IPW Hardcore Wrestling Recap- September 14th, 2001

Hosts: Aaron Royal and "Hardcore Giant" Ron Niemi
Airs: Every Friday Night at 2 am on UPN 44 in Tampa,Florida
    Location: Florida WrestlePlex
matches: taken from IPW's 'Paybacks Are hell!', August 25, 2001

Report by Shannon Rose of http://prowrestlingdaily.com

The killer IPW Graphic Intros kicked off the show ...

***Aaron Royal started the show by going over the lineup for the evening and showing off his T shirt that said 'Pee Wee Sucks' in honor/defiance of Ron Niemi***

IPW Street Fight: Devin vs. 'Storm Trooper' David Black

This match took place all over the Plex with Devin taking it to Trooper. We even heard yet another Johnathan Holiday mention from Niemi. Devin dropped Trooper on his head with the powerbomb. The match was declared a no-contest by referee 'Straightcall' Star Stevens when Pat Mcgroin and Pat Powers layed out both competitors.

Title Unification Match: 'Miami Pound Machine' Rod Steel
(IPW Light Heavyweight champion) vs. Jet Jaguar (NWA Florida Junior
    Heavyweight champion)

This hard fought match ended when Jaguar hit his frogsplash (called
Yahtzee) and was about to go for the pin when NWA World Light
Heavyweight champion Lex Lovett came down to help Steel but after a
series of double team moves turned on Steel, hitting him with a chair.
Your winner was Jaguar by DQ.

IPW TV Champion 'Fashion Police' Pat McGroin vs. 'Marvelous'
    Mike Sullivan (challenger)

Pat McGroin (champion, w/ Pat Powers) defeated 'Marvelous' Mike Sullivan (w/ XTC and 'Hardcore Giant' Ron Niemi) after The Cuban Assassin snuck into the ring and blasted Sullivan with the Cuban Flag, driving the pole into his skull. Afterwards, Rastaman made his return to IPW and ran Cuban away from ringside. Rastaman then proceded to shake the hand of Sullivan to the cheers of the fans.

***Aaron Royal wrapped up the show***

Commercials: IPW returning to the WrestlePlex for 'Blood Sweat and
    Cheers', Best Insurance

Notes: The show keeps getting better and better. Niemi and Royal are

Christian Wrestling Federation TV Recap- September 13th, 2001

Hosts: Shannon Rose and Aaron Royal
Airs: Every Wednesday at 5:30-6:00 pm on Time Warner Channel 44 in
Hillsborough County Tampa, Florida and Time Warner Channel 47 in
    Pinellas County St. Petersburg, Florida.
Location: Ron Forbes Rec Center in Pinellas County,Florida

    Shane Brothers vs. Curtain Jerkers

The first match saw the Shane Twins (w/ "Hardcore Giant" Ron Niemi )
defeat the Curtain Jerkers ("Ravishing" Rod Steel and "Super Fan" Mark
Zout dressed as Kurt Angle) by pinfall. This match took place a few
months back when the Jerkers were getting along. After a hot tag was
made from Zout to Steel, everything seemed to be favoring the Curtain
Jerkers. But the Shane Twins showed why they were the experienced team
in the match, reversing a double Irish whip and executing simultaneous
TKO's on both members of the Curtain Jerkers to pick up the victory.

    Seijin Akki vs. L'Artiste

The second match of the evening featured a cruiserweight collision by
two international superstars. Canada's L'Artiste (has wrestled
everywhere from WCW to Japan) defeated Japan's own Seijin Akki in what
proved to be a tremendous battle by both men. The opening minutes of the match went back and forth, until L'Artiste decided to leave. He would come back to ringside, only for Seijin to hit a spinning somersault over the top rope onto the Canadian painter. Seijin's high risk maneuvers would cost him however, as he missed a 450 splash when L'Artiste moved out of the way. L'Artiste would take advantage of the rookie's mistake, executing his devastating "Mona Lisa" for the win. After the match Seijin would get his revenge, connecting with his Kawasaki Crunch much to the delight of the fans in attendance.

***Fidel Sierra did a promo in spanish about not doing backyard
    wrestling***

Stickman vs. "Storm Trooper" David Black

Stickman (With Perfect 10 member Snowman) and Stromtrooper, cheating
would prove to be too much for the Stormtrooper. After Stormtrooper was sent flying to the outside, Stickman distracted the referee while
Snowman went away on Stormtrooper with Stickman's Singapore cane.
Stormtrooper looked like he had a chance once he regained the advantage a second time, but once again Snowman interfered, causing the referee to be distracted while Stickman nailed his patented side Russian leg sweep with the Singapore cane for the win

***United States Champion, Havoc, did a promo on not getting involved
    with backyard wrestling***

    Snack Pack vs. QuickieMart

This top contenders match for the CWF Tag Team Title, as the Snack Pack (Kubiak and Von Tankard) defeated the Qucikiemart (Agent Steel and Yaz). The match up started out with Tankard and Steel wrestling back and forth, but double teaming proved to give the Quickiemart the advantage, as Steel and Yaz double teamed Tankard. As soon as Kubiak made the tag, the trend would continue, as the Quickiemart hit a double shoulder block, a double suplex, and made quick tags in and out. Kubiak would battle back, hitting a skull slam. That would not last for long, as he missed the Kubi-Bomb on Yaz, Steel and Yaz would double team him, until Tankard hit a school boy for the win. The angry Quickiemart warriors would get their way, nailing the 24-7 after the match, as they exited the arena to a chorus of boo's.

***Devin Nash wrapped up the show about how to turn to Jesus Christ in
    times of trouble***

    CORINO'S OPPONENT SET FOR BOTB 2001;
"HARDENING OF SECURITY" FORCES VENUE CHANGE

TAMPA - The speculation is over. NWA Officials announced this morning that NWA World Heavyweight Champion "King of Old School" Steve Corino will defend the title on October 13th at the NWA 53rd Anniversary "Battle of the Belts 2001" event against former International Wrestling Grand Prix Heavyweight Champion and current Japanese superstar Shin'ya Hashimoto from Zero-One.

The announcement came after several weeks of negotiations between the two organizations when Zero-One's Mr. Yoshiyuki Nakamura and the NWA's representative in Tokyo, Mr. Max Seki, reached an agreement early Wednesday evening, Japan Standard Time.

The one fall, sixty-minute Main Event, will headline a 16-match card featuring NWA competitors from across the U.S., Canada and the United Kingdom.

"We are pleased to be able to bring someone of Hashimoto's stature and reputation to the show," said NWA President Howard T. Brody of the announcement. "This will surely be Steve's biggest test to date, not only in terms of defending the title, but in terms of making an international impact."

Being woken with the news first thing this morning, Corino said he is "looking forward to the challenge" and "guarantees" a surprise for Hashimoto.

"Hashimoto may have the reputation for having the hardest kicks in the wrestling industry," Corino said, "but what he doesn't realize is that I've been hit with every foreign object, have taken every move, and taken every fall there is in this business.... and you can't keep me down."

When asked about the size difference between himself and Hashimoto, Corino said he is on an "intense training program" which includes gaining weight, shoot-style wrestling and the obligatory gym work. "He may walk into the match thinking I'm a junior heavyweight," Corino said, "but when he walks out of it, he's gonna know that he just fought the World Heavyweight Champion."

On the heels of the release and in wake of recent events in New York City and Washington, D.C., Brody also announced that due to a "hardening of security" going into effect at the Fort Homer W. Hesterly Armory, there will be a change of venues in Tampa for the October 13th event and that an official statement will be forthcoming.

    False Release Issued

It has been brought to my attention that you may have recently received a press release believed to have been generated by my office concerning an upcoming match in Tennessee between Steve Corino and Jerry Lawler.

This "press release" appears to have had an official statement not only from myself but on behalf of the National Wrestling Alliance regarding this match.

At no time has anyone from my office issued such a release or made such a statement.

Apparently, the promoter behind this has taken it upon himself to falsify documents and issue quotes, making it somehow look like our organization has a vested interest in this particular event.

The promoter in question, a former NWA member nonetheless, has obviously perpetrated a fraud upon many of you who have printed this release as fact, unknowingly causing each of your reputations and credibility to be questioned by those who visit your site each day.

I am hoping that this letter not only corrects this misinformation in a timely manner, but encourages each of you to verify the information you receive in the future.

For the record, this matter has been turned over to the NWA's corporate counselor, Robert K. Trobich, who is exploring our organization's legal options against this promoter for not only falsifying documents, but by attributing liable remarks to unknowing victims.

We are also encouraging the talent in question to distance themselves from this promoter, as his ethics appear to be questionable at best.

As always, thank you for your time and continued support of the National Wrestling Alliance.

    Sincerely,
    Howard T. Brody
    President
