Submitted by Christopher Huynh on Friday, March 7, 2008 at 11:49 PM EST
Before I start the report tonight I personally want to apologize on the short report last week. I just didn’t have enough time to edit it and I just want to say sorry. So I hope this report will make up for it.
Hey everyone and welcome to the show that’s changing Friday nights! Friday night Smackdown! I’m your Smackdown reporter Christopher Huynh bringing you the report that will blow your minds! So without any further introductions let’s get down to the Smackdown!
The night starts off with the Smackdown theme song.
The pyros go off and the crowd is going wild.
Tonight’s Smackdown is brought to you from the great city of Cleveland, Ohio.
The Cutting Edge Segment w/ special guest Ric Flair:
Vickie is in the ring with Edge. Edge welcomes us to the Cutting Edge. He compliments Vickie. He then states that Wrestlemania 24 is starting to become horrible. He states that the Undertakers streak will end at Wrestlemania. He says that he has never lost to the Undertaker. He says he is the true phenom when it comes to him taking on Undertaker. Vickie states that Taker will face Edge and the Edgeheads in a 3- on -1 handicap match later on tonight. He states the other depressing thing is the end of the Nature boy’s career. He introduces Flair.
Flair comes right out stylin and profilin.
Edge says that in a little over three weeks his career will be over. He said that the show stopper is going to put an end to the show. Flair counters back by saying that the show will go on and that he will beat Shawn Michaels and wrestle even longer than that. Edge states that he wants to talk to Ric Flair the loser not the retiree. The fans start to give some negative feedback and Edge tells them to shut up. Flair tells Edge his fans are talking to him. He says unlike himself Flair has lost to the Undertaker and asks how he feels about it. Flair says that he felt like hell. He says that Edge had better think about Taker choke slamming him and taking the world title. He then states that the loss to the Undertaker only progressed his career further. He then states that his relationship with Vickie is a sham and that his reign as champion is going to end. Vickie then starts to rant on Flair saying he had no business in her affairs. Edge then states he won’t stand him talking to Vickie like that. He says that he should watch the match closely tonight because next week he will face flair in a 3-on-1 steel cage handicap match. He says that Flair’s career won’t be on the line but his well being is. Edge then starts to “Wooo!” and Flair smacks him right in the face.
Flair exits the ring after Vickie breaks it up.
End segment.
Segment Rating: This was very interesting and it nicely sets up for next week’s main event. The segment gets 8/10.

Overall Match Rating: This match was very decent and a good way to start off Smackdown. It was well balanced and showed some athleticism from both sides. I personally would however like to see something else done with Festus. The match gets 3 out of 5 stars.

Overall Match Rating: The match was exciting as usual. The main problem to the match was the way it ended. I personally don’t like matches like these ending in a horrible way such as a ring count, but overall a very good match. The match gets 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Smack of the night (Match of the night): This one was really easy because everything fell in comparison to it tonight. Batista vs. MVP has to be the Smack of the night.
Greatest impact of the night: Yet again another thing easily found. The greatest impact has to go to Edge and his major spear to his #1 contender Undertaker.
Best segment of the night: I personally thought the Cutting Edge was the best segment of the night.
Overall rating of the show: It was a pretty good Smackdown regardless of that pointless Noble vs. Big Show match. I like how the Undertaker and Edge feud is headed and I hope it continues down the right path to Wrestlemania. Tonight’s overall rating gets a 7.5 out of 10.
