Submitted by William Martinez on Sunday, September 16, 2001 at 8:05 PM EST

    - Linda McMahon recently made a radio appearance on KSPN 1110 in Southern California. Here are a few newsworthy notes from the appearance:

    > For the decision to air Smackdown, WWF officials not only went to Houston officials but fans as well and they all agreed that the show should go on.

    > The WWF was a little surprised that the arena was so full, despite the event being a sell out.

    > A waitress at WWF New York also worked as an intern at the World Trade Center and, as of Friday, she hadn't been heard from yet.

    > The WWF is sending 180,000 pounds of clothing to New York for rescue workers and others who may need them.

    > The opening of Smackdown was only shown to WWF employees in Stamford, Connecticut on Friday due to the fact that news coverage pre-empted the show in the area. They all said the pledge of alliegance following the viewing.

    - The reason Smackdown was not shown last night's during Excess' timeslot was because UPN did not want TNN to air the show.

The item up for auction is the ORIGINAL "Packing Heat" artwork by Deacon Black. This piece was actually commissioned by Teri Byrne's publicist, as the original template to present to Gypsy Press for the STILETTO comic character. The live edition of Smackdown that was pre-empted by news coverage on Thursday in Boston was shown in it's entirety last night (Saturday) from 11 pm to 1 am on UPN 38.

I just called KMSP channel 9 in Minnesota and they said that they are not planning to re-air Smackdown. That's all the info that I got because I'm guessing they are swamped because of the Terrorist attacks.
