- Apparently, Helen Hart, the matriarch of the Hart family, considered by many to be wrestling's first family, has been hospitalized after sustaining a fall at her home. She has not regained consciousness since the fall and the cause of the fall remains unknown at this time. We at LoP wish to send out our prayers towards a safe and speedy recovery for Helen Hart. - Not sure if this has been reported yet or not but WWF Tough Enough 2 is scheduled to start airing in early 2002. - It is not expected that Hulk Hogan will be working for Jimmy Hart's XWF promotion for two reasons. First of all, Hogan is strongly considering a "farewell" stint in the WWF and second of all, complications from a lawsuit between Hogan and AOL Time Warner over his departure from the company may restrict him from working elsewhere for now. - Triple H and Chris Benoit have been helping with the creative aspect of the WWF's television shows whenever they are backstage at the events. We at LoP would like to extend our sympathies to Mr. Vanegas' family and friends. Credit: Slam! Wrestling STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS By Diamond Dallas Page Updated 9/28/01 Yo, Cutters. It's been a long time since we have talked and a lot has happened. A lot of tragic stories from what happened on September 11th. I was one of the lucky ones. My brother-in-law, Paul, was in building #2 on floor #44 when the first plane hit. The ladies in his office were wondering where all the "confetti" was coming from. You see, after the explosion, ash and soot fell outside their windows. Once they realized what had happened, Paul told them that they needed to get out of there. Over the PA system in the building, they were telling people that their building wasn't hit and they should stay in their offices. Paul grabbed the ladies in his section who were in shock, grabbed them by their hands and told them they were all getting out of there. They took the stairs down to the 30th floor where they had to cross over to another stairwell. That's when the second plane rocked their building. That one hit around the 50th floor. Thank God Paul and his co-workers were already on their way down. When they got to the bottom, they just kept walking at a quick pace. Fifteen blocks later they heard the rumbling and turned to see the building collapse. I understand why the Port Authority was telling them to stay in their offices, mainly because they didn't want 10,000 people on the ground looking up at building #1. At that time they had no way of knowing the other building was targeted. You can read the rest of the message at http://www.ddpbang.com/news/weeksemail.html Positively Yours... Not only to do you get all of the matches but you get that whole Alliance Women match from the Heat just prior to the pay-per-view, two interviews (one with Undertaker/Kane, one with Booker T/Shane McMahon.) Also, The entire end segment for Austin appreciation night from the following night on Raw is there with the horrible Steph singing and the milk bath provided by Kurt Angle and then Raw goes off the air. But right as it does, it kicks back up with WWF Exclusive footage of what happened after the cameras went off. Pretty much Angle drinks more milk, sprays down the Alliance again with the milk hose, drinks more milk and leaves to the cheers of the crowd. Vin Gopps from RawFeedOnline.com sent in the following: By Lodi Exclusive Column by Lodi @ RawFeedOnline.com For wrestling fans, is there a choice left in what kind of wrestling you watch? Or does the Vince McMahon owned WWF/ WCW/ ECW super-federation leave fans no viable alternative? This question has been debated to death on the internet and by the water cooler already. What was once dreamed of by your average fan as an all-star clash just a few years ago became an all-star fizzle and has turned into a bit of a let down. Without WCW superstars like Goldberg, Sting, Ric Flair, Kevin Nash, and Scott Steiner, how could the WWF fans take the already watered down WCW seriously? To skip past the Invasion PPV and angle, with the WWFE owning and controlling the vast majority by far of wrestling that appears on television, do fans actually have a choice anymore in what they watch? Obviously the answer is no, since as of now there is no nationwide alternative. So now the scramble begins to become the number two promotion and only time will tell who that will be, although there are several that believe they have what it takes. Yet recently few upstart and widely publicized promotions have quickly folded. I am partial to one that I truly believe has the potential to make it. Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling is a company that is owned and operated by Dusty Rhodes. I doubt there is anyone outside of Vince McMahon that has seen, been involved in, or developed more in wrestling than Dusty. Wrestling is his passion and his life, and he runs his company with the same type of zeal that brought him fame in the squared circle. While his company has been around a little less than two years, his talent roster and show quality are beyond reproach. His "crawl before you walk" philosophy to business will assure that he does not over extend himself or the company, and it will continue to grow in due time. Dusty's return to old school wrestling has been entertaining the fans of TCW throughout the Southeast this year. It is a family oriented product that many feel much of televised wrestling has gotten away from. The fan friendly atmosphere at the TCW shows is most evident at the close of the show, when the majority of the wrestlers come out of the locker room to sign autographs. The stars of TCW include such names as Dustin Rhodes, Barry Windham, Scotty Riggs, Glacier, CW Anderson, Larry Zbysko, Steve Corino, and Daffney. The TCW roster also boasts an impressive line-up of other young stars and rookies that were trained by Dream himself. A new website, www.turnbuckle.tv is a great place to go to catch up on all the latest TCW news. It also has clips from several TCW matches for your viewing pleasure. TCW has also just released a video of the best matches from the past year. The TCW Arena Action vol. 1 contains a plethora of stars, such as Kanyon, New Jack, Tommy Dreamer, Riggs, Windham, Glacier, Jorge Estrada, Daffney, CW Anderson, Dusty Rhodes and myself. It can be ordered through the TCW office at 770-794-1145. No one at TCW is claiming we can beat the WWF at it's own game next week. Personally, I love the WWF product and believe for entertainment value it is outstanding. But if you are looking for something different, TCW is "the alternative." If you enjoy wrestling, check it out. I promise you will not be dissappointed.
