Submitted by Christopher Huynh on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 10:27 PM EST

Hello and welcome the show that’s changing Friday nights, Friday night Smackdown! I’m your reporter Christopher Huynh here to give you the viewers the up and up on what went down on Smackdown! Now without further ado let’s get down to the Smackdown!

Tonight’s show is brought to you from Grand Rapids, Michigan

The show starts off with a video footage of the over the top rope battle royal held last week. It ends with Edge makes a “miraculous recovery” and is medically cleared to wrestle. Edge runs in the ring and spears Batista off the side mat and becomes Taker’s opponent at Judgment Day.

    The Smackdown! theme song runs.

    The board’s decision segment:

Edge, Vickie, Chavo, Bam Neely, the Edgeheads, and Vickie head to the ring. Edge states that last week they witnessed a medical miracle. He says that through rest, perseverance, and the support of his familia he was cleared on time. He then states that at Judgment Day he will defeat Taker. He then goes on to say that Taker has never beat him without the Gogoplata which is illegal. He says that he won’t be able to.

Theodore Long heads out and interrupts Edge.

Long states that he’s sorry he’s late. Vickie goes on to complain on him being late and states that he is unbelievable. She then states that she wants to talk to him in her office after this speech. Long states the reason he’s late and the reason she couldn’t get a hold of him is because he met up with the board of directors. He says that they wanted to discuss about Vickie’s decision on her stripping the title because Vickie did not show up for their appointment. He goes on to state they asked him questions about everything including her relationship with Edge. She goes on to complain. Teddy goes on to state that the board of directors have decided that she will either compete in a wrestling match tonight or be removed from her GM position. If she decides not to compete he says he knows someone who is capable of doing so. She then says that Long is fired. Long states she can’t fire him because he “quits!” He then states that her opponent will be the Undertaker if she decides to compete.

Overall Segment Rating: A great way to start the show and hype up tonight’s main event. This adds a little bit of drama going into tonight’s show. The segment gets 8.5 out of 10 stars.
