Welcome everyone to the show that’s changing Friday nights, Friday night Smackdown! I’m your Smackdown reporter Christopher Huynh here to tell you that we have just witnessed history in the making last Sunday at Wrestlemania 24 as we crowned a new World Heavyweight Champion the Undertaker. What drama is going to happen to set up Backlash? Well we’re going to find out tonight so sit down and enjoy the report. Without further ado let’s get down to the Smackdown!
Tonight’s Smackdown! is brought to you from the great city of Miami, Florida!
The show starts with the Smackdown theme!
The pyros go off and everyone is screaming happy.
Tonight on Smackdown we will get a special appearance from the heartbreak kid Shawn Michaels on ending the career of Flair.
Edge, his Edgeheads, and Chavo make their way to the ring accompanied by Vickie and Long.
Ex-Champion segment:
The segment starts with Edge looking frustrated and banging the mic against his head. He states that he has never been so ticked off in his life. He feels naked without the title. He states that losing to the Undertaker has made him feel like he has let himself and everyone down. He then starts to say that he let Vickie down while fans state that he sucks. He starts to apologize to her and promises to her that he will soon become the World Heavyweight Champion. The fans give a lot of heat to him. Chavo then gets on the mic and states that he also lets the family down. He then states that Kane cheated and doesn’t have the guts to face him face to face. He then states that just like Edge he promises Vickie, Edge, and the fans that he will become ECW Champion. Vickie then gets on the mic and states that as she is general manager of Smackdown! she will tell them that they will get their opportunity at the titles at Backlash. She then states that both Undertaker and Kane will face off against each other tonight. Everyone in the ring starts to do Edge’s taunt.
Segment Rating: It was an ok segment and it did its part in introducing the rematch at Backlash. The segment kept me sort of interested so I’m going to rate it as 7 out of 10 stars.

The bell rings and Festus goes like he usually does and chases Zack out of the ring. He gets rid of Curt Hawkins and catches Ryder who jumps from the side match and slams him to the floor. The winner of the match is Festus!
Overall Match Rating: Just as I suspected it to happen. Festus completely dominates basically the whole match and ends it with a one man flapjack. The match gets 2.5 out of 5. The writers are going to have to start to write something new for Festus because he seems too unstoppable.

He stars off by stating that last Monday he addressed the Raw audience with the emotions from his match from Wrestlemania. He states that he didn’t do it so good. He stated that during the farewell address of Ric Flair and he didn’t know what was going to happen. He stood in the ring and got a hug from the man he admired. He states that it gave him some closure. He starts to talk about what is here for and Batista enters the ring and interrupts his speech. Batista looks really ticked at Michaels. Batista starts off by stating that he is glad that Michaels has found closure. He states that everyone else hasn’t. He stated it was hard for him because it would be the last time he would see Flair compete in the ring again. He states that it bothers him that he will never get to see Flair’s face in the ring again. He states that he took it away from him. Shawn interrupts by stating it was hard for him too. Batista states that deep down Shawn knew he made the wrong decision. Shawn strikes back by stating he gave Flair what he wanted and Batista would have done the same. Batista states that he wouldn’t because he wouldn’t let his ego in the way. Batista states that he didn’t do his job. Batista then starts to say that Michaels is the most selfish man in the business and this Shawn Michaels isn’t the one he knew. Michaels states that he sorry. Batista states that sorry won’t change the fact that he will never see Flair on the road again. Batista comments on how Michaels related Flair to Old Yeller. Batista drops the mic and exits the ring looking at Michaels in degust. Michaels looks down in sadness as fans in the background cheer for Michaels.
Segment Rating: Wow there was a lot of tension between this two. It was very exciting and might have a slim chance of a Batista vs. Shawn Michaels storyline. I personally liked it. The segment gets a overall rating of 8.5 out of 10 stars.

Big Show states that on Monday Khali got in his face and tonight he is in his. Khali backs out of the ring and walks off on the ramp. He gives a taunt on the ramp.
Overall Match Rating: This was a match that needed some improvement. Miz and Morrison won way to quickly in this match and I feel as if they aren’t giving a push to Yang who is a extremely talented wrestler. The match gets a 2.5 out of 5 stars.

Overall Match Rating: The beginning was not really what I or others would like to have seen between these two competitors, but when it came down near the ending it started to get exciting. The factor that Edge and his fellow member came into the match and interrupted it also taken affect in the match rating but very slimmingly. I have to give the match an overall rating of a 3 out of 5 stars. I wish that the match would have gone on a little bit longer

The match ends in a no contest
Smack of the night (match of the night): Going to be obviously the Hardy vs. MVP match. That match stole the show and made every other match look like a joke.
Segment of the night: This is another obvious give away as the Michaels segment kept a fire going that may lead to either the show stopper getting stopped or the animal being caged.
Greatest Impact of the night: The double tombstone piledrivers on both champions opponents gave the world an earthquake that could be felt all around the world. Just like to say that I like the way their going with the Taker/Edge feud.
Overall Show Rating: The night started off in a good way but ever since then it began to suddenly drop in excitement for me. I think that the writers are going to have to come up with better matches if they hope to increase the excitement flow of the show as in creating more exciting storylines . Anyway the show rating gets a 5.5 out of 10 stars.
With Undertaker as the World Champion and Edge as his number one contender (according to Vickie) what impact will spark another flame to rise again? With the return of Finlay and Hornswoggle next week what do they have to say!? Will the animal make another bashful speak to the show stopper?
All these questions will be answered next week and there is only one place to find out. You just have to watch TV that’s changing Friday nights, Friday night Smackdown!
Do you have any comments, questions, or even suggestions to be asked by me Christopher Huynh? Well if you do you can contact me here at XChristopherHuynhX@yahoo.com!
Good night and see you guys next week!!!
