    WWE Monday Night Raw 11/10/08
    from Manchester, United Kingdom

We start off last night with a look back at the 800th (or so) episode of Raw when John Cena saw that Chris Jericho is his opponent for Survivor Series.

We are live on tape from Manchester, United Kingdom and your announcers are Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler.

The former champion Batista comes to the ring and he has something to say. Batista says that he is not here to whine and cry about last week. He is here to invoke his rematch clause. He came here tonight to win back his championship.

Stephanie McMahon appears on the TitanTron in Stamford. She says that Batista cannot invoke his rematch clause for tonight. She says that she knows that Batista is disappointed. Her Brother Shane made it clear last week that the winner of the steel cage match will face John Cena at Survivor Series. Batista will get a future title match but it cannot happen before Survivor Series. Stephanie says that we are approaching the dawn of a new era on Raw. They need to take a break from the past. It is time to stop some of the longest running issues on Raw. Kane will face Rey Mysterio in a No Disqualification Match for the last time. Tonight, Chris Jericho will face Shawn Michaels for the final time. That match will be a Last Man Standing Match. Stephanie thanks everyone for their time, and Stephanie thanks Dave for being so understanding.

Randy Orton's music plays and he comes to the ring. Randy tells Batista that when it comes to a world title shot, Batista will have to wait in line. John Cena gets his opportunity at Survivor Series, then it is his turn because he is better than Batista. Four years ago in Evolution, he was kicked out of the group because he was the most successful member. Orton says that Batista could not beat him then, and cannot beat him now. If anyone deserves the title match after John Cena, it is him, not Batista.

Batista chuckles and tells Randy that history is written by winners. If you look at their history, he has been better than Randy in any way, shape, or form. He was better when they were in Evolution and he is better now. Batista says that tonight is about settling old scores to move on. Batista suggests that they meet in the ring so they can get this thing behind them. Orton wants to make sure that he heard Batista and he accepts the match. Orton tells Dave when he wins the title, he will hold the title longer than eight days. Batista tosses his mic at Orton and tries to get Orton in a Batista Bomb but Orton gets out of the ring. We go to commercial.

We are back with the Slam of the Week: William Regal gets the number one contender spot for the Intercontinental Title.

Santino Marella comes to the ring and he is with Beth Phoenix. Santino has the mic and he says that he is so confident that he is going to remain the Intercontinental Champion that he got rid of the Honk-A-Meter. He has the Honk-A-Perfect-Mountie-Meter. Their combined title reigns were approximately 123 weeks. Santino weighs in tonight at 13 weeks. According to his calculations, that is just 2 years and 4 months and he will break that record too. After tonight, he will be one step closer to being the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all the times. He says that the Jonas Brothers looking William Regal won't beat him. Santino says that he is from the best country in Europe.

We are back and it is time for a Kane interview. He has hooks behind him. He welcomes Shane and Stephanie back to Raw. He says that there is something about Shane that brings out his inner child when he used to do bad things to animals. He is free to do anything to Rey that he wants and everyone is going to like it. Kane says that he never liked being liked. Not by his brother, the McMahons or anyone in the building. Tonight they will like him less and that means that he will like himself even more.

Beth Phoenix is in the back and she finds her cuddle bear. She asks him if he is going to be okay. Santino says that he never should have defended his title against the likes of William Regal. Santino says that he called Shane McMahon and he says that he thinks Shane is taking it out on Beth. Santino says that Beth has to wrestle Mickie James for the Women's Title. Beth says that she cannot believe that Santino did that to him and she takes his phone and she throws it against the wall and it breaks. Beth walks away and we go to commercial.

We are back with the WWE Rewind: Chris Jericho winning the World Title back inside a steel cage.

It is time for the latest feature in John Cena...Superman Returns.

Chris Jericho comes out and he says that it was such a heartwarming tale. Chris has another story for Cena. That is the Batista Story. The man who injured Cena was defeated last week so Chris Jericho could become a world champion for the fifth time. Jericho says that we can talk about the Shawn Michaels Story. Chris says that he has the conviction and courage to point out that Shawn and his fans are hypocrites. Jericho says that he put Shawn's head through a television monitor and then he punches his wife accidentally. Shawn might make light of it now. Chris points out that he beat Shawn in his type of match. Jericho tells Cena to watch closely because the same thing is going to happen to him.
