Submitted by Matt Anderson on Monday, March 3, 2008 at 11:08 PM EST
First thing's first, Donny is out of town this week, so I'll be handling the report tonight. This week the USA Network presents WWE Monday Night Raw, live from the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IN.
The show starts with HHH, Randy Orton, and John Cena in the back. They are confronted by Regal who says that he's got a wonderful idea of how to spice things up. He's going to do a Triple Threat Takeover, which is where one of the three will be in charge each week, for the next few weeks. The first of the three chosen to be in charge is John Cena. Orton is distressed, and says that the two not chosen should get the night off, so they don't get hurt. HHH says that he doesn't trust any of them. Cena says that tonight he'll come up with something satisfying.
Lillian is in the ring and says that this match is a mixed martial arts exhibition. The first contestant out is Big Show. Floyd Mayweather is shown watching from Las Vegas. His opponent is Brandon "the Thrill" Hill. Hill is roughly the same size as Floyd Mayweather. Okay, Big Show towers over most of the guys on the roster, but this looks like a kid trying to fight his dad. On another note, Big Show looks in terrific shape.
Big Show v. Brandon Hill
The ref gets both guys in the center, and Big Show walks right into Hill, bumping chests to establish dominance. The ref tells them that he wants a clean fight. Hill grabs onto the ropes as Show gets close, making the ref back Big Show away. Hill runs around the ring, getting the ropes again, and again. The ref says that if Hill gets the ropes again, he'll call it a DQ. Hill tries to go toe to toe with Big Show, but Big Show just shrugs off Hill's best shots. Big Show tosses Hill into the ropes, then hits a big boot. After a chokeslam, Big Show covers, and gets the win.
Your Winner: Big Show
Show grabs a mic and says that it won't end the way Mayweather thinks it will. He says he'll break Mayweather's legs, back, and leave him down. Mayweather says that he broke Show's nose before, but he'll break his jaw at Wrestlemania. The two exchange a few lines before Big Show lifts up Brandon Hill and gorilla presses him out of the ring. Mayweather says that Hill is a bum, that it was easy work, and that Big Show needs to be ready for Wrestlemania.
Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair are in the back, and we are told that they will be teaming up next.

HBK and Ric Flair both come to the ring for their match. Tonight they will be taking on Cade and Murdoch.
Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair v. Cade and Murdoch
Flair starts off against Murdoch. They start with a standard tie up, with Murdoch locking on a headlock, only to get thrown into the ropes. Murdoch hits a shoulderblock, but is brought down by a hip toss from Flair. Flair starts an offense of chops, but eventually gets back body dropped by Murdoch. Flair manages to tag in HBK before any real damage is done. HBK comes in, and Murdoch tags in Cade. Cade hits the ropes, but HBK hits an inverted atomic drop. HBK hits the ropes, but is hit but Murdoch from behind. Cade starts a good offense, with a nice double team by Murdoch with a running kick to the face. Cade takes an enzguiri and tags in Murdoch before Shawn can get going. Murdoch climbs the top, but takes a boot to the face. Shawn takes advantage and tags in Flair, while Murdoch tags in Cade. Flair hits some offense with some chops, then hits a knee breaker. Flair locks in the Figure-4, and HBK stops Murdoch from interfering with the inverted Figure-4. Cade and Murdoch both tap.
Your Winners: Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair
HBK grabs the mic and says that while he appreciates everything that Ric said last week, he doesn't want the match at Wrestlemania. He says that he doesn't want to be the guy to end Ric Flair's career. He says that it is Wrestlemania, and he is the Heartbreak Kid, the Showstopper, and that if Flair keeps pushing for this match, it will be Flair's show that will be stopped. HBK leaves the ring with Flair looking on in disbelief.
Regal is in the back, and is talking on his phone, presumably to Vince. He says that Cena is in charge tonight, and that they weren't happy about it. Cena walks in and interupts. He says that since he's in charge, why not have HHH and Orton go through each other. Tonight we'll see HHH and Randy Orton go at each other. Cena says that he also has some unfinished business with Mr. Kennedy, so they'll go at it tonight. Cena then says that since he's in charge tonight, they're standing is his office not Regal's. He tells Regal he can go, and then relaxes on the couch.

Umaga's music hits, and the Samoan Bulldozer comes out for his match against Super Crazy. Regal is now joining JR and King at the commentary table.

Chris Jericho is in the ring, and tonight we see the return of "Chris Jericho's Highlight Reel". Tonight the guest is Jeff Hardy. Y2J grabs the mic and welcomes us to the return of the highlight reel. He says this is the show that started all the spin offs, like Cutting Edge, are you smarter than a Snitsky, and Cooking with Goldberg. He then introduces Jeff Hardy, one of his opponents for the Money in the Bank match at Wrestlemania. He says that he himself qualified for the MITB match by beating Hardy. We see a few highlights from their match last week, in which Jericho beat Hardy. Jericho says that Wrestlemania is a ladder match, Jeff Hardy's time to shine, but while Hardy can climb ladders, do Swantons through tables, fall in hot lava and shoot lazers from his eyes, there's nothing anyone can do to stop Y2J at Wrestlemania. Hardy says that things have changed since Jericho was last here, and that in the past Hardy would have just nodded his head, wished Jericho luck, and walked away. Now, Hardy isn't just satisfied in being himself. He wants to win the match, cash it in, and win the title. Jericho reminds him that not only is he a past WWE champion, but he was the first Undisputed Champion. Y2J lets Hardy know that they are no longer friends or peers, and from now until Wrestlemania, anything goes. Hardy says he agrees and hits a Twist of Fate out of nowhere. Hardy then leaves, with Y2J down in the ring.

All in all an pretty good Raw. There were a few too many segments, but that was made up for by the fact that the segments were entertaining. Any questions or comments can be sent to mande042@odu.edu.
