    Friday Night Smackdown!
    Fridays 8/7 ET
    Columbus, Ohio

SmackDown! video package rolls and fireworks go off as we are introduced to another edition of Friday Night SmackDown!

We are taken backstage in GM Vicki Guerrero’s office where she is with Chavo. She asks him what happened last week and basically says that Undertaker has sent a message…He is coming for Vickie tonight. Jeff Hardy intervenes and he asks for Vladimir Koslov. Vickie informs him that he already has a match scheduled for tonight.

Triple H’s music hits and the entire place goes crazy. We are told this is a tag team match scheduled for one fall. The Game’s partner is Jeff Hardy. There opponents are MVP and The Brian Kendrick.

Match 1: Triple H & Jeff Hardy v. MVP & The Brian Kendrick
MVP and Jeff start things off. They lockup and Jeff Hardy gets in a wristlock and immediately tags in Triple H. The Game works on MVP’s arm and he makes the quick tag back to Jeff. Jeff goes up top and crashed onto MVP’s arm. Jeff hits a snapmare and goes for the pin, but gets a 1 count. Jeff continues to work on MVP’s arm until MVP knee’s Jeff in the guts and tags in Brian Kendrick. As Kendrick approaches to attack Jeff, Jeff punches him and eventually hits a hip toss. Jeff then tries to hit his signature double dropkick in the corner, but Kendrick leaves the ring and Jeff follows in pursuit. Ezekiel stands in Jeff’s way and Kendrick re-enters the ring. As Jeff gets back in the ring, Kendrick kicks him and Jeff is suddenly in trouble. Kendrick rams Jeff’s head in the turnbuckle and boasts. He then tags in MVP and they try a double team maneuver, but Jeff manages to dodge it and take them both down. Jeff tags in Triple H and the Game clotheslines MVP over the ropes. Kendrick tries to a sneak attack, but the face team sends him over the ropes as well.

Back, we see MVP punching Triple H in his corner. MVP tags in Kendrick and he strikes Triple H with a few punches, kicks, and eventually a dropkick. Kendrick then locks in a seated abdominal stretch, but the crowd gets behind the Game and he breaks the hold and sends Kendrick to the mat. Crowd begins to clap and Triple H tags in Jeff. Jeff enters the ring and takes Kendrick down with a face-buster. Jeff then hits the Twist of Fate and takes MVP down. Jeff then goes up top, but Ezekiel tripped Jeff as the referee attended to MVP. Kendrick covers Jeff, but gets a 2 count. MVP is tagged in and he works on Jeff’s back. MVP tags in Kendrick and Kendrick jumps onto the sternum of Jeff. “Let’s go Hardy!” chants emerge. Kendrick then drills Jeff with a running low dropkick. Kendrick then applies the Steiner Recliner and tags in MVP. MVP enters and applies a shoulder lock. Crowd gets even louder and Jeff tries to make it back up, but MVP knocks Triple H off the apron. MVP tags in Kendrick and Kendrick strikes Jeff with another dropkick to the head. Kendrick then Irish Whip’s Jeff, but Jeff climb’s the ropes and connects with the Whisper in the Wind. Both men down, as the referee’s 10 kick count begins. They each tag in their respective partners and Triple H takes MVP down with a knee to the face and a power clothesline. Triple H gets a near fall. Triple H shoves MVP to the ropes and connects with the Double “A” Spinebuster. Kendrick enters the ring and charges at Triple H, but he too receives a Spinebuster. Triple H then attempts a Pedigree, but Kendrick makes the save by kicking the Game in the head. Jeff then enters and he clothesline Kendrick and himself over the ropes. MVP looks to hit his signature kick to the head, but Triple H dodges it and hits the Pedigree! This match is over.

Post-Match: As Triple H celebrates in the ring, Jeff enters and has possession of the WWE Championship Title. He looks at it and eventually hands it to Triple H. Jeff raises Triple H’s hand and the two shake hands. They then pose for the crowd.

(Match Rating: 4/5. What a match! This was an awesome tag match with the crowd heavily into it. Definitely this ranks among the top of tag team matches we have seen this year.)

JR informs us that later on tonight Vladimir Koslov will be in action against The Great Khali. We are shown a video highlighting Khali’s dominant performance in the WWE.

    -Commercial-

Back, JR and Tazz thank the CW Network for allowing them to air SmackDown! for the last 9 years.

WWE 24/7 Classics on Demand: March 23rd 1992 – Sid Justice & Ric Flair v. Roddy Piper & Hulk Hogan.

Shelton Benjamin’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring in street clothes.

Benjamin says that he stands here tonight as US Champion and SmackDowns! Gold Standard. He goes onto say that he has set a new standard for everyone in the WWE and his in ring abilities prove it. He then says that there is a particular superstar however on the current roster that lives by no standard at all…R-Truth. He says that Truth has no business in the WWE and he is an absolute joke. But what really makes him angry is that the people continue to respond to Truth’s “Wazzup!” chants.

Truth’s music hits and he raps his way through the crowd and eventually into the ring.

Truth and Benjamin get face to face and Truth let’s out a “Wazzup.” Crowd laughs and Benjamin drops the microphone and leaves the ring. Crowd boo’s Benjamin as Truth raps some more.

Tazz then informs everyone as apart of SmackDowns! All-Star Kickoff next week, Shelton Benjamin will take on Santino Marella in a Champion vs. Champion Match.

Brie Bella and Maria are shown backstage about to make their way down to the ring.

    -Commercial-

Maria’s music hits and she and Brie make their way down to the ring together.

Victoria and Natalya then make their way down to the ring together.

Match 2: Maria & Brie Bella v. Natalya & Victoria
Maria and Victoria start things off with Victoria getting the advantage with a full nelson hold. Victoria then tries a snapmare, but Maria reverses it into a roll-up, but only gets a 2 count. Maria then knee’s Victoria in the gut and tags in Brie, who enters the ring by connecting with a rolling sunset flip for a 2 count. Brie hits a running snapmare on Victoria and then attempts a headlock. Victoria however, lifts Brie up and rams her into the corner and proceeds to tag in Natalya. Natalya immediately slams Brie into the mat and slaps her a few times. The referee separates them, but Brie gets right back up and slaps Natalya in the face. Natalya is furious and beats Brie down with a snap suplex and numerous punches. Brie tries fighting back, but Natalya body slams her back down. Nasty spot occurs when Natalya throws Brie over the ropes by the legs. Brie then crawls under the ring and at the same time, another identical looking female crawls from beneath the ring. It’s her apparent twin. The referee doesn’t realize it and the match continues. The twin punches Victoria and eventually brings her into the ring and hits an X-Factor. The twin covers, but gets a 2 count. Maria is then tagged in and she hits a flying crossbody for the win.

Post-Match: The Heel team heads up the ramp in shock as Maria and the twin celebrate in the ring.

(Match Rating: 2.5/5. A typical divas tag team match. Now that the world has seen the twins, all I have to ask is how much longer will this angle continue?)

A Vladimir Koslov promo is shown.

    -Commercial-

JR and Tazz discuss the historical 800th edition of Monday Night RAW that occurred earlier in the week.

Vladimir Koslov’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring.

The Great Khali then makes his way down to the ring accompanied by Ranjin Singh.

Match 3: Vladimir Koslov v. The Great Khali
The two stare at each other and soon Koslov tries to take Khali down from the hips, but Khali elbows Koslov off of him. Koslov then tries to take Khali down from the leg, but Khali slaps Koslov across the back. Khali tries the two handed choke bomb, but Koslov breaks out of by striking Khali with kicks, punches, and headbutts. Koslov then backs off and charges at Khali, but Khali hits the brain chop and big boots Koslov right out of the ring. Surprisingly, “Khali” chants break out. Khali tries to bring Koslov back into the ring, but Koslov pulls Khali out by the legs. Khali headbutts the Moscow Mauler and charges at him with a clothesline, but Koslov moves out of the way and Khali hits the steel post. Koslov rolls back into the ring when all of a sudden Triple H’s music hits.

Triple H slowly makes his way down to the ring and when he does, Koslov exits the ring. The Great Khali gets in the ring and Triple H goes to attack him. Koslov then enters the ring and he gets punched down. Triple H turns around and is brain chopped in the head by Khali and is then immediately kicked in the chest by Koslov. Khali and Koslov then stump a mudhole in Triple H until Jeff Hardy enters the ring and hits Koslov. Unfortunately, as Jeff turns around, Khali chops him down. Triple H falls out of the ring and the heel duos punish Jeff. Triple H takes out a sledgehammer from under the ring much to the crowds delight. He gets in the ring and Koslov exits. Khali wants to negotiate, but gets hit in the guts twice and falls out of the ring. Triple H then begs Koslov to get in the ring, but Koslov nods no and backs up the ramp. Triple H gives him the crotch chop as we go to break.

(Match/Segment Rating: 3.5/5. Strangely enough, this was pretty good. The match itself wasn’t bad either. It was also funny to hear the crowd chant for Khali.)

    -Commercial-

We see the Ohio State Buckeyes in attendance.

Tazz and JR go over the No Mercy Card.

Backstage, Vickie, Chavo, and the Big Show are shown backstage in Vickie’s office. Chavo says that no disrespect to Big Show, but he has funny feeling that tonight the Undertaker will get Vickie. Big Show stops him and reminds him that he is a Guerrero. Big Show then shows Chavo the footage from Unforgiven where he punched out the Dead Man. Back in the office, Big Show promises that if Undertaker should try to get Vickie, he will take the Undertaker out of action. Vickie then says that speaking of action, Chavo has a match up next. Chavo questions her, but Show tells him to man up.

    -Commercial-

Chavo Guerrero music plays and he comes out alone somewhat hesitant.

His opponent is none other than Jimmy Wang Yang.

Match 4: Chavo Guerrero v. Jimmy Wang Yang
The two lockup and Yang backs Chavo to the ropes and then dropkicks him out of the ring. Chavo looks more distracted with the Undertaker than the match and pays for it as Yang then leaps over the ropes and crashes onto him. Yang throws Chavo back in the ring and goes up top. As he jumps off the ropes, Chavo dropkicks him in the guts in mid-air. Chavo then uppercuts Yang and proceeds the damage with a bodyslam. Chavo continues the pressure as he applies an armlock. As Yang gets out of the hold, he manages to hit a high roundhouse kick to the head of Chavo, but can’t hold onto any form of consistent offense as Chavo eventually splits Yang on the top ropes and connects with a rolling liger kick for the win.

Post-Match: Chavo celebrates and all of the sudden, the lights go out! But then it comes back on. Chavo panics and decides to leave the ring.

(Match Rating: 3/5. This match had a fair share of reversals and a nice sequence to the finish, but its no fun when you know Yang has absolutely no chance to win ever since his suspension earlier on in the year.)

Back, Justin Roberts informs us that our next bout is for the WWE Tag Team Championships!

Carlito and Primo make their way down to the ring first and they are soon afterwards followed by the champs.

Main Event: Carlito & Primo v. Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins (WWE Tag Team Championships)
Primo and Curt Hawkins start things off. The two lockup and Primo gets the advantage as he gets a quick armdrag which is then followed by a nice flying headscissors. Carlito is tagged in and he dropkicks Hawkins down. Carlito hits a bodyslam and then tags in Primo. The two brothers use double team maneuvers, but get a 2 count. Hawkins finally looks like he is about to build momentum, but he is soon tripped and headbutted by a blind-tagged Carlito. After a 2 count, Carlito works on Hawkins in the corner, but is distracted by Ryder. This allows Hawkins to drive Carlito’s shoulder to the steel post. Ryder is now tagged in and he and Hawkins illegally punish Carlito behind the referees back. Ryder applies an arm lock, but eventually Carlito elbows Ryder in the face. Unfortunately for Carlito, he is immediately kicked in the chest and sent back down to the mat. Hawkins is then tagged in and he kicks Carlito numerous times. Hawkins cover, but gets a 2 count. Hawkins then focuses on the arm of Carlito. “Carlito” chants begin and he begins to build momentum, but is stopped as the Hawkins drives Carlito into their respective corner. Ryder tagged in and he chokes Carlito on the ropes. Minutes later, Hawkins comes in and throws Carlito out of the ring as we go to break.

    -Commercial-

Back, we see Carlito struggling to fight out of a reverse chinlock from Hawkins. The champs continue to tag in and out and are in control until Carlito sends them crashing into each other. This allows Carlito to finally tag in Primo and he comes in and brings a lot of energy as he hits a reverse flying elbow on Ryder while showing off his athleticism. Primo then sets up Ryder in the corner and hits a judo flip similar to the one from RVD. Primo then leaps onto the top ropes and connects with a brutal missile dropkick. Primo covers but Hawkins breaks up the pin. Carlito comes in and takes him out of the ring and goes back to the corner. Primo gets up, but Ryder applies a headlock, so Primo makes a tag to Carlito which Ryder doesn’t recognize. Ryder throws Primo down and Carlito comes up from behind and hits a botched BackStabber for the win. We have NEW Tag Team Champs!

Post-Match: Carlito and Primo celebrate up the ramp with their newly won titles.

(Match Rating: 3.5/5. The team of Carlito and Primo was an excellent idea from the writers. Primo is excellent while Carlito looks stronger every time he gets in the ring. The heel team didn’t look too weak either. I think we are in for a long-term feud between these two young teams)

We see a My Moving Co. Van backing into the arena. Jesse and Festus come out and head towards the ring where Hawkins and Ryder are knocked out.

Backstage, Chavo Guerrero is in Vickie’s office with the GM and Show. Chavo says that Undertaker sent another message after he won his match. He looks very concerned and Show tells him that they will smoke him out. Show and Vickie say they are headed out to the ring. Chavo is hesitant at first, but rolls along as he realizes that he doesn’t want to be all alone.

    -Commercial-

We are shown a clip that during the break, Jesse and Festus loaded ring equipment into the My Moving Co. Van. Inside the van we saw Kenny Dykstra and Ryan Braddock locked inside from the previous weeks.

JR and Tazz discuss the matters surrounding the GM, Big Show, and the Undertaker when suddenly, The Big Show’s music hits. He, Vickie, and Chavo, who is scared, all come down to the ring.

Vickie asks for everyone’s undivided attention and asks where the Undertaker is. She laughs and says that she should have never reinstated him in the first place.

They play the footage from Unforgiven again.

Chavo says this is not a good idea.

The Big Show then speaks on the microphone saying that Undertaker will not be here tonight because he is second guessing himself as his spirit and jaw is broken.

    Gong!

    Lights go out….

    Gong!

Lights back on and Vickie and Big Show are standing in the ring. Chavo is gone.

On the titantron, we see Undertaker choking Chavo out in Vickie Guerrero’s office.

Vickie sends the Big Show to go help him.

Undertaker continues to destroy Chavo and Vickie’s office.

The TV Set begins to “mess up”…and…

Tazz wants to go and interview Vickie on what she thinks is happening to Chavo but…

    Gong…Lights Out!

    Gong…Back On!

Undertaker appears standing right behind Vickie. She turns around is scared to death.

Undertaker tells her to rest in peace and eventually hits the Tombstone Piledriver on her to much of the crowds delight.

Undertaker poses over the fallen GM as we roll off the air…
