Prior to the opening match, we got a video on WWE's influence on pop culture. In the video, John McCain got booed while Barack Obama got cheered.
Dark Match The Brian Kendrick w/Ezekiel Jackson vs. Kung Fu Naki Quick match with Kendrick taking the win following a roll up.
Winner: The Brian Kendrick
Post match, Kendrick went to attack, but received a crane kick for his troubles before Ezekiel jumped in laying out Kung Fu Naki.
The announcers and Lillian Garcia were introduced. Lillian sang her rendition of the national anthem, but there was actually music with this one instead of her singing acappella. Following, Lillian said that it was doubtful Jeff Hardy would compete according to TMZ.com and ABCNews.com.
The crowd was pretty hot throughout the night. Not sure if this got caught on PPV, but there were chants of "You can't wrestle" directed towards JBL, Vladimir Kozlov, and minorly to Cena.
Throughout the Kozlov/Triple H exchange, there were lots of "Boring" chants as well as "We want Hardy" chants. Edge being inserted into the match and winning the WWE championship was a nice swerve.
All in all, the show came off pretty well.
-- At the conclusion of last night's Survivor Series pay-per-view, Jerry Lawler said on commentary that it was the first time in history that the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships had changed hands on the same Survivor Series show. Both belts actually changed hands at the 2002 Survivor Series at MSG with Shawn Michaels and Big Show winning their respective title matches.
