Just got back from the WWA show in Canberra, Australia, and I must say the
majority of people were extremely impressed. (But considering Canberra's
never had a wrestling show before, we haven't really had anything to compare
with!)

Commentators - Jerry 'The King' Lawler and Jeremy Borash


Match 1: Juventud Guererro Vs Psychosis
Juvi won after getting his arse kicked all match with a Juvi driver.
*Audience interaction #1 - My brother yelled out "You can do it"
Waterboy-style, and got a big grin and approving nod from Psychosis.*

Lawler brings two local girls out to show their 'puppies' only to have
Stevie Ray come out and tell him to stop it. Stevie Ray challenges Lawler to
a match later to decide whether the girls can show their puppies.

Match 2: Konnan Vs Gangrel w/Luna
Luna tried to do some weak attack on Konnan while Gangrel had him in a
reverse armlock and somehow got flipped. Gangrel got distracted and got
rolled up for the pin

Match 3: West Hollywood Blondes (Lenny and Lodi) Vs Danny Dominion and
Nathan Jones
I'll go with Josh Evans from Adelaide on this one - Nathan Jones is bloody
huge, and a great bloke to boot. Blondes come out with signs saying
"Australia Suck" and "Down Under Blows" Dominion got beat up for most of the
match and finally got the tag to Jones who vaulted the ropes and cleaned
house. Jones hit the chokeslam on Lenny for the win.
*Audience interaction #2 - During a quiet period we yelled out that Lenny
was an arseclown, to which he turned around and wiggled his butt at us for a
while*

Match 4: Disco Inferno Vs Buff Bagwell
Bit of confusion here as Disco came out doing his usual disco dancing and
crowd thought he was a face, until he got on the mike and ripped the crowd.
Buff came out and flexed on the turnbuckles for a bit. Match was back and
forth with some lucky bloke in the first row got up close photos of Disco,
Buff, and a nice shot down the front of Buff's trunks. Buff won after
delivering a facebuster followed by a double arm DDT.

*Intermission* We got our photos taken with Gangrel and Nathan Jones. Jones
is definitely what we Australians call a 'MeatAxe' The guy is massive!

Match 5: Hardcore Match Crowbar Vs Screaming Norman Smiley
Trashcan full of weapons placed beside the ring before the start of the
match, Crowbar out first, and much to everyone's puzzled amusement threw
himself around the ring like an idiot. Smiley wiggled his way down to the
ring wearing an Australian Wallabies (our World Champion Rugby Union Team)
Jersey. Smiley got smacked around quite a bit and his screaming had the
stadium in hysterics. Crowbar set up a table OUTSIDE the ring (much to our
disgust - we were on the other side), set Smiley up on it and vaulted over
the top rope to smash him through it. Smiley got the win after placing the
trash can over Crowbars head and beating him around with a steel chair.

Match 6: The King Jerry Lawler Vs Stevie Ray for the right to show puppies
Lawler leaves the commentary table and calls the two girls out again, Stevie
Ray comes out and manhandles Lawler for the majority of the match. Lawler
somehow manages to do a piledriver on Ray, who completely no-sells it.
(Didn't that used to be a finisher?) Stevie Ray beats up Lawler some more
until the two girls get up on the apron and distract Stevie Ray. Lawler gets
a cheap roll up from behind for the win.
*Audience interaction #3 - Stevie Ray told my brother to shut up after he
yelled out that Stevie's bitch-tits were bigger than the two girls'...*

*After the match - Lawler points to the two girls who then turn around and
walk up the ramp to the back. Audience nearly riots when they realise that
they aren't going to be seeing breasts tonight... :)*

Match 7: Main Event Road Dogg Vs Jeff Jarrett w/ Bret Hart as the special
enforcer
Jarrett comes out and rips the crowd, bitching about how he's the chosen
one. Nobody particularly cares. Road Dogg comes out to a huge pop and does
the DX arm cross thing in the turnbuckles. Gets on the mic and does the
whole 'suck it' routine. Collar and elbow tie up, Road Dogg gets the
advantage hits the Shake, Rattle and Roll followed by the crazylegs knee
drop. Jarrett tries to go back up the ramp, but comes back to insult the
crowd. Road Dogg throws him back in the ring where Jarrett knocks out the
ring and slams Road Dogg with a steel chair, covers for the pin but no-one
counts. Jarrett picks the ref up and covers again only for a 2 count.
Jarrett attacks the ref and kicks him out of the ring. While Bret Hart has a
go at Jarrett, Road Dogg hits the Anal-Rape Pumphandle Slam for the cover.
Hart gets in the ring and gives the 3 count.

All in all, a very good night. If the WWF ever decides to come to Australia,
their audience is going to be huge...
