Sorry for the no-report last week. That was due to an emergency I had to attend to last week.
Biloxi, Mississippi.
After the opening video package airs, immediately pyros go off and the Big Red Machine makes his way down to the ring for our very first match of the evening.
Match 1: Kane v. Elijah Burke
The match starts with Burke giving a few rights and lefts to Kane, but Kane counters with a uppercut that sends Burke down to the mat. Kane places Burke into the corner and goes for the big boot, but Burke exits the ring. Burke tries to grab onto Kane’s foot from the outside but Kane kicks him off right into the barricade. Kane exits the ring and then throws Burke into the barricade. Kane throws Burke inside and enters the ring. He then sets up for a backbreaker and Elijah is struggling. Kane then keeps the pressure coming with a headlock. Kane then hits a big boot right in the face of Burke. Burke is hanging onto the ropes and Kane hits him right in the back with a clubbing fist then kicks him right in the back. Kane targets the back to wear down Burke with a camel clutch position after hitting a front slam. Elijah struggles and manages to poke Kane right into the eye. Burke sees the momentum quickly going into his favor and goes in for some fists to Kane. Kane however has plans of his own and hits a major uppercut. Kane lifts him up and whips Burke but on the turnaround Burke hits a kick right into Kane. Burke sets Kane up into the corner for the Elijah express but Kane moves right out of the way and hits a shoulder block in the corner. Kane then hits the chokeslam for the win. (Rating: 3/5. It was a pretty good match back and forth with a predictable finish. A very good opening bout nonetheless)
Winner: Kane
We cut backstage and see that Armando Estrada is shaking hands with Mark Henry. As Henry exits the room he bumps into Chavo. Henry then pushes Chavo out of the way and exits the room. Chavo asks what his problem was and Armando responds that he is one of the many competitors in the battle royal for the ECW title shot. Delaney comes in asking for an ECW contract. Chavo then starts to mock Dreamer and Delaney. Armando announces that tonight Chavo will take on Delaney in a non title match, but if Delaney wins he gets an ECW contract.
