, that's a fact.

I myself don't worry about the ratings slide, what's the worse it can happen? The WWF will try to get better and win some ratings again? Ohh, god forbid no! The WWF loses all its viewers and goes bankrupt? It still has one billion dollars, I don't worry too much about that one either. I have faith that the WWF will do something to restore its credibility when we least expect it, I wouldn't be surprised to join the net one day only to find all the wrestling sites flooded with current changes backstage, Wrestler A got released, Wrestler B was brought, Writer A was let go, Writer B was brought in for him. Vince McMahon wont let his product die, sure we are on the down period, the WWF is panicking and we the fans suffer, but if the WWF learned anything during their times as underdogs it was to have patience and do their best to become the best, its what they do.

Could Triple H be the savior of the WWF?

-While talking about the ratings slide I wondered if the return of Triple H would affect the ratings, I mean after all the Rock gave the ratings a nice big boost, but he was shooting a movie before it which got a lot of publicity by newspaper, magazines, TV shows, it was even hyped in Access Hollywood, so it is possible that people who had never watched wrestling tuned in to watch the Rock and see what he was all about. Triple H doesn't have that advantage, the WWF could simply promote the hell out of his comeback like they did with The Rock and they will have some higher ratings, but I got a better idea.

Anyone remember back at Judgment Day, Rock vs. Triple H in the iron man match for the WWF title, Shawn Michaels was the referee. Anyway this match also marks the return of the Undertaker after taking a leave of absence of like 6 months (something that never happened since the Undertaker was around for like 10 years). Anyway much hype was surrounded in this match that something huge was going to happen, a HHH/HBK reunion, something like that, then there were some lesser known Undertaker rumors that he would indeed come back but no one was sure of it, many thought he was still injured. Then it happened, the countdown ended and Undertaker came out to American Bad Ass by Kid Rock in a Harley, fans at home and at the arena went wild for it, this was something unexpected, this was the little extra gift that you got for ordering the PPV and back then the Undertaker didn't suck.

Long time has passed since then and Triple H is the one injured, wouldn't it be nice of something along those lines happened? I don't mean something like Triple H in a Harley, I mean Triple H coming down to the ring when no one expects him to, for him to make his presence felt and for the fans that missed it be pissed at themselves for not watching. This means fans will tune into the next show to see what happened and to see what he will do, this is exactly the opportunity the WWF needs to hook new viewers.

On the following Raw hype the Triple H return all night, make sure that he will say why he came back and why he attacked who and helped who, however during the show book something special so those old WWF fans that aren't watching anymore get a taste of what they are missing, I know the WWF can do it, they are just too lazy for it. However think about it, 1 hour and 50 minutes of hyping the Triple H return, new fans are hooked and watch the rest of the show in wait, somewhere along they will see something they like, the next week they watch to see the Triple H angle and check out that other angle that caught their eye. That's how the WWF hooked me back in the day, thanks to the Austin/McMahon angle.

What do you think about my idea?

    Song of the week

Since I am pretty much done I thought I would put some new sections to the column, just for fun, this is the song of the week, what kind of songs will I put her? Mostly metal and rock, this weeks winner is.

    Slayer - New Faith

However I must warn you, if you are religious or are insulted by heavy metal music then don't download it, if you know who slayer is and you want a sample of the God Hates Us All album then feel free to download it.

    Special Requests

Now I am surprised that this section worked so well, you guys rule, anyway I got some simple requests and questions I hope you can help me with.

-Two weeks ago I asked for anyone to point out who has more title reigns than booker T, now I forgot to mention is that Booker T has 27 title reigns in the WWF and WCW, my challenge if for someone to find a wrestler that has more title reigns than Booker T, the titles must be from WWF and WCW, I will even allow ECW reigns, don't bother answering if you don't find no one.

-Megadeth videos: 2 weeks ago I asked for Metallica videos, a bunch of fans told me to dl winmx and download it from there, or to us KaZaA, thanks to all of you but one beat you by far when he gave me a site with all the videos, thank you! Anyway what I ask is simple, a site that has Megadeth videos in smaller versions than MPG since my PC cant handle it, if you have an FTP site then please give it as well.

    BOW EFED: Treasure the pain

That is all for this edition for BTSB, this is Carlos saying.

    A Tout Le Monde
    A Tout Mes Ami
    Je Vous Aime
    Je Dois Partis

    Oh yeah, and also.

    Thank you very much.
