- It has been reported that the WWE will finally do away with Heat, which has been featured on WWE.com and will be having ECW tape their show for the Sci-Fi channel before the live Raw broadcast every Monday starting in June once the company has finished it's overseas tour of Australia.
The reason for the ECW move was to help try and increase the ratings and interest in the brand by having ECW get more involvement from the superstars of Raw. It is also expected, though not confirmed, that the ECW superstars will join the Raw superstars in combined house shows.
Smackdown will now be it's own stand alone brand for all TV tapings and house shows.
As for Heat, it has been rumored for a while that the company might be getting rid of the long running hour show ever since they made the choice to move it from TV to WWE.com. The program, orignally billed as "Sunday Night Heat" used to run on the USA Network and then moved to MTV. Once the WWE moved back to the USA Network, the company decided to make it a web-based show and eliminated it's SD counterpart Velocity.
As for what will be replacing Heat, the WWE has informed International TV affiliates that there will be a WWE Classics program feating old footage from the company's vast video library showing in Heat's old timeslot.
