Jericho shoots on Bischoff, Live No Mercy notes, Hawk injured
Submitted by Calvin Martin on Monday, October 22, 2001 at 1:43 PM EST

WCW.com has an article up on Chris Jericho where he shoots on Eric Bischoff. Here is a snippet from the article:

Only minutes had passed since Chris Jericho won the WCW Championship from The Rock on Sunday at No Mercy. He was asked for his reaction, and he didn’t have to think up a response.

First of all, I want to dedicate this victory to Eric Bischoff and shove it up his ass because he said I could never do it, said Y2J about the former WCW President.

1Wrestling.com is reporting that Road Warrior Hawk suffered a concussion and a hematoma of his left leg. Apparently, Hawk was supposed to make some appearances in Alaska over the weekend but could not be there due to the injuries which are thought to have occured in Chicago.

Thanks to Adam Wexler for sending this report in!

After the PPV ended Vince McMahon asked to cut Austin's music and held
Angle's arm up as Angle's music played. Then, when Angle left, Vince tried
to raise RVD's hand but RVD pulled it away, gave Vince the finger and did
the R-V-D fingerpoint and left to his music.

That was pretty much the end.

    Biggest Live Pops
    1. Rock
    2. Jericho (There was dueling chants all through the match for these two)
    3. RVD
    4. Hardyz (Probably because it was the first match)

I would give honorable mention to the Undertaker but everyone in my section
kept making fun of him and asking him to sell, so I figured he doesn't
    deserve the nod.

    Biggest Heat
    1. Austin
    2. Booker T
    3. Test
    4. Dudleyz

Thanks to Brandon Boyd for sending this report in!

I was in attendance last night at the No Mercy Pay Per View, and it was
solid enough. I know that most WWF television events have not been sold
out, but the Savvis Center was packed top to bottom. St. Louis has a great
wrestling history, and it was filled more than most St. Louis Blues games
are. Anyway, you have the results, I just wanted to chime in on the crowd
reaction each match. By the way, you will never see more mullets than a St.
Louis WWF event. Let's get started!

    Sunday Night Heat
    Kanyon/Hugh Morris vs. APA
Huge pop for the APA. The sad thing is everybody at the Savvis knew who
Kanyon was, but some people had no idea who Hugh Morris was, but then again,
why should they? Kanyon sold each move like a champion. Why he is not
getting a push is beyond me.

Billy Kidman vs. Scotty Too Boring
There were a surprisingly good amount of pops for Kidman. After the match,
the crowd pretty much ate up the worm. I have to admit, I got into it also,
which drew some major heat from my friends.

    NO MERCY
What a pop for the copyright warning shown before each pay per view. The
crowd went nuts! WWF beginning, No Mercy introduction, pyros, we're off!

Hardy Boyz w/Lita vs. Hurricane, Lance Storm w/Mighty Molly & Ivory
Am I the only person that is waiting for Storm to bust out with his,
"Calgary..........Alberta, Canada". Enough independent thoughts. Lita was
huge in the STL, but she's pretty much cool everywhere she goes. The crowd
LOVED Hurricane. What a character he is. Good opening match to get the
    crowd going.

Kane vs. Test...........yeah right, I went to the bathroom after I saw
Kane's pyro. After I got back, me and my friends tried to get a "Welcome
Home" chant going for Kane, but it didn't work. He's from Bowling Green,
Missouri, not too far away from St. Louis.

    Stacy vs. Torrie
What? Are you kidding me? We're talking Stacy and Torrie in lingerie! The
men were on the edge of their seats hoping for something to pop out.

    Edge vs. Christian (Ladder Match)
What a show these two put on. The crowd loved it. A couple of "Holy Shit"
chants broke out, and with good reason too. When the two were on the
ladders and fell off onto the floor, the crowd went nuts. It looks a lot
more painful in person than it does on television. Both guys were applauded
    after the match.

    Independent thought #2
Does anybody still care about Spike Dudley?

Dudley Boyz vs. Tajiri & Big Slow
The crowd wasn't into the match that much. Tajiri was over, but
surprisingly not as much as the Big Slow. What in the hell is this city
    thinking?

    Booker T vs. Undertaker
Loudest pop of the night so far went to the Undertaker. The crowd was
really into this match. Everybody wanted to see the Last Ride, and we
weren't disappointed. Booker got a great response from the Spinaroni also.

    Rock vs. Jericho
Match of the night, hands down. The crowd was all over this one. Jericho
came out to a huge pop, the Rock to an even better one. There were some
"Rocky sucks" chants, but not as many as I thought there would be. I
actually had some people in my section with a "Jericho sucks" chant. Mixed
crowd on this one. The crowd was confused when Stephanie came down, but we
were happy to see those jugs in person. We smelled a Jericho heel turn the
whole way, but we got nothing.

    Independent thought #3
It was nice to sit with knowledgeable wrestling fans that cheer a wrestler
because he's a face and not because of the country they are from (take notes
    Canada!).

Kurt Angle vs. RVD vs. Stone Cold
When "Medal" came on, the arena went nuts. Kurt Angle is the f---ing man!
RVD had a good reception too. When he did his shoulder thing, I did it also
and I looked around the arena. About 80% of the people did it as well. It
was quite a sight. Austin got some pops when he came out
because....well....come on! It's Stone Cold Steve Austin in person. Sure
he's a heel, but everybody loves him! Anyway, when he came down the ramp,
he stopped to give the fans some shit. That got him some heat. Match went
along rather well. As soon as Vinny Mac came down, the crowd was into him,
but again, we all smelled a swerve in favor of Stone Cold. When Shane O'Mac
came down, we were all over him. When Vinny attacked Shane, we went nutty.
After Stone Cold pinned RVD, we left to beat the traffic. Good time had by
    all!

    Top 5 heat
    1. Edge ripping on St. Louis
    2. Shane McMahon
    3. Stephanie McMahon
    4. Stone Cold Steve Austin
    5. Paul Heyman

    Top 5 pops
    1. Kurt Angel
    2. Undertaker
    3. The Rock
    4. Chris Jericho
    5. Kane (especially after beating the crap out of Nick Patrick)
