The Show opened up with a backstage segment with Mobile Homers, who are practical jokers/white trash group, playing yet another prank on announcer Martin Twinkletoes Evans.
RUDY SWITCHBLADE def. SCOTT CARDINAL- Good match with plenty of action. Rudy is a smaller guy and Cardinal is over with the die hard fans. Rudy has been hitting the frogsplash to the back the last few matches. He is one of the pure fan favorites of OVW and pound for pound the best high flyer. There was a video in the back of Conway speaking to Buck and confronting him about stealing his look. Conway says how he can't wear the black shades anymore, but got him his own "Man of Iron" shades which are white. They walk off for their match.
FOR TAG TITLE SHOT AT SIX FLAGS MAY 30TH: THE MEN OF IRON def. THE INSURGENCY The Ironmen get more over every week. These teams have good chemistry and the fans know instantly who to cheer for. Buck took the beating and Conway made a hard hitting comeback. Conway pinned Ali with a crucifix out of nowhere and the fans went apeshit. OVW TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP: "TUBBY" TOMMY MCNALER (C) def. JD MICHAELS - JD does what he always does and thats make his opponents look amazing. Tubby Tommy is a lot like Crash Holly and doesnt need his entourage. I would like to see him turn heel. JOEY MATTHEWS def. JOSH LOWRY - Joey murdered Josh and finished him with his double underhook DDT. Sickest move in OVW right now. LOS LOCOS def. BRENT WELLINGTON & JAMES THOMAS - Locos did there through the entrance gig and manhandled the other guys. The tag team division is probably the strongest thing going on in OVW. TANK TOLAND def. LIGHTFOOT - Tank's second time back and the fans are sticking kindly to him. Tank has a whole new aresnal but finished with his patented Tank Turret. (spinning polish hammer) OVW CHAMPIONSHIP: NICK DINSMORE (C) def. APOC - Apoc is a guy who has blossomed especially after changing his look. The match went back and forth until Nick put him away with the cloverleaf. The only thing I question is that there hasnt been anyone to compete with Nick since he came back. I would think that Joey will be next champion.
Segment after the show: Chris Cage took to the ring and started running his month. Cue Elijah Burke to an enormous response. OVW has always been fan friendly, but this segment looked like a shoot. Burke spoke about how Cage was bitter since he never made it up to WWE and that he blew his chance. Cage and Elijah traded blows until Cage backed off. This is setting up for Six Flags. Joey Mercury came out and spoke more trash. Elijah poked fun at Joey and his lackee Von Lilas. I cant remember what was said, but to everyone suprise Elijah stated that he had a friend with him that wanted to knock some sense into Joey more than he did. Cue John Morrison/Nitro! Morrison came out to the loudest response of the night. Morrison challenged Joey to a match that went about twenty minutes long. Morrison hit the "Moonlight Ride" for the victory.
OVW really shocked us here and even though WWE has pulled their deal. It does not dissappoint. I see OVW still as the future of WWE, with or without the deal. Where else could you see Joey Mercury versus John Morrison?
